Chapter 4

“Interesting”

I said to myself while I was hiding on one of the branches of a tree with this guy that I’ve knocked out next to me. Now that I think about it this guy is a child, and he is tall for being a child. I suppose that he is 7 years old. Well, I got to this conclusion because of his face because if I were to guide for his height; I would have thought that he is an 8 or 9 years old.

But that was not the reason why I thought that my situation was interesting. It was because I was seeing a group of people gathering at the point where I threw the ball of light. But what it amazed was that just warrior and mages of the 4th rank to the 6th rank were the ones that have been gathering at that point.

“It seems that this forest it’s kind of dangerous”

I said with a big smirk on my face. I will come back later to train. But it’s weird; when I went inside of the forest I didn’t feel any kind of danger. I should’ve suspect it when I saw that almost no human been was inside the forest. Well, I can’t blame myself.

So, while hiding my strength because I didn’t want the group to notice me, I went outside of the forest while carrying the child in a piggyback position.

After I was outside the forest, I made the child to lean on a tree. Then, I went to find a pit full of water. Thankfully, next to the pit I found a bucket. So, I fill the bucket with water. After filling the bucket, I went to where I left the child, and then I threw the water that was inside the bucket on the face of the child. Instantly after I’ve done that, he woke up

When he looked at me, I saw fear on his eyes.

So, I asked him

“What are you afraid of?”

He did not respond right away, so I waited for the answer. After 30 seconds he tried to answered me

“I....I….I…”

But he couldn’t, the fear that he has right now did not allow him to answer me back. So, I change my question.

“Are you afraid of me?”

This time he didn’t answered me with words. He just nodded.

Immediately, I knew that he saw me using my powers. At least, I got the answer that I needed.

But now, knowing that he saw me using my powers. What should I do with him?

I really didn’t want anybody to know about my secret, at least not yet. I especially don’t want anybody to know my secret because there should be guys that by knowing of my powers, they may try to get me on their side, and if I don’t accept, they may even threat me with my family. I know that my parents are strong, but I don’t want to take that risk.

Should I kill him?

I don’t want to kill this child, so the idea of killing is discarded.

Should I threat him?

I don’t know. I never liked to inflict any mental damage to a person, worse to a child.  Well, in my past life I may have done that. But my feeling for vengeance did not let me think clear. Now that I think about it. I do regret that.

Should I ask him to keep my secret?

It seem that this is the only answer for now. But if he doesn’t want to cooperate, or if he even tell somebody about it. I don’t know what I might do. So, I ask him.

“Could you please keep my secret?”

He was surprised by my question. He didn’t think that I would ask him that. So, he answered

“Are you not going to kill me?”

“Why should I?” I answered immediately.  “Did you do something against me that deserve death as penalty?”

“I don’t think so”

“Then we’re good, but don’t change the subject” “I DO NOT want you to tell anybody about my secret” “Can you promise me that?”

Knowing that I was serious, he look straight in my eyes and the he said

“Yes”

I sighed in relief after hearing that

“Well, then I hope to you meet again”

“Wait”

Suddenly I heard him wanting me to stop

“Is there a problem?”

Intimidated he said

“Can you please take me home?” “Right now, I’m lost and I think that I been out of my house for a day” “I’m kind of scared, you know?”

Then I suddenly realized that I been out of my house for a day too.

“My mother is going to kill me” I suddenly thought. Geez, I hope that my parents are not that angry when I come back.

Looking at me with a worried face. He laugh a little, and then he said

“Finally, you make a face of a child” “You know, I was thinking that you were kind of a monster” “Well, you practically are a monster, but it seemed that you’re a not a monster inside”

“So rude, just because I am powerful that doesn’t make a monster” “Talking about monsters, you too are pretty good for your age” “That speed that you used to run away from me, just warriors of the 2nd rank can use”

Hearing that, with a prideful face and putting one of his hands on the back of his face, he laugh a little and said

“My family usually tell me that I am a genius”

“You sure are” I answered him back. “Okay, we can talk while I am walking you home”

Because I didn’t know where he lived, and he doesn’t know where he is at and how to come back. I said

“Come here”

He started walking toward me. Then, I grabbed his hand and applied Trace Magic

Trace Magic is a kind of magic that I could use in my past life. By taking a tiny portion of mana of somebody. I can trace where he is, and where he has been in three days. Trace magic was not a unique magic that we have in my past life, so I think that people in this world can use Trace Magic too without problems.

So, after using Trace Magic I got to know where his house is. We went to his house and while walking him to his house. We started talking again. I got to know him better, and did him. At the end, we kind of became friends.

We got to his house, and after I said goodbye I saw what I believe it was his parents. Not wanting them to see me. I use my darkness element affinity to fuse myself with the shadows, and disappear. Rudeus didn’t notice me. But I was next to him just inside the shadow of tree that was next to him. I saw Rudeus’ parents scolding him because of how he went out of the house without their consent. Knowing that I may have the same fate as him, I rushed towards my house.

I got to my house, and I found that just Adira was there. When she noticed that I was back, and with tears on her eyes he rushed towards me. He hug me and starting asking me

“Where have you been?” “Did you know how worried I was?” “Do you know that I got scolded by you parents because of you?” “Your parents right now are outside searching for you”

After knowing how much my family has suffered because of me being gone, I started apologizing to her.

When my parents came back, they immediately rushed toward me with tears on their eyes. They asked where I have been, what was I doing.

The only thing that I could tell them was that I was inside the forest. With pale faces, they started searching if I had some kind of injuries. After seeing that I was unscratched, they sigh in relief. And then the scolding started.

Sorry guys, no more chapter today.

I'm exhausted because of this chapter lol. I would try to make another chapter tomorrow but no promises okay because of school . As always thank you guys, and I hope that you enjoyed the chapters.
