It was a warm morning in 1937, and Sam wasn’t feeling all too good. The higher ups at Southern Pacific had asked him and Bill to conduct one of the new engines for the Daylight Limited line. When he finally got to the engine house he was presented with one of the prettiest engines he had seen. A 4-8-4 Steam Engine sat before him, streamlined and fitted with a stark white boiler cap. The boiler was the normal black and grey, but the stream lining had a vibrant scheme of bright orange and scarlet red. Painted in multiple lines across the streamlined plates, it and its sister locomotive stood out from the crowd of other engines. While Sam was staring Bill popped up behind him admiring the engine with Sam.
“There is no way the bigwigs at the top let us drive this beauty Between LA and San Francisco.”, Bill said, initially spooking Sam.

“Well they did, Boss met me yesterday and showed me the papers, this loco gonna be all ours for the Limited.”
“Well then, let's hop in, we only got so much time before we are expected to be at the Station so let's get it rolling!”, Bill said excitedly, almost running up the ladder, which was followed by Sam taking his seat at the engineers chair. Bill then grabbed the coal shovel and began to fill the firebox. Sam shouted at some of the workers to get the turntable ready and open the doors while he lit the firebox. Soon enough they were slowly chugging down the rails to a rail diamond intersection. From there laid the railyard where the cars for the Daylight were being prepped. This trek was ended when the train crossed the diamond, for a 2-8-8-8-8-2 freight hauling quadruplex appeared out of nowhere, only for it to slam into the Daylights cabin. All Sam heard was the loud screeching of tearing metal, and the cool sweep of death took him.
