UPDATE (03/07): Hiatus will continue for a few more days, then I should be releasing chapters soon. Sorry everyone.
UPDATE 2 (14/07): Considering no chapters have been released yet, it should be obvious that things haven't being going to plan. Next week is now when I'll start releasing chapters again due to something unexpected coming up. Again, sorry.
I know this is a bit late of a notice considering the last chapter was a month ago but I roughly know now when I can come back and start writing again. The story isn't dead but I'll be on hiatus until the end of June, and after that I should (hopefully) be able to start working on chapters again with nothing interfering in my schedule for quite a long while.
Now that I am writing a sort of proper non-story chapter I think I should have some time to outline where this story is going to go. So, Rogue is a planned trilogy, each book containing roughly 5 individual parts; so for this book, which is Book 1 : Legacy, we are about 1/3 to 1/2 done with the book (parts 1&2 are short in length compared to the other ones). After I finish this book, I'll either be returning to The Wanderer Monarch, starting a different book that's been on my mind for a short while about wizards, or going straight into the next book. Rogue is a part of an overall book universe that I've created (which has been hinted at through God-Killer), which has three/four other planned series in (well the series are all planned to be about 1 to 2 books in length though that may change when I get to them). Rogue is the chronological first series in this universe, so I am writing it first for that reason alongside a couple others which I won't elaborate on due to spoilers. All the other books in this universe have differing magic systems but are all based on the same three realm system. If you want the other series names alongside small descriptions, they are listed below in the spoiler box:
The second book(s), chronologically, is Copperling. Its a more traditional martial arts book(s) exploring a magic system in the physical realm. All the people in that world are burdened with the Copper Curse; if their skin touches water at all, it transmutes into copper. For obvious reasons, this is very bad. The protagonist is someone who, due to an accident when they were young, has a copper leg. However, the protagonist of this eventually discovers not all is as it seems in this world, and the Copper Curse isn't universal; its unique only to humans.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
The third book, chronologically, is The Marmary Plant. With a magic system in the cognitive realm, it explores an apocalyptic scenario on a world technologically similar to Earth and, similar to Rogue, has 3 main characters through which we explore both sides of the apocalypse. Can't elaborate on much more due to spoilers, but it ties in nicely with the universe at large.
Finally, if I ever get to it, is the last book in the series, currently unnamed. Its a space opera spanning the whole universe, and I haven't really planned much of the story beyond the broad strokes of it, so I won't say much on it now.
Seperate to the whole universe, I also talked about the classical wizard book idea that's been brewing in my head. Its still in its early stages, but my want to write it is growing quick. Essentially its about an order of mages, called wizards, who have been lost to time. Wizards of old practised obscure, strange and mystical magic based in the schools of illusion and fae/fairy, essentially living up to the old classical archetype of a mysterious spellcaster in other stories with more soft magic systems. It'll be a more slice of life story with some action mixed in later on about a failed mage discovering an old wizard's tower and practising that lost magic.
The last thing I'll say in this update is a thank you. Although, in the grand scheme of the entire website, the amount of people reading this is very small, every single one of you have made this whole story worth writing. Though I certainly started writing this because I wanted to put the world in my head to paper (or, in this case, a screen), and still do, every view I get makes it worth a lot more to me than it would usually. Thank you all for that.
See you all at the end of June, or earlier if I get any time, and, again, thank you.
