Alright, what the hell happened that got me to this point? I was fixing up busted robots for my company when suddenly one burst into flames and turned my entire workshop into a living hellscape of smoke and fire, then I passed out, some AI Lady talked about me being implanted, and now I am in a lush green forest in a robot body with no idea how I got here. I slowly get my feet under myself and try to stand up but just as I push myself off the ground I unconsciously perform a little hop and hit one of the lower branches of the tree I was lying under, when I land back on the floor I stumble and fall forward onto my new shiny metal face.
Ah, right… I am now not some puny little human who could barely lift a little weight, but a robot used in different life-or-death applications, which could rip people in half. The brand-new Motus Robotics Intrepid! It can now be yours with a monthly subscription to Motus Monthly for a measly $10,000-$50,000 per month, or you can buy the robots standalone at your local Motus Robotics Dealer for just $250,000! These puppies can do anything you want, set them up to do menial tasks for your company, use them in high-risk environments, or let them do tough physical labor, like rescuing survivors after an avalanche!
I get back up, this time a bit more carefully, and manage to stand without many issues, it just seems that my strength in this new robot body is on a new level. I take a close look at the robot body I now inhabit, first, my new face and head! The Intrepid Model I got reincarnated into is a bit special in that regard since it’s a model that is mostly used in dangerous environments where the robot might get damaged we made parts slightly easier to replace, for example instead of a complicated humanlike face there is a simple, flat, rectangular LCD screen where the face should be, this screen gives the robot a very iconic face if I’m allowed to say myself. It allows the robot to easily show a variety of information just by looking at his face, in exchange, the robot's facial features are very primitive, only consisting of simple faces that look more akin to things sent in old-school chatrooms when I was young than a human face.
Now next to the main body, the torso of this robot is not as bulky as one might expect it to be due to its strength. It’s quite slim, looking more akin to an Olympic runner than a boxer or weightlifter, the only big part of the torso that does slightly stick out is the chest area, where the battery and fusion engine are located. These are another revolutionary invention our company implemented, before we came up with the idea of creating energy inside the robot itself many other companies had their robots wear bulky backpacks on their back which made them less maneuverable and generally weird looking. I wouldn’t say the chest on these robots sticks out, just that the robot itself has more of a V-shaped torso than you’d expect.
My arms and legs are quite spindly, and the feet of the intrepid model are quite simple too, not even having individual toes. The hands are very dexterous and work like a charm, although the grip strength of this robot is on another level I don’t have any feeling anywhere on my body, since I don’t even have any skin to feel with. I still can feel some stuff like forces pushing against the motors and hydraulics all over my body, seems like I’m lost some sense due to getting a new robot body, I can’t smell, taste, or feel anymore! In exchange my other senses have gotten an upgrade, I feel like an can hear far more now and my sight is amazing, this has got to be worth it right? Right?! Sigh, I just don’t hope that I catch on fire like that other robot… Let’s find out where I am right now.
I take a look around the place I woke up again, it is a pretty beautiful place to be in, I don’t know where this is, but I’d take a little walk through this forest, if I could smell I’d probably be taking in the fresh air right about now. As I’m taking in the spectacle of the forest in front of me I see something weird, a tiny gray blob in the lower left side of my view, just as I try and focus on the blob, the weird HUD from back in the void is back! And this time it’s way bigger!

What kind of stupid prank is this?! I can't swipe it away, so it's not like a projection, hmm... As I ponder what this thing is, a thought creeps into the back of my mind. Wait a second, MP? Does this mean Magic exists in this world? This HUD is literally in my head, so, is this another world? How I didn't get this idea earlier I'm not sure, but one thing is for sure. I died in that fire and somehow got reincarnated into another world in the body of one of the robots involved in the fire. I think over my current situation for a bit, I was an avid gamer and a bit of a nerd in my previous life, so I knew what this status screen stated, but the bigger issue that immediately hit me was. Robots don't even exist in fantasy! How the hell am I supposed to live here if nobody knows what the hell I am?! I know I can't run out of fuel due to this fusion core, but I'm just going to rust to death if I can't get a roof over my head! I've got to find some allies, because I can't really hide being a robot, or can I?
With a plan in mind, I glance around again. I'm in the middle of a goddamn forest! While this forest is quite nice I don't think I'll find many people here. For now, I'll start making my way out of this forest and search for a town, maybe I can find some kind of clothing to drape over myself and just pretend to be some beggar. I take a walk on my new legs, and it does feel quite weird, like when your legs have fallen asleep and you can't really feel anything under your soles. I'm still mastering this new body and I slowly make my way through the forest, at some points holding onto trees so as to not fall. After around 30 minutes I see a small clearing in the distance, I start to hear noises, some feet stomping the ground loudly, and a few cries of what I must presume is joy. I immediately hide behind one of the trees close to the clearing and peer over into the clearing. What I see is a new sight for me though.
I spot a small wooden tower with an unlit campfire near it, by the campfire sit 4 small green humanoid figures, with long pointed noses, and ugly faces. Goblins?! Really? I was kind of amazed at how similar they looked to descriptions from my old world. Should I attack them and then see if they have anything useful for me? Nah, I can kill spiders at home, but something this human is a bit mu-, just as I'm finishing my thought I hear a loud "Gugguyah!" behind me, I turn my head around only to see a fifth goblin charge straight at me. I don't even have much time to think before the goblins hit my hard metal body with a club. My body only gives off a light thunk in response, I don't even budge an inch. What am I supposed to do now, run away or kill this goblin?! As I ponder what to do I hear several "Guguyah!" from the opposite side, straight from the clearing. It seems the goblins heard their friends cry and saw him batting me with his club and now they want to join in!
Dammit, maybe I can just knock them out. I mean I've got enough strength right? I turn to the one goblin and reel my arm back, when I release, my arm shoots forward straight at the goblin's face. The goblin quickly raises his club to block, but a simple club seemed not to do much, my fist crashes into the club then the sheer power of my punch forces the club out of his hand, and my fist barrels straight into his jaw. The next part, I didn't expect though, my fist curves into his jaw and slowly upwards, like in slow motion I see my fist connect, the goblin's head shoot upwards, and then his head rip straight off of his neck. The goblin's head flies backward with a gigantic spray of blood flying from it and the neck. My fist slows and I take in the carnage I just created. Fuck! I didn't mean to kill him, god damn it! If I could throw up, I would've at this point, it felt like there was blood everywhere, I even had blood on me, ew!
The goblins who just arrived from the clearing take in the gruesome scene, clearly taken aback by the sheer amount of damage my fist did. They don't seem to be in much more of a fighting mood, but they still want to defend their territory. Ugh, I mean I already did it once. Should I do it again? But that was soo gross!, with me standing there really debating if I should try doing that again the goblins finally come to a conclusion, and one of them charges forward with the other 3 in tow. I decided that I already overcame my aversion to killing and begin to charge a kick into the leading goblin. Upon impact, he gets catapulted all the way back into the clearing, the other goblins, now more enraged, charge me with hatred in their eyes. I kick 2 of them in the stomach similar to the second goblin and then pick the last one up by the throat, give him my condolences in my mind and throw him into the nearest tree.
The scene now looks like it's straight out of a slasher movie, the goblin I threw at the tree left a bloody snail trail on the tree and the goblins I kicked in the stomach have clear internal injuries, dying from internal bleeding. I put my hands together in prayer, I'm sorry I didn't want to do this, but you left me no choice...May you rest in peace..., After I get back up I see a small HUD Box in the top left of my vision.
You have defeated 5 Goblins: 35 XP received
You have reached Level 2, 1 Point awarded
A slight bit satisfied with myself I look at my status menu, from my video gaming experience I knew that I had to award to point somewhere around here. But after just thinking a bit I realized that with the kind of power I just demonstrated, I don't need an upgrade right now. I'll save the point, for now, maybe something interesting will come along. I walk into the campsite of the goblins, making sure not to step on any of the kicked goblins. When I get to the campfire and tower combo I see something though, it seems like the goblins made themselves a small room under their makeshift tower to hide from the rain and sleep. Ooh, maybe I'll find some loot in here, some kind of equipment maybe?
Hyping myself up like a little child after murdering some small humanoids I peer through the makeshift rag intended as a door into the hut, what I see isn't quite what I expect though. Inside find a beaten-up unconscious young woman with her hands tied to one of the walls, she's pretty much wearing nothing but some ripped and banged-up equipment, though it seems like it was ripped in the most private places.
