General Howard was trying to explain what he had learned during the intense action that was unfolding on the screen in front of them. They watched as the helicopter slammed into the wall of the bunker. The saw Qi Lian on top of a crumpled car hood, being helped up by their Code Blue soldier on the scene.
Each time general Howard tried to say something it seemed some development on the ground was happening. They watched as the helicopter moved outward and as the Red Tide terrorists exited the building. Everything they could see was from Jeffrey's perspective.
Just before the fighting began general Howard once again tried to say something, but this time he was interrupted by President Miller.
"General when exactly are we getting our troops in their again?" John asked worriedly.
"They should be arriving momentarily sir. They are quite close now thanks to Qi Lian telling us we needed to get them there." General Howard responded.
The group watched as Jeffrey began to fight with several Red Tide soldiers who were on the attack. Even though they had seen the fighting earlier in Plattsburgh, John and his staff still all sat in awe of how fast and strong these super soldiers were. The fighting was proceeding too fast for them to really see what was going on. But it was clear that Jeffrey was being helped by some people.
Gunshots were being fired at the Red Tide terrorists who were attacking Jeffrey. And for a while this seemed to be working. Jeffrey was able to hold off the uninjured terrorists. But it seemed as if wave, upon wave, of terrorists were coming straight for him. Eventually he was unable to hold back the onslaught. Jeffrey fell to the ground as the terrorists surrounded him.
"Jesus general we need to get help in there immediately. There is no way they are going to survive this without our help!" John yelled.
"Sir our troops are just about within range now. Would you like me to send the order to fire when ready?" General Howard asked.
"I presume you mean fire with bullets correct? I would prefer to try and avoid blowing our allies to bits." John asked.
"Of course sir." General Howard replied.
"Then by all means, fire when ready general." John responded.
John's attention fell back upon the screen. It appeared that Jeffrey was receiving a brutal beating. Then suddenly everything stopped. They could hear yelling from the distance. John assumed that since the fighting had stopped that Han Xin was the one doing the talking.

John and his staff could hear Han yelling out to Qi Lian.
"Hold on Qi Lian, just for a few more moments, help is on the way." John said to himself, while listening to the words spoken by Han Xin.
Then in the camera John could see Qi Lian running in the direction of Jeffrey, who was still laying on the ground. They could hear the gunfire from the helicopters above. Then all they could see was a mass of people, blood and dirt on the screen. Some of the bullets were certainly finding their marks, but the dust that they flung up began clouding the view of Jeffrey, and thus John and his staff as well.
After about a minute or so of constant gun fire, the bullets stopped. Now John was able to toggle through the screens of a few thousand Code Blue soldiers. The soldiers began parachuting in, guns drawn and now the gun fire resumed. The goal was to leave as little room for escape as possible, while not killing Qi Lian's group members.
John managed to find the feed of one of the first Code Blue soldiers to hit the ground at Fort Tilden. After cutting his parachute he ran toward the surviving Red Tide terrorists.
"Tell them to get inside that bunker before it is too late!" John ordered.
"Yes sir." General Howard replied. The general had yet to manage to find an appropriate time to tell John what he had needed to tell him.
As general Howard relayed the order, the hand to hand combat began. Some Code Blue soldiers came to the aid of Jeffrey and the remainder of Qi Lian's little group. Upon landing they had unfortunately discovered that two members of her group were dead. But to this point they had not seen Qi Lian, nor had they seen Clayton or Han Xin.
This time the Red Tide soldiers were clearly overmatched and they began to fall, desperately defending the bunker. It only took the Code Blue soldiers a couple of minutes to break through this last line of defense. The Code Blue soldiers cleared the remnants of the old helicopter out of the way and moved themselves inside. What they found were several more Red Tide soldiers, typing busily away on keyboards. The Code Blue soldiers opened fire and the last of the Red Tide soldiers fell.
"We need to see if Han Xin is part of this group immediately. We cannot have him on the run again, this has to end right here and now!" John exclaimed.
"Yes sir. Relaying the orders now." General Howard responded.
At that moment the general was yet again tapped on the shoulder. This had been a frequent occurrence in the last half an hour or so. John looked back and could see that someone was whispering in the general's ear.
Turning his attention back to the screen, John began toggling through the Code Blue soldiers again. He stopped when he saw Qi Lian on a camera, standing across from a person who was not fully visible. As the Code Blue soldier approached he realized it was Han Xin, who was holding Clayton on his shoulder. The Code Blue soldier who was wearing this camera had climbed on top of the bunker.
It was clear that Qi Lian was upset, and the two were arguing. Then John saw Han produce a knife in his hand, quickly stab Clayton in the back and drop him to the ground. Then Han turned and ran.
"NO YOU COWARD!" John heard Qi Lian say.
Then John felt a tug on his shoulder.
"Mr. President, I am sorry to tell you that several Chinese nukes have been launched and some are heading toward the U.S. Also we need to talk about the our nuclear football." General Howard said.
