“Sav, do you want a cookie?” Liliam spun around in her homemade dress while holding out a cookie toward his bird.
“I already told you goofball, I can’t eat anything… but I’m sure it’s good,” he sighed.
“Yeah, yeah, I know… but I’m sure you would really like it! I wish you could…” she muttered.
“I know I would really like it too,” he said.
It had been an undetermined amount of time since Nordan’s last level-up. In fact, he could have done it ages ago but he had never gotten around to doing so. Instead, he had been distracted showing Liliam all the wonderful things she could do.
Currently, she was cooking in an oven they had put together. It had certainly been a process to do so but once it was up, she used it nonstop making it worth all the effort. Liliam was also in no need of space or variety in plants either. By now, she had an endless number of them and enough space to fill a whole stadium.
Nordan had even managed to create some wildlife in his little world, mostly to accompany Liliam. Of course, none of the creatures he created could harm her in any way.
Mostly, he just made stuff like slimes and those rolly polly bugs. He thought they were pretty cute.
Nordan chuckled as he watched Liliam stuff a cookie into a slime. He had created a substitute for eggs with plants to allow this creation to happen. It was amazing how he had complete and total control of everything.
Once Liliam was done harassing her slime, she jumped up on her bed which was now fully decked out. Nordan had taught her how to make a real one to the best of his ability and the end result was satisfying.
“I’m tired, Sav… I think it's time for sleep… can you share one of those stories with me? Hmm, what about one of those love stories?” she giggled.
Nordan had gotten into the habit of sharing some of his own stories with Liliam. This had allowed him to explain some of his old culture and world in ways that were digestible. At first, it was a bit harder as she constantly asked questions but now, she mostly knew everything there was to know. They simply have been talking for that long.
“Yeah, yeah okay. Why? Ya in love with me?” he joked.
Liliam frowned yet didn’t answer. “You’re an idiot!”
Nordan laughed and continued on to read her story.
As Liliam fell asleep to Nordan’s words, he felt himself frown. He was well aware that hearing was experiencing. He wanted Liliam to experience his world like he did. To see everything that she could do and be.
He didn’t even remember the last time he checked his status, just that it had been a long time. Technically, he would see an estimate of how long it had been depending on the amount of astral energy he had. Yet, he was kind of afraid.
He took a look around at the small world he had built. This couldn’t have all been done in a few days or even weeks. At this point, it may have been years since he last paid attention to his levels or anything about the system.
Right before he opened his system, he wondered to himself. What if he just stayed like this? Technically, he had all the ability to create a whole new earth by himself. He could create energy, matter, life, and different materials. Wasn’t that what Earth was? What was his old world made up of?
Yet, he couldn’t help but feel excited at the prospect of becoming more. He could save so many lives by becoming stronger and more powerful. So, he decided to pull up his status.

He sighed in relief as he saw the number 60,000. Perhaps, it really hadn’t been that long. He took a quick look at his world and then back at the number. Something was definitely not right there.
He stared at it for a moment before groaning loudly. It was 60,000 astral essences… essences not energy. He had over sixty times the amount of astral essence he needed to level up! In fact, he was getting close to the level after his own!
After some quick calculation, Nordan figured that it had been over two years since he had looked at his system. It may have been longer with how much he was spending all the time! It had really been that long…
He sighed and decided to simply level up. He could only do more good with whatever it was he would receive.

Tier Ability: Gained The Ability To Die
A huge chunk of information instantly appeared in front of Nordan as he attempted to process what the hell he had just done. This was way more than he had been expecting, not to mention the whole ability to die part!
He quickly brought up this supposed Godly System and took a look at it.
* The Godly System: 0 levels
* Cost: 100 Astral Essence Per Level
* Astral Rate: n/a
He wasn’t sure what he was even supposed to do with this supposed godly system. Didn’t he already have his own system using astral energy? Why did he need another one? He took a look at his other upgrades. Apparently, he was now a simple god rather than a simple being. How did that make any sense? He could die now!
He also gained the ability to infuse astral energy into stuff, whatever that meant. He wasn’t sure how that was useful in any way!
What caught his attention the most was the ability to maintain a physical form. Of everything that just happened, that was the one that made him the most happy. If this was implying what he thought it was, he would be able to actually talk to and be with Liliam. Perhaps, this upgrade was worth it after all.
Suddenly, his small world started shaking rapidly causing Liliam to roll out of her bed.
“What the hell? Sav!” she cried.
One of the now stone sides of the world blew open causing debris to fly everywhere.
“What the…” Liliam cried as she hid behind her bed.
Nordan watched in shock as a being that was completely black walked into his world. It was clearly a humanoid with dark red eyes and pitch-black horns. Those were the only details Nordan could perceive as he watched the creature continue to move forward.
“Aw, what a lovely little world! It seems it was just created! I cannot wait to feast!” the being cried happily.
Liliam froze as she saw the creature get closer. She tried backing away but found she had nowhere to go. She readied herself and ran out.
“This is my home! Go away!” she cried.
The creature let out a disturbing laugh as its face morphed into a smile. “Are you the god of this world? A pathetic creature I must say,”
“I have no clue what you’re talking about but… I live here and I will protect it!” she screamed.
The creature just shook his head and pointed his finger to one of the walls in the distance. Suddenly, the entire thing exploded into bits and pieces causing Liliam to jump back in fear.
“Do you really believe you can protect this place?” he asked as he blew up another wall.
Liliam fell to the floor in fear as she tried to crawl backward.
“Where do you think you’re going, my dear? We’re not done yet…” The creature walked forward and grabbed Liliam.
Nordan’s eyes filled with rage as suddenly he instinctively knew what he did. His form appeared from behind the creature as he cracked his knuckles. He knew he looked exactly like how he did back on earth yet, he knew he was a completely different person.
“Let go of me!” Liliam cried as she tried to break the creature’s grip. Unfortunately, her strength couldn’t compare to his.
Yet, her struggle stopped when she saw Nordan and looked at him wide-eyed. “Sav?”
The creature’s arm morphed into a blade and suddenly stabbed her in the stomach mercilessly.
“No!” Nordan screamed. He watched as the creature turned around in surprise, and Liliam slid off his blade.
“I’ll kill you!” Nordan’s eyes were a blaze of fury. A rage he never knew had overtook him as all his new abilities suddenly made sense.
The creature smirked, “So, you’re the god, huh? Maybe, this will be fun after all.”
The creature rushed at a speed impossible to humans. Yet, Nordan still moved faster. His astral energy-infused legs allowed him to dodge the creature’s blade and get to his side.
He infused his right fist with as much astral energy as he could and whipped it into the creature's face. The creature flew backward and crashed into the already broken wall.
Yet, Nordan wasn’t done yet. He infused his legs with energy and rocketed toward the creature, pounding yet another fist into him.
The creature gagged as it tried everything it could to get back up. Nordan wouldn’t let it.
He started a flurry of punches recklessly spending his astral energy but it didn’t matter to him. He had plenty.
Finally, after minutes beating the creature down for minutes, he relented only because his body physically couldn’t move anymore.
“How!” the creature croaked as Nordan broke through its defenses mercilessly.
“How do you have so much? Your world just evolved didn’t it?” it struggled to even move.
Nordan didn’t bother responding as he started floating upward. He summoned tens of small energy sources. Basically, it's a arsenal of mini suns.
He infused them all with as much astral energy as he could. This time, he physically felt the energy draining from his body. He was using that much.
The creature looked terrified but couldn’t move. All he could do was watch as the suns became brighter, hotter, and more terrifying.
“Don’t! I can give you anything! I belong to a special race that can… The Vicnuses!” yet he stopped as Nordan glared at him.
“Die,” was all Nordan said before he sent the suns rocketing toward the creature.
A massive explosion shook the entire world as everything crumbled to dust. This world was dead.
Still, Nordan rushed toward where he last saw Liliam. He searched around until he found her, curled up in pain.
“Liliam!” He flew toward her and grabbed her body.
“It really is you... Sav,” she whispered, too weak to talk normally.
“Hang on, I’ll get a plant to heal you!” He summoned one of those plants as quickly as he could and let it drip on her.
Yet, it wasn’t fast enough. It wasn’t working. He summoned another and another and another but no matter how many he created it wasn’t working. Yet, he knew why they didn’t work. They only sped up the body’s healing process. They didn’t heal fatal wounds.
“No!” he choked out as tears began running down his face.
“Stop it, silly,” Liliam weakly smirked.
“No! I can do it… I’ll save you like I did every other time! I’m not losing you. I refuse!” Nordan cried.
Liliam gently caressed Nordan’s cheeks with her hands as she looked up at him, growing weaker by the second. “I’m so glad… I get to finally see you… and touch you…”
“Liliam…” he said, tears running down his face.
“I remember you saying something about loving you… I think… I do…” she muttered.
Nordan shook his head as he recalled his joke only hours earlier. All he could manage to say in between the tears was, “Me, too,”
“I’m not sure if this is right but…” Liliam used the last of her strength to pull herself up slightly and pressed her lips against Nordan’s
They passionately kissed for a moment before Liliam muttered, “I love you, Sav,”
Her body proceeded to go limp in his hands, as she closed her eyes for the last time. She was gone.
