RISE OF THE HOLY DEMONIC GOD
Ch 72: Progress [3/Last]

Ch 72: Progress [3/Last]

Rey, whose last training in ability control was , was not expecting to have little talent in it.

However, the reality was different. Despite many lessons on ability from Victor, Rey could only stop the bleeding from the wound he had to create each time.

Victor did not need to give it much thought as he already knew Rey's level in this ability.

The only thing he told him was the truth that everyone knew about him.

"Listen, Rey, I know you already understand situation you are right now. You have the resources and potential to sit at the top of the life chain, but your potential is so low that even our high-level abilities are out of your reach. You may not have noticed it in other abilities since you had some success with them, but this ability of mine, my primary ability, is the real challenge you face now."

"As you may know, this ability requires precise control over even the smallest amount of blood in the surroundings to use it for your benefit. To use it normally at an external level, you have to train like crazy to the level I attained in my first years of life. Using it externally is simple but using it externally and within your own body is not as easy as I did back then."

Rey remained silent for a few minutes before asking a question he was hesitant to voice.

"But why I able to use the ability before when trying to control the blood in my legs?"

"Well, you know there is a word called 'fluke,' right? That's what happened there. What we are training you to do here is to use your abilities without the help of the system because you never know what will happen if you can't use them without the system in a real battle of life and death. Try to use the ability now with the system's help and then try again without it."

Rey nodded as he looked at the blood lying on the table on a glass slab over his action figure model.

[Blood Manipulation]

He used the ability through the system as the mana moved on its own, activating the ability. The blood started to flow and move around under his control. It began to change pieces and other objects as Victor signaled him to return it to its original place.

He did as he was asked and put it back in the place from which he had drawn it.

He then decided to use it without any system help, flowing the mana to the ability core and feeling the ability activate.

Again, the blood started to shake, but this time it didn't float as usual, making it problematic to control.

He tried again and again until it started to float. He didn't lose faith, but having faith doesn't necessarily mean he had talent in it.

As the blood blob splashed into pieces, he lost control, spilling it around the area. Rey, who saw it, rushed toward it and started to clean the places where blood droplets had squeezed by things and left reddish dots on them.

Although his ability to control the blood was severely lacking, he didn't stop trying over the past ten days. Now, he was capable of controlling a small blob of blood easily and even moving it around for a few minutes.

Victor didn't show it, but he was really satisfied with him. Not because of his talent, which he didn't have, but because of his diligence and hardworking nature to achieve what he couldn't do.

He saw many geniuses abandon the things they couldn't do and focus only on the things they could, limiting their potential. But Rey didn't have this mindset.

However, he didn't wish to tell him that, as he had seen many hardworking people fall beyond their potential.

In the following days, nothing major happened. Rey trained with his weapons and managed to increase his mastery of a few by some grades. He even grasped a new level of skill with the sword, becoming more refined in swordsmanship, daggers, and hand-hand combat.

He trained with the wooden weapon Zero repaired for him and also started to use new weapons such as the shield, great sword, and hammer.

He manages to upgrade many of weapons from the lowest grade by one or two levels easily, their concepts of use were quite simple or aligned with the others.

≪↠ Sword: E-↑ (3%)

↠ Dagger and Knives: E-↑ (8%)

↠ Spear: F+↑ (4%)

↠ Shield: F↑ (24%)

↠ Bow: F- (0%)

↠ Great sword: F+↑ (87%)

↠ Hand to Hand: E-↑ (0%)

↠ Gun: F- (0%)

↠ Hammer: F↑ (13%)

↠ Katana: F- (0%) ≫

His new increase in weapons was massive, as the concept of the Great Sword was not much different from his brute way of attacking with a blade; he just had to manage the sword quite efficiently, or else he might get wounded by it.

The Great Sword is a powerful weapon for dealing massive damage and heavy attacks, while the Hammer requires a similar approach since it also needs efficient use of power to strike. The shield, on the other hand, is simply a means of blocking and defending against attacks and learning how to evade them.

To increase his proficiency with the shield, Aiden suggested a plan that proved to be very helpful. He proposed that Zero, who could control a few things by absorbing them, should control a wooden dummy to attack him while he defended. Since the room was not big enough to contain their power and the size of the attacks, they decided to train outside.

Zero controlled the dummy and started attacking him one by one. He did well initially later begin, to struggle to hold his ground as his hands became numb from defending against such heavy attacks. Despite this, he managed to reach F grade, but progressing beyond that was not possible without Aiden's help, which he refused.
