Mr. Smith walks into Larch’s office where Larch immediately cuts to the chase.
“Smith, close the door and this does not leave here. Lust is gone. Last night, the prison had a blackout and when the power was restored he was gone. Also, this was minutes before his followers made their presence felt.”
“What the hell is going on? Why did his followers do that if he was already out?”
“Right now, our best guess is that it was to announce his resurgence. Of the ones that were captured alive, they have no knowledge of his escape. Our best guess is they were viewed as disposable pawns.”

“So, who did it? I can’t think of anyone with any power in New Genesis that fell through the cracks.”
“Before the blackout, we got footage of a possible culprit. He is not a known individual but a facial recognition program indicates he resembles one of the children Lust abducted.”
“What!? We rescued them!”
“Keep it down Smith. We started to look into him and found his parents dead. Right now we are following up on all the children. So far we have not received any good news, on the ones we have confirmed, all the children are missing and the parents are dead. Furthermore, it appears that Lust has someone controlling these kids. This is purely speculation but we fear that he knew that he was gonna get taken down and entrusted things to someone that can mess with the mind.”
What’s next?”
“You will continue your normal work until further notice.”
Smith then left the office with a sour expression while feeling impotent.
