After a few days of getting to know each other, the time has arrived. We pull up to the building hosting the charity event, which is a fundraiser for starving children in some poor wasteland. We proceed down a red carpet like area with photogs and others posing in designer clothing. Getting a little agitated, I almost made a crass statement. In order to calm down I spoke with my companion, “Sarita” Rocinante.
“Sarita, I really don’t like this, can you please take the lead until we get inside?”
“No, don’t wanna.”
“C’mon, please just do it.”
“Mmmmn, nah you can take the lead.”
“Dammit, fine but if we fail it’s your fault.”
Really I am starting to get pissed and we are not even inside yet. While agitated, I proceed to take poses with Sarita and make small talk with the people ahead of us. After what felt like hours we finally made it to the entrance and officially entered the fundraiser. After entering I am approached by an individual.
“Hello I’m John Weinner, nice to meet you.”
“Hello I’m Nick Murray and this is my lovely wife Sarita.”
“Hello.”
“It’s nice to meet you two. I never meet people my age at these events. Maybe you heard’ve me I’m the Vice President of Sync Computers and the youngest vice president in a fortune five hundred company.”

Wow, he’s such a blowhard. I sneak a glance to my side to see how Sarita is fairing but she was nowhere to be found.
“If you’re looking for your wife, she went to the other hens. You know women and their yakking.”
That traitor, I wish their was something I could do to her. She will pay, I just hope it’s soon.
Twenty minutes later.
When will this guys shut up. Seriously, he doesn’t shut up.
Fifteen minutes later
I can’t kill him, no one can be this annoying. He must be a tester. There’s no way someone like this can really exist. In the corner of my eye I see my hand make gestures itching to stab him. I need to get away before I kill him.
And by luck a waiter goes by and John grabs a glass of water.
“Nice talking to you John, I gotta catch up with my wife.”
With that I was finally free.
