Prime Minister Weiss and Archmage Kael had just arrived and stood beside Blaine.
"Greetings again everyone," Prime Minister spoke "Today, we'll be testing your class skills, which will determine the jobs you'll receive. Mr. Handor, would you do the honor of being the first?"
"Sure," Blaine said.
Blaine took a wooden sword from a pile of items prepared for testing. It was a plain-looking sword, most likely used for training. He stood a distance away from the straw dummy, way too far for him to reach.
He raised his arm, a faint glow of red energy surrounded his body, streams of concentrated Ki formed in faint ribbon-like shapes that floated into the air, twirling around his body and sword. The red glow peaked, and in a blink of an eye, He swung his sword down, unleashing a wave of red energy that crushed the ground, throwing dirt into the air. The dummy was sliced cleanly in half, its upper body fell onto the ground. The wave of red energy continued and exploded on the stone wall, cracking it slightly.
The other students gaped in shock. That... was a true display of magical power, one that came from someone they were familiar with.
The prime minister clapped, "Truly a beautiful and marvelous display of power! As expected of the one with the Hero class! Anyone else wants to go next?"
Next, a student who followed Blaine everywhere stood forward.
"I'll go," Kevin Ray said.
Archmage Kael scanned Kevin and then he scribbled down something on his paper clip, probably some data about Kevin's class and potential.
Blaine grinned widely—as if he already knew what the result would be. Kevin stood far out of melee range from the newly replaced dummy. His hand raised, a faint spark grew into a tiny ball of fire that floated on the palm of his hand.
The fire grew in size and in concentration, transforming from a tiny speck of fire to a surging orb of flame. The size of the fireball reached that of a bowling ball. Kevin waved his hand, the fireball flew in an arc towards the unsuspecting dummy. When the ball crashed into the dummy, it rapidly expanded. A resounding boom shook the ground and a ball of flame expanded from the center point that lit the dummy and everything in its vicinity aflame. Zed held up his arm to block the bright light and shockwave coming in his direction. Chunks of burning straw were thrown out into the surrounding area.
Similarly, everyone was shocked to the core. The girls were flaunting themselves at Blaine and Kevin.
Zed didn't know what to think. They were kinda mean back at school. What would they do if they received extremely powerful magic? Wouldn't their personality begin to warp? Zed sensed a feeling of dread as if something bad was going to happen.

Similarly, Ciara and Aaron didn't seem impressed but clapped like everyone else out of politeness. Meanwhile, Kevin scanned the crowd and noticed Zed looking at him questioningly. Kevin's arrogant face dropped for a second too fast for anyone to notice, most likely pissed off because Zed didn't clap his hands for him. A sinister smile replaced his once neutral face.
'Oh shit... This is bad. I've made a mistake.' Zed thought.
After Kevin's done with his test, other students tested their skills as well. The others' skills were not as good compared to Blaine's and Kevin's but received plenty of praises from Archmage Kale and Prime Minister Weiss nonetheless. They reassured everyone that their skills will greatly help the Kingdom. Zed doubted whether that was true for everyone or not.
Then, it was Lia's turn. She was the quiet girl in class. Didn't talk much but excelled academically. She stood in silence, a gentle aura of light-blue slowly concentrated around her, soon turning into an icy gale. Dozens of ice picks materialized into existence, skewering a dummy and freezing it solid. The Archmage stared at the frozen dummy with his mouth opened.
"Ohh Thank the Gods! We have so many talented otherworlders! Truly magnificent young lady! You'll be a powerful Ice mage in the future!"
"T-thank you, Archmage Kael." She replied with a soft voice.
Then, Alina, the purple hair girl stepped forward. She conjured a few dark arrows that turned a dummy into dust, which caught Blaine's attention. She smirked at him before walking to the side.
Aaron stepped in. Immediately, he lowered his body into a wider stance, held his fist back, and lunched it forward. A red aura covered his fist before it crushed the dummy, sending it flying into the wall. The dummy was pulverized by the force of the Ki. Praises and claps were heard coming from everyone.
Ciara, being an enchantress meant that she required a special test. So, she was given a knife to enchant. Ciara cast her enchanting spell, mana left the palm of her hand and entered the knife. It absorbed the energy and glowed a faint blue as if filled with mana.
The archmage picked up the knife and scrutinized its sharpness. He pointed his staff at the knife and cast a spell. His eyes shot open, and he jerked his head between the knife and Ciara repeatedly with his handshaking.
"Splendid! What a wonderful class! This will greatly turn the tide of war against the monsters invasion!"
After a few more students, it was now Zed's turn. He stepped forward and cast [Design Golem]. An interface popped up, showing a basic humanoid golem. On the side, there was [Materials], which when pressed on would show only [Dirt].
'Oh, this is going to be great already.'
He picked dirt as the material and used the same default design. Then, he cast [Create Golem]. The dirt on the ground moved, forming a hunched humanoid shape. It had very large arms compared to its lower body and looked sturdy.
Except... It was the size of a small dog.
"It's him right? That guy called Zed?" One of the students murmured
"Yeah, that guy that didn't really talk much in class. I knew he was lame before but now he's even lamer," the other student snickered.
The other students mocked him for his tiny golems. Kevin, the one who scowled at him because he didn't find him impressive, walked towards him with an arrogant smile.
'Well, crap... This is going to be troublesome...' Zed thought.
