The Prime Minister cleared his throat, "I have a question for you all, which of you has the Hero class?"
"That would be me," Blaine held his hand up.
Prime Minister Weiss approached Blaine along with his guards. Following behind him was a man holding a staff with an embedded red crystal on top.
"This is Archmage Kael, he'll perform a scan on your status," Weiss explained.
Blaine held his breath, a red glow appeared on the archmage's staff but slowly faded away soon after. Blaine let out a sign, relieved that he wasn't in any danger.
"Blaine Handor, Hero Class, Ki Prowess C, and... Ki Potential A?!" The Archmage dropped his jaw.
"Grade A potential?! Truly marvelous!" Prime minister Weiss exaggeratedly threw his hand in the air. "You're truly gifted! Your future will be prosperous!"
"O-ok, I see." Blaine laughed awkwardly.
"I hereby appoint Blaine Handor as the leader of the Heros Team, a team that will lead humanity to victory. Are there any objections?" Weiss asked.
None raised their hands, that wasn't out of expectations. Blaine was a tall, popular, athletic, and charismatic guy back at school. The only thing bad about Blaine was that he was a bully. Zed wasn't liking the way this was going.
"No? Good!" Prime Minister Weiss cleared his throat. "Heros, you must be tired. We'll escort you to your prepared accommodation. Please follow me."
Blaine walked behind the prime minister, followed by the other students. Some of them looked like they wanted to say something but held back. Zed, Ciara, and Aaron followed them as well.
They left the large chamber and went into the hallway. Stone brick covered the entire floor, fused together by some kind of cement plaster. Along the hallways were large windows that curved at the top, and outside were multiple story-tall medieval buildings that stretched over the vast land.
A red carpet with a gold accent stretched along the path, making whoever walked on them feel esteemed. Similarly, various coat of arms covered the walls of the hallway, Zed assumed there could be many factions that supported this Kingdom—due to the variety of flags.
After turning a few corners, they had arrived outside the building. It was a magnificent castle—tall and sturdy. The gate to the outside was conveniently left open, so they went along. After going down the stone stair just outside the castle, they arrived at a large three-story building. It was completely made out of stone bricks, with large windows and medieval yet beautiful outer architectural designs.
Prime Minister Weiss began to speak again, "This is the Heros' Inn, an inn built solely to be used by our great heroes! Each hero will receive their own room, as well as services on the level of nobilities!"

They went inside and were revealed to a luxurious hall. The walls had gold-framed beautiful illustrations, and there were several large round marble tables with red-cushion chairs, all of which were organized neatly. A glowing crystal lit the luxurious hall brightly, making the students felt like they were back in the modern world.
"There will be staff here ready to serve you," Prime Minister Weiss explained. "I hope you enjoy your stay. We shall leave you be now."
The prime minister, the archmage, and the guards left the building and closed the door behind them. The only ones left were the students and the receptionist of the inn shifting uncomfortably in her seat.
"Do you seriously believe them?!" Alina, the purple hair girl fumed, "I'm going to report this to my father and put them in jail!"
Others moved uncomfortably in place. They had just been in a classroom a few minutes ago and now they were told that they were heroes that must save some unknown world and that magic existed. It was not unexpected for them to feel disturbed. The students murmured to each other, many were hunched over and had anxious looks on their faces.
"Now now, don't worry, everything is fine," Blaine said. "If this is real and we're heroes, then don't you think we'll be highly respected?"
The students looked up, feeling somewhat relieved after he had said that.
"Here, let's try something."
Blaine walked up to the receptionist and said something. The receptionist looked hesitant, sweat dripped down her face as Blaine murmured something in her ear. After hearing what Blaine said, she seemed relieved and left the hall.
"Hey, what did you tell her?" Alina said.
"You'll see later." He replied.
...
A while later, a bunch of tables and chairs were brought into the hall. A long table was placed in the center, turning the already opulent hall into an even more luxurious dining hall. Staff with plates of sliced beef, crabs, fishes, vegetables, and much more were lined up on the long-table ready to serve. It was a massive banquet for just a few students.
Soon, the staff finished and left the students. Everyone stood still, shocked by the food available to them. Blaine took a plate and filled it up with all kinds of food, which motivated the other students to follow along.
Zed, Ciara, and Aaron took their serving and sat down at a table together.
"Hey! What you do guys think of this? Isn't this just like a game? Isn't it amazing?" Ciara said.
"Yeah, I guess. Hey Ciara, you're an enchantress right?" Aaron asked.
"Yeah? why?" Ciara asked.
"You've been talking to Zed a lot recently, were you trying to seduce him or something?" Aaron said smugly.
"What?! N-no! It's the magic kind of e-e-enchanting. Not those kind of things!" Ciara pouted.
"Hahahaha! I'm just teasing you, Ciara. You should look at your own face." Aaron replied, which promptly received a kick from Ciara.
"Ouch! Hey... don't be mad. It's just a joke." Aaron attempted to comfort her, which caused her to glare at him.
"Oh yeah, Zed, what's your stats?" Ciara asked.
"Mine is F- on both Ki prowess and Ki potential, dark red mana core and D in mana affinity."
"Mine is D on both Ki prowess and Ki potential and I have an orange core with B in mana affinity," Ciara said.
"I have C on Ki prowess and B+ on Ki potential but my mana core is dark red and my affinity is E," Aaron proudly announced.
'Hmmm, isn't that kinda bad for me?' Everyone else had higher grades and potential than him. He didn't want to end up in an unfavorable position if possible, and judging from the similarities of the place he was in to the medieval time period, it didn't seem like it would bode well for him.
"...Hello Zed? Are you still with us?" Ciara asked.
"Ah, sorry. I was thinking about some things." Zed replied, digging into his meal.
"Don't sweat the small stuff, it'll be fine. I'm sure of it." Ciara patted Zed's shoulders.
"Yeah..."
They chatted about random things to pass time. Before they know it, the sun had already set. Each of them went to their own assigned room. Zed locked the door behind him and laid on the bed, falling asleep immediately.
