[While we walk it would be in your interest to just keep using Identify on everything, as soon as you identify it you instantly remember what that thing is and can recall it later if need be.] Myst explained and they headed… North? [But it only works on things that you can identify and it only remembers facts about that thing you identified that you could ascertain at that current level of identification. so you cant identify the grass here, and it just says “(Plant)” and after you level up the skill you don’t magically remember that the grass you saw here has healing properties, or is a type of poison, etc.]
I understand, so it would behoove me to level Identify quickly early on. Alistair said. By the way, is there a way to know which abilities I have or see like how much health I have, things like that? Alistair asked, hoping it was more like a video game that comes with character sheets and skills and stuff.
[For fuck’s sake, you don’t have a status screen on Earth?] Myst asked, sounding hopelessly exhausted having to explain literally everything to Alistair. [Yes, just think about your Status, and a screen should appear.] Myst said. [That explains why you didn’t know about Identify at least or why you don’t have your basic stats up like health, mana, and stamina. Also, please remind me to never go to Earth, yeah?]
Status. Alistair thought. A screen flooded his vision.

[What the fuck…] Myst said, clearly shocked. [I have never seen a Divine skill before. What is Photosynthesis?] He asked.
Oh, how the tables have turned… Alistair said enjoying the moment that Myst was asking him a question he did not know. Let me just let this moment sink in a bit longer…
[Think, is this really how you want to play this right now?] Myst told rather than asked.
Alright… On Earth it is a process in which plants used energy from the sun and a gas called carbon dioxide to create oxygen, the gas you breathe, using chlorophyll. This process is what I based my power generator and storage device that exploded and killed me, sending me here. Alistair explained.
[Well, that is fucking weird. Mana does all of that here.] Myst said. [So you got an ability based on how you died? Or rather what killed you?]
It was either that… or Mother has a sense of humor and gave me a slight advantage in my quest to save this world. Who knows. Alistair said shrugging his shoulders as he identified a bird he saw in the sky above.
Flyke (Small) (Bird)
[That actually seems more plausible.] Myst said. That mana regen and storage will come in handy down the road, the pool will only get bigger as you level up since it’s percentage-based.]
Alistair was thinking about how the last line flickered and settled on Myst under Companions. What do you think about the bit about you? Alistair asked Myst.
[What do you mean, I’m not there… the last thing I could see was the Companions section and then it said “End.”] Myst said.
Hmm, interesting. It flickered and now it shows you under companions. It also says, “Divine” and “Level: 1.” Alistair replied, wondering why he couldn’t see it if he can see everything Alistair can. Why do you think you can’t see your own information? He finally asked after wondering for a long moment.
[I don’t know…] Myst said taking a long pause. [Divine you say, well… bow down and kowtow before me, or I will strike you down!] Myst said in an authoritatively low voice.
Well, that’s one mystery solved, I think Mother knew it would inflate that ego of yours. Alistair said laughing.
[What was that mortal, you shall be punished for your insolence. I demand you find me shelter and feed me. Now!] Myst said playfully continuing his bit. [Oh look, that actually looks promising.] Myst said snapping out of character.
Alistair stopped and looked at a run-down seemingly abandoned tree house, made with small logs and thick branches. Well, let's go check it out at least. Maybe we found a nice, safe place to talk about how great this world is and how horrible my old one was... Alistair said.
[I know you're joking, but I mean… are you really though? We have magic, I think you know that we win just from that one fact.]Myst said. [Tell me I’m wrong.]
After a long pause from Alistair, Myst finished with, [That’s what I thought.]
