“What’s Cain Academy?” Jason asks.
“It is a hidden academy where people with gifts like ours are…..trained and I am it's headmaster”, Sin drawls.
“What do you mean trained?”
“They are taught to control their gifts and educated on the matters of the world”.
Jason has the feeling that the headmaster was not telling the whole truth. “And what if I say no?”
“Sadly you only have two options on this matter”, Sin says.
“What do you mean two options?
“Before that let’s watch the news shall we”. He grabs the tv remote from the nightstand and turns it on. The news program is showing an area that looks like a tornado went through it. Houses shredded, roads ripped apart. In the middle of all the mess there's a giant hole. The place surrounding it seems familiar to him.
“Where is this place?”, Jason asks. Sin says nothing but he points to the bottom of the screen where text is flowing. It reads ‘gas leak explosions in the area around erikson high’. His face pales. The area with the hole is his backyard.
“What happened?”, he asks in a shaky voice.
“You.”
“What do you mean me? How could I have caused this?”
He smirks and gets up straightening his suit. “I assume Dr. Cromwell did not explain to you what happens when an ability is awakened. So I will tell you myself. When an ability is awakened it will cause the ability to expand through the area or through the body depending on the ability. Yours is more likely a powerful and destructive one. Your ability caused that destruction you see in the news”.
“No I don’t believe you.”
Sin just raises and eyebrow.
“No…..it's not true…..,” he tries to convince himself but he remembers what happened before he passed out. The exploding red light. The dirt all around him before he passed out.
“I see you have accepted that you caused it. Good. Now you can hear your two options. One, you come to Cain Academy and we teach you how to control and use your abilities to the fullest or two. The military takes you into custody for the destruction and get sent to a special prison just for people like us, where they will more than likely make you a test subject for experiments that will make you beg for death.”
Jason’s speechless. The better option of the two is definitely the first one but it seems like it comes with certain stipulations.
“I don’t need an answer right now. Think it over. When you have decided, inform Dr.Cromwell and she’ll tell me. Good day to you Mr. Price”. Sin grabs his magazine and leaves the room. He stops on the threshold and turns around, “If you accept it’ll even tell you who's behind your mother's death.”

“Wait. Wh-”, The headmaster is gone before he can finish.
Jason gets out of bed and runs to the door. The hallway is empty besides a few nurses. He turns and sees the magazine the headmaster was holding earlier turn the corner. Jason runs down the hallway following the magazine. He turns the corner and sees the headmaster standing next to a blond boy. The blond boy looks up and their eyes meet. The boy’s eyes glow a golden color and in the next instant the headmaster and the boy are gone with a yellow flash.
‘What?” Jason goes over where they were last but finds nothing. They disappeared.
‘The blond boy’s eyes glowed golden, just like how mine did when the red lightning shattered the mirror except mine were red’, Jason thinks while he heads back to his room. When he enters the room Dr. Cromwell is sitting in the chair next to the bed reading something on a clipboard.
“Ahh you’re back. How are you feeling?” she gets up and walks to him.
“I'm fine”. She leads him back to the bed and he gets in.
“Alright then everything is set for your release,” she says in a cheerful tone, “ So now that you’re all healthy what are you going to do? Are you going to accept the headmasters offer or are you going back home?”
“Wait he didn't tell you?”
“Tell me what?” Confusion is written on her face.
‘Why did he not tell her?’
“Nothing. Can I ask you some questions before I decide?”
She notices that he’s trying to hide something but says nothing. “Sure. Go ahead”.
“How did the headmaster disappear into nothing?”
“Did you see a blond boy next to him?” Jason nods. “It was him. The academy's treasurer. His gift is teleportation to any place he’s ever been to”.
Jason nods. ‘That makes sense. I think?’
“Okay. What exactly will I learn and do in this academy?”
“Cain Academy is a normal school except that it's student body is made up of people with abilities.”
Jason nods again. He wants to ask more questions but it seems Dr. Cromwell is not privy to the answers he wants to know. The headmaster is the only one that has answers .It's decided he has to go to the academy to find out the answers he seeks.
“So have you decided?”
Jason nods,”Take me to the academy”.
