Calculating the days, Noelle realized that her period had indeed been late for several days.
With that, she stopped thinking entirely. When Hendrix grabbed her hand, she didn't resist and just numbly followed him forward,
As Brandon stepped out of the private room, he happened to witness this scene. His brows immediately furrowed, and he instinctively moved to stop Noelle.
But Hendrix quickly glanced at him. "This is between the two of us. Mr. Quinlan, you'd better not interfere." Hendrix's tone was emotionless, but the warning was clear
Brandon froze in his tracks and then turned his gaze back to Noelle.
"I'm fine," Noelle quickly said.
Before Brandon could say anything, Hendrix had already pulled her out of the restaurant.
Hendrix stopped at the pharmacy before going back to the hotel.
When he placed the items into Noelle's hand, she seemed startled, biting her lip as she said, "Shouldn't we go to the hospital?"
"Only the emergency room is open right now. Or, if you prefer, I can make a call and have someone arrange it for you," Hendrix replied.
As soon as he suggested it, Noelle immediately refused. That arrangement would surely leak the news. This was the last thing she wanted to happen.
"Let's test it first," Hendrix said calmly. "You can go to the hospital for a blood test tomorrow morning." His demeanor remained composed-so composed to the point that it seemed... like he had plenty of experience.
At this point, Noelle couldn't ask hith anything else. She simply tightened her grip on the box in her hand. They quickly arrived at the hotel.
Noelle entered the elevator first, with Hendrix following closely behind her.
"I can test it myself," she said when she noticed that he kept following her.
"Don't misunderstand. I only care about the child," replied Hendrix.
The Freemans prioritized their bloodline, and of course, Noelle knew. Moreover, not long ago, Hendrix had mentioned that he might have other family matters to deal with. So, his tension seemed understandable.
Noelle's mind grew even more chaotic.
What if she was really pregnant? Based on Hendrix's attitude, he probably wouldn't let her terminate the pregnancy, right?
And he definitely wouldn't let her raise the child on her own. Would he take the child away? Or would they raise it together?
But they were already divorced.
The more she thought about it, the more confused Noelle became. Her brows furrowed tighter and tighter.
"Test first," Hendrix said, and added, "We can discuss after the results come out."

Noelle didn't speak again, silently taking the pregnancy test into the bathroom.
Hendrix watched her retreating figure for a moment before silently sitting down on the nearby couch. His phone showed several missed calls.
They were from the people at the dinner, wondering why he had left without a word.
His sudden appearance had already made them nervous, and now, he had left abruptly. Those people were probably unable to enjoy their meal anymore.
Hendrix didn't offer much of an explanation. He simply told them he had to leave due to urgent matters and that they should continue without him.
Before anyone could respond, he hung up.
He then pulled out a cigarette and a lighter.noveldrama
He had almost lit the cigarette, but he quickly remembered something. He extinguished the cigarette, crushing it into the empty ashtray beside him.
Then, he looked in the direction of the washroom.
Noelle had been in there for quite some time now.
