Way above the clouds, Heirloom and Erma have been hovering over the spiky mountains while staring down at a pearl-white, three headed dragon.
Heirloom: [This is going to be the toughest fight since the demon lord,]
Erma growled. Feeling sorry for dragging her into this, Heirloom pat her head.
Heirloom: [You still haven't recovered since then, but Hydra isn't stronger than him. We can win this time.]
The scales that covered Heirloom when he went to the village reappeared, but this time they were a lot more visible. Pale lizard scales formed over the coldest parts of his body, eventually getting all over his hands and under his eyes. It was below freezing up there, but neither the dragon nor Heirloom seemed to be bothered.
Heirloom started smiling as he watched the strongest dragon release a blue flame from it's three lungs. The temperature in the air drastically increased, even causing Heirloom's scales to lose visibility.
Heirloom kicked one of Erma's scales which seemed to have indicated that he wanted her to dive down towards Hydra. He reached for the grip of his shadow black sword as he jumped off the dragon.
Heirloom: [Come back for me!]
His cardinal red cape and crimson red eyes trailed behind him as his blade began to shine a bright turquoise, gaining the attention of the dragon below him.
Once again, the dragon let out a screech that somehow managed to decrease the speed Heirloom was falling at, which even surprised him. His original plan to cut one of the heads off was drastically changed. Thanks to his tampered speed, he was only capable of pulling off a simple stab. He switched positions from falling head first towards the dragon, to having his long blade under his feet while his head was above his shoulders.
As he was falling, his speed began to pick up once again. He was going at approximately one hundred and seventy-nine miles an hour, the wind pushing against his face was incomparable and how he managed to survive it was unknown. The turquoise aura around his blade began to leave a trail over him.
The second he made impact on the pearl white, three headed dragon, everything went white for a fraction of a second and the sound of shattering iron filed the air. It took him a moment to notice, but his dragon slayer blade broke into thousands of shards when it came into contact with the single scale. Astonished, he pulled back the rest of sword and ran down it's neck like a road.
Heirloom frightened: [Erma!]
He jumped in the air expecting to hop onto Erma, but he didn't notice the enormous dragon tail coming towards him.
His heart rate increased dramatically, but he was saved last second by his crimson dragon that had picked him up by colliding right into him with her wing. Thanks to the strength of his armor he didn't feel a thing. Heirloom hugged his pet the moment he got back on.
Heirloom: [What would I do without you?]
He cried. Erma growled for a short duration of time.
Heirloom regaining confidence: [You're right. We have to take him down soon.]
Erma growled again, but this time Heirloom just lifted the shattered sword and stared at it. Another growl from Erma, as if she was talking to Heirloom somehow.
Heirloom: [It was the strongest forged blade in all of the northern kingdoms.]
He threw the blade off into the mountains and grinned.
Heirloom: [But that's what you'd expect from western monsters.]
Erma zoomed passed one of the dragon's heads while Heirloom stared at the massive beast. Compared to Erma it was like a skyscraper, almost forty times the size. Without a blade, Heirloom had no other option but to resort to magic.
His eyes began to form an aura that trailed them whenever they moved and a super dense flame-like aura suddenly appeared around his body.
Heirloom softly: [Give me your strength, Erma.]
A black and red electrical current around Erma zapped it's way towards Heirloom's cardinal armor. There it went through the small gaps in between his shoes and circulated around him until it reached his torso. Once there, the lightning began to mess around with Heirloom's armor, changing its color to a glossy black and slimming it down quite drastically.
He dubbed this form, 'Wars End'. The last time he had used it was when he challenged the demon lord to gain an army of his own. Though he lost, he was considered a formidable foe and was given Omar as a reward.
With this new armor and black lightning zapping around him, Heirloom jumped above Erma with great force to reach the head of the beast. It took him an insanely long time to make it to the eye of the center head. He leaped while Erma was at the center of the dragon's neck, and it took Heirloom an entire minute to each the top with a full powered leap.
Once there, Heirloom took a large inhale of the frosty air which slightly froze his lungs, but it quickly defrosted as a bright red flame ignited and rose to the top of his throat. With all the air pent up inside him, he widely opened his mouth and released all of it. Because of the flame now in his throat, the oxygen he built up blew on the flame and released a large burst out his mouth.
He was breathing fire right into Hydra's center head's eye. It quickly shut it and backed away while one of the other heads came towards Heirloom with it's jaw wide open. The fire breath he used had run out and he was beginning to fall. While falling, the dragon kept up with his speed, slowly dropping as he did. However, before the dragon could get to Heirloom, Erma came to the rescue once more, swooping him away from Hydra and further back down to it's neck.
Heirloom: [I weakened one! I'm going back up.]
Again, he jumped off Erma and reached the chin of the head that tried eating him. There, he powered up a fist and delivered a punch so powerful that it dented one of the scales inward and made the head screech.
He started falling back down, but this time Erma didn't get him up. From the back of his armor, cardinal red wings sprouted and enabled him the ability to fly just like a dragon. He did a swoop before he hit the floor and flew towards Erma with a grin.
Erma smiled as she saw Heirloom flying right beside her. Heirloom looked at her and smiled widely.
Heirloom cheerfully: [We got this!]
Erma boosted ahead of him, circulating around the head Heirloom punched while he followed behind her.
They both flew up to both of it's eyes, built up a flame, and released the burning heat into the dragon's eyes simultaneously. It continued to squeal as it fell back with both its eyes shut tight.
Erma gave Heirloom a nod as a signal to seal the beast up. Forgetting that the third head had still been standing, he flew down to the body of the beast at his top speed. Heirloom was going so fast that his aura and the lightning around could hardly keep up. In no time, he ended up cutting through the sound barrier.
He opened his inventory and pulled out a white slip of paper that had a stain of blood in between a circle of characters. It looked to have been written in Japanese. Translated, the text read: "Blood Pact Seal"
While falling at this speed, he couldn't control himself. From the corner of his eye he noticed a large scaly object coming his way. Erma could see it clearly from her point of view. It was Hydra's tail, and it was going to smack him like an MLB pitcher with a bat. She charged towards him in an attempt to save him, but it was too late.
The beast's tail crashed into Heirloom's left wing, crushing it and throwing Heirloom right into the edge of a mountain. What happened to Heirloom's wing also happened to Erma, making her wings shatter and lose her altitude. She was falling to the ground like a space rock, but to hydra it looked like nothing but a rain drop.
Thanks to his armor which had shattered when he collided into the mountain, he managed to survive. The dust cleared and revealed his broken state. His body was pushed into the mountain, caving in a space where he sat deprived. His armor was in shards underneath him yet his remaining wing stood strong. Heirloom coughed uncontrollably until the dust cleared out completely, and his vision was hazy.
From his distance, he could see Erma falling towards the ground at an alarming rate. He tried getting up, but that just resulted in multiple organs falling apart. He fell back in pain and watched Erma in despair.
Heirloom to himself: [I... can't...]
He coughed out a puddle of blood.
Heirloom whimpering: [Erma...]
The Hydra let out a cry as the other two heads were slowly healing back to their original state.
His vision blacked out.
*
Soft voice: [Heirloom,]
Heirloom opened his eyes in fear while hyperventilating. He seemed to have suddenly appeared in a pink flower field where the wind gently blew on the field giving off a feeling of serenity.
Soft voice happily: [You're alive!]
He turned around and saw a short girl with smooth skin standing with tears in her small eyes and a smile that seemed so hurt, but happy.
Heirloom: [Who are you?]
He began to inspect her with his eyes. Long black hair with a red streak highlight running from the top to bottom. She was well built- had the body of a goddess, but he was shocked when he looked into her eyes. Her slit pupils along with the crimson red iris, he had no doubt that she was like him... an Asian dragon tamer.
Soft voice: [It's okay if you don't recognize me.]
She looked into his eyes with her peaceful smile.
Soft voice: [I'm Erma.]
Heirloom took several steps back and reached into his pockets. He noticed that he had no weapons, no armor... then he noticed he had no clothes. Without hesitation, he pulled himself back and covered his crotch. The girl chuckled.

Embarrassed and blushing, Heirloom turned around.
Heirloom: [Erma is a dragon. You're a dragon tamer.]
Erma: [I don't have much time to explain, but all dragon tamers are highly developed dragons. This area we are in is my subconscious plain, which we both shared with you during our link.]
Heirloom turned to look around, and noticed an endless dark void on the other side of the flower field. Plastered all over the dark void were miniature screens that would enlarge themselves as Heirloom walked by them. Completely forgetting he was butt naked, he walked up to the first mini screen he saw.
Playing on the screen was a black and white motion picture of a moment he vaguely remembered. The humanized Erma walked up to him and looked over his shoulder.
Erma softly: [That was when you tamed me. The first time we met.]
In the video, Heirloom was in a forest. Everything was monotoned except for the clothes Heirloom was wearing. He had a bright red T-shirt peeking through a white and black bomber jacket that had a dragon logo under his left shoulder. The red on the shirt and his eyes really stuck out and looked like they had this dim glow around them.
While walking around in the forest, he came across a sleeping crimson dragon lying in the middle of nowhere. At first he was scared, but slowly came to realize that there was nothing to fear. The dragon slightly opened its eyes after hearing the screaming of a human, but didn't do anything but watch it shiver.
The dragon was friendly, Heirloom couldn't sense a single hint of malice. He walked up to it with a blood pact seal paper and placed it onto the dragon's nose. Still no response from the dragon.
Heirloom smiled softly and placed his forehead onto the dragon's nose and whispered,
Heirloom: [That's what happened?]
The dragon shut its eyes and purred.
Heirloom: [Don't worry, you'll be safe with me. Erma.]
Back in real time,
Heirloom: [That was four years ago. Are these your memories?]
Erma: [Our memories. Ones we share with one another. Things only the both of us know.]
In awe, Heirloom began to look around.
Heirloom: [Why are we here though?]
He has a sudden flash memory of what happened before he blacked out.
Heirloom: [ERMA! YOU'RE ABOUT TO DIE! WE HAVE TO-]
Erma: [There's nothing we can do, master.]
Hearing her tell him that any effort was futile surprised him.
Erma: [We both have fractured wings, so flying isn't an option. Your body is also broken to even the smallest organ. It will take you a long time to heal from that.]
Heirloom made a fist and clenched his teeth.
Heirloom: [All this from a single attack.]
Erma: [Hydra is out of our league. It was stupid of you to challenge it.]
Erma kept her peaceful soft smile as Heirloom fell to the ground.
Erma: [I admire your gumption, master. I always have.]
Erma grabbed onto her chest and shirt and pinched her shirt with a breath. Heirloom looked up at her with tears forming in his eyes.
Heirloom: [There has to be a way I can save you. I can't let you die because of me.]
Erma releasing a breath: [There is one way.]
Heirloom stood up.
Erma: [There are three forms of linking,]
Heirloom: [Skip the story!]
Erma squirming: [It requires physical contact I know you wouldn't want to do!]
Heirloom grew nervous,
Erma: [We'll have to kiss in this dimension.]
Heirloom: [Is that all?]
Erma: [What do you-]
Heirloom grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes. At that moment, both their eyes changed into a bright shade of red.
Erma: [Master, are you-]
Heirloom softly: [To keep you alive, I'm willing to do anything. Also, call me Heirloom, please.]
Erma: [But–!]
Heirloom started leaning in for the kiss and surprised her. She quickly recouped and leaned in too.
Once their lips touched, the Erma falling in the normal world and the knocked out Heirloom began to shine a blinding white light. While the light was shining, the three Hydra heads turned around to avoid losing their eyesight.
*
A beam of light shot out of the glow that was around Erma and made its way to Heirloom's body faster than the eye could see. This tied the two of them together and even stopped Erma from falling.
Everything went silent.
The moment the two released the kiss, they vanished from the subconscious plain and returned to their bodies. However, rather than going back to the way they were before, Heirloom opened his eyes to a completely healed body, armor repaired and buffed, along with his eye color changing to a bright red and a red string of hair reaching down to his shoulder.
On Erma's side, once the light dimmed, her human figure could be seen falling with her wings slightly resembling the ones Heirloom had behind him. She had a black and red scale dress on that reached to her toes and gradually lost opacity as it went down her body. It was different from the rose dress she had on in the subconscious plain, but it resembled her dragon form a lot more.
Overjoyed, Heirloom stood up and watched as she swooped when she nearly hit the floor and gained control over her speed. She hurried her way to Heirloom and gave him a big hug when she made it.
Heirloom: [Thank god!]
The both of them started uncontrollably laughing. Heirloom had several questions about Erma's new form, but they were overshadowed by the excitement that she was still alive. They released their hug and looked towards the Hydra.
Erma: [We both received a massive power boost! We should be able to take it down more easily now.]
Heirloom: [Yeah!]
Heirloom dashes forward and completely broke through the sound barrier the second he raised his foot. He left behind a trail of lightning which made it easier to tell where he was going.
With his fixed wings, he flew up to the head of the dragon he first attacked and prepared a fist powered up with half his strength. Without even delivering the blow, he could tell this was going to do a lot more damage.
BOOOOOOM
The clash created an explosion that sent both Heirloom and the Hydra flying opposite directions. Shocked of his own power, it took him a while to spread his wings and begin soaring again. Erma hopped off Heirloom's indent in the wall and flew towards him while she watched the Hydra struggle to spread its wings.
Heirloom: [It's heads aren't working together,]
Erma with a chuckle: [That's what happens when you sleep for over a thousand years.]
The enormous dragon flapped its wings, and the pressure from the wind blew both Heirloom and Erma away. While flapping its wings and floating above ground, a barrier made of wind formed around the Hydra.
Erma: [We won't be able to get close to him while taking this form. We need to take down its barrier!]
The hydra let out a cry. The single punch from Heirloom seemed to have done a lot of damage.
The Hydra entered its second stage.
Heirloom: [How are we supposed to get through a fucking wind barrier?!]
Erma: [With enough force,]
She charged up a dash,
Erma: [You can get through anything!]
She flew above the flying dragon with a ball of flames in her hands. Heirloom felt a gust of wind after she dashed forward.
With a gentle breeze, she accelerated downward and went flying towards the barrier like a bullet. She cracked the sound barrier and zipped into Hydra's barrier like it was glass, leaving shards of wind falling towards the ground. Amazed, Heirloom's wings started wagging back and forth.
The majestic trail of flames that followed behind her eventually picked up its pace when she came near to the Hydra's middle head and punched it downward, sending it crashing down to the ground and disarming its barrier. Erma left a gigantic hole in the middle of the dragon's head, killing it and enraging the other two.
Erma: [Hurry! Before it regenerates!]
Regaining his cool, Heirloom flew over with his lightning trailing behind him.
While the middle head of the Hydra was regenerating, the remaining heads screeched and tried biting Erma as she flew around like a fly. Heirloom made it in less than a second, and as he raised a fist, Erma charged up a fire breath with so much breath she looked like she had gotten pregnant.
Heirloom landed his hit on the Hydra's right head with enough force to completely blow it off, sending it straight to a mountain. The beast's neck was gushing blood out like a water fountain, getting red stains all over heirloom's pitch black armor. After landing the punch, Heirloom also charged his flames up, but not nearly as much as Erma.
Simultaneously, they blew enormous blue flames from their mouths that completely changed the temperature of the atmosphere around them. Heirloom targeted his flames towards the neck of the Hydra he just punched, while Erma focused on the remaining head. Her flames burnt the remaining head to a crisp while Heirloom's fried the beasts meat like steak.
Erma: [Seal it up!]
Heirloom landed on the Hydra's neck and began to slide down it in a skateboarding position. He opened his inventory and took out another "Blood Pact Seal", but this time he covered his thumb with the blood splattered around his armor and stamped it on the sheet of paper.
Feeling the wind blow on his face and the miniature shocks from the lightning made him excited, smiling and laughing out of pure joy like a little kid. Hearing his laughs from above, Erma smiled softly as she watched him slide down the severed head of the world's toughest dragon. Heirloom hopped off Hydra's neck and dived down to the body like a lightning charged bullet.
Slamming the sheet of paper onto the dragon's body, an immediate reaction came from the atmosphere around him.
All of the cold air was pushed away, and forming around him was a sphere of pure energy- completely transparent and releasing bolts of lightning around it. The sphere pushed anything that wasn't Heirloom or the dragon, including oxygen and canceled out the gravitational pull towards the world's core. There was no sound, light within the sphere was completely obsolete and there was no concept of time nor reality.
It was just Heirloom and the Hydra in an empty space for a fraction of a second. The sphere shrunk and vaporized in a millisecond, let out a small flare, then caused an enormous lightning condensed tornado around and above Heirloom.
Heirloom: [AAAAAAHHHHH!!!]
He was putting a ton of pressure into forcing the seal into the Hydra's body. Everything that was pushed away by the sphere was being sucked back in by the tornado. The Hydra began to screech some more, making Heirloom's ears leak blood drops that went up with the tornado.
This whole minute of chaos all faded away within a split second, as the Hydra suddenly vanished and the tornado around Heirloom quickly merged in with the wind. With the seal changing colors into a pearly-white, Heirloom slowly started plummeting to the ground.
Recuperating from the wind pressure, Erma flew down and saved Heirloom from hitting the ground. She looked at his knocked out body with the same supple smile she had in the subconscious plain.
Erma: [You did it!]
She took the Hydra's seal and a tear formed in her eyes.
Erma: [You actually beat the god of dragons!]
To her surprise, a large door creaked open like an aged wooden door leading to a basement. With Heirloom in her hands, she dived down to the large door and looked through it cautiously. A dim light glowed in the pitch black cave.
Erma: [What the-]
She heard a pebble clash against the ground and immediately raised her guard. It took her a moment to realize that it wasn't anything, and sighed.
Erma: [I sense something powerful here, but master is asleep.]
She looked at his resting body.
Erma: [I'll wake you up if anything happens.]
She charged forward with her aura lighting up the dark.
After walking through a long corridor, she came across a long sword sitting smack dab in the center of a concrete slab. Its blade was sticking in the concrete while the handle was standing out. The sword was what was emitting such a menacing aura.
Erma: [Could this be?]
She let out a chuckle.
Erma: [No way! The Dragon Master's blade!]
Heirloom let out a groan and slightly opened his eyes to Erma's excitement.
Heirloom: [Why are you so happy?]
He looked over to the blade and stared at it with a bland expression.
Heirloom: [Sweet, a new sword.]
He got on his own two feet and walked over to the sword. Squeezing the grip with both his hands, he stretched his shoulders and licked his lips.
Erma: [Wait!]
Heirloom turned to her.
Erma: [That's not just any ordinary sword.]
Confused and tired, Heirloom narrowed his eyes.
Erma: [It's the Dragon Master's sword. Only a dragon master is capable of taking it out. We shouldn't-]
Shinng
Heirloom ripped the blade out of the concrete and began to observe it. Erma stared at him dumbstruck.
Heirloom: [It's pretty light,]
He swung it around a bit.
Heirloom: [Nothing I can't get used to. Now, let's go form an army under Ruby's name.]
He walked passed Erma while slipping the blade into a casing.
Heirloom: [A war is blooming.]
