Chapter #35: Buying a mansion

...

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line as Darius straightened up, knowing from Zastan's tone that this conversation was important. "I'm listening, Young Master. What's on your mind?"

Zastan wasted no time getting straight to the point. He laid out his plans in detail, explaining every step and decision he had made to ensure his safety after the night's events. "Good. First," Zastan began, "I'm putting the expansion plans for Eternal Enchantment on hold. It's too risky to focus on that right now. Instead, I want to ramp up production at the metal rod factory to 100,000 rods a day. I'll need those for something bigger later on."

Darius nodded on the other end, already scribbling down notes.

"Understood. Anything else?"

"Yeah," Zastan continued. "I'm going to invest heavily in security. I've already spent 100,000 points to purchase more MK3 Biochemicals. We need their strength and intelligence to ensure we're prepared for any future threats. I've also invested in advanced weapons and other security measures. And now... I'm looking to buy a mansion."

Darius paused briefly. "A mansion?"

"Exactly. A place outside the city, in the suburbs. Something isolated but also fortified. We'll turn it into a fortress. Steel walls, electric fences, and a full security system. I want the biochemicals to patrol the grounds 24/7, but they'll remain hidden from the public eye. We'll only have a few visible, posing as regular staff, to keep things discreet."

Darius took notes carefully, nodding along as Zastan outlined his vision. "I'll handle it," Darius said confidently. "We'll find the right property, and I'll make sure the security is top-notch. No blind spots, no weaknesses."

After a moment, Zastan asked, "What's your opinion on all of this, Darius? Anything I'm missing?"

Darius took a deep breath, reviewing the plans mentally before responding. "It's a solid plan, Young Master, but there are a few shortcomings. For one, the number of biochemicals you're allocating might be a bit too high. We don't want to draw unnecessary attention. Maybe reduce the visible presence outside and keep the rest for internal security. Second, the metal rod production. 100,000 a day, we need to get a bigger warehouse since after the upgrade from the previous one made the warehouse somewhat crowded with machines."

Zastan listened carefully, nodding as Darius spoke.

...

Days passed, and Darius moved swiftly, as always. He scoured the real estate market for the perfect property, looking for something that met

Zastan's criteria. It didn't take long for him to find the ideal place. It is a stunning $20 million mansion located in a secluded area of the suburbs. The moment Darius laid eyes on it, he knew it was perfect for Zastan's needs.

The mansion was a modern architectural marvel, surrounded by high steel walls that provided security without sacrificing elegance. On top of the walls were electric fences, seamlessly integrated into the design to provide additional protection. The long, private driveway led up to a grand entrance framed by towering columns. The exterior was sleek and minimalist, with a combination of glass, stone, and steel creating a fortress-like appearance.

Inside, the mansion was just as impressive. The entrance opened up to a massive foyer with polished marble floors, a grand staircase, and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The living spaces were spacious, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that offered views of the expansive grounds. The property boasted several luxurious amenities, including a private cinema, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fully equipped gym, and a state-of-the-art security room where all the surveillance footage would be monitored in real-time.

The grounds surrounding the mansion were also impressive. The vast gardens were perfectly maintained, with tall trees providing natural cover and additional privacy. Hidden among the greenery were several vantage points for the biochemicals to patrol without being seen. The property also had multiple hidden entry points, designed to allow Zastan's biochemicals to move in and out discreetly.

Before Zastan moved in, Darius hired a top-tier security company to install high-definition cameras around the property. The cameras were strategically placed to ensure there were no blind spots, and the feed would be monitored 24/7. Every corner of the mansion would be under surveillance, giving Zastan the peace of mind he needed.

When Darius sent Zastan the pictures of the mansion, Zastan couldn't help but be impressed. The sleek design, the security features, and the luxurious interior were exactly what he had envisioned. The high walls and electric fences made the property feel secure, while the beautiful architecture gave it a sense of grandeur and comfort.

"This is perfect," Zastan thought as he scrolled through the pictures. The mansion had everything he needed to turn it into his fortress with complete privacy, top-tier security, and large space for his biochemicals to ensure there were no gaps in his defenses.

Despite the downside of being farther from the city, Zastan knew this was the best move for his safety. He could travel when needed, but here, in the suburbs, he could finally build the secure haven he required. With the arrangements in place, it was time to turn the mansion into his base of operations.

A fortress that no enemy could breach.

...

In a dimly lit warehouse, rows of Biochemicals worked meticulously, packing large guns of all sizes into secure wooden containers. The precision in which they operated was rather impressive. Each weapon carefully handled and packed to avoid damage. As Zastan observed the process, he saw a few MK3s carrying the heavier containers effortlessly, while the MK2s moved more swiftly, ensuring the operation ran smoothly.

Zastan's eyes moved to one corner, where a large truck was parked, ready to transport the weapons. He watched as the Biochemicals began loading the truck, carefully arranging the containers inside. Once the truck was half-filled with the boxes of guns, another group of Biochemicals began covering the containers with iron ore, using the heavy metal to conceal what lay beneath.

Zastan nodded approvingly, a sense of satisfaction creeping in. "It's discreet enough", he thought, feeling more at ease knowing how carefully the operation was being handled. Hiding the weapons in plain sight was a necessary precaution, and the iron ore provided perfect camouflage.

Finally, as the second truck, now loaded and covered with iron was also sealed, the convoy of two large trucks began their journey toward the mansion. Zastan took a deep breath, feeling a sense of accomplishment as his plans were slowly coming together.

...

Later, as Zastan rested in his office, he received a video call from Darius. He answered it without hesitation, and the screen immediately displayed the view of the mansion's large basketball court. Parked in the center were the two large trucks.

On top of one of the trucks, a few MK3s were already at work, using shovels to remove the iron ore from the back of the truck. With each scoop of iron they shoveled out, a large wooden container began to emerge, revealing the hidden cargo beneath. The weapons, carefully packed and concealed, were finally visible.

Zastan watched as an MK3, without breaking a sweat, lifted one of the heavy wooden containers with ease. The MK3 jumped from the truck, landing gracefully on the ground, where a group of MK2s waited. They quickly took the container and transported it toward the mansion's garage, where a hose had been set up to clean off the dirt and debris. Water splashed over the containers as they were washed and prepared for storage inside the mansion.

This process repeated itself as the Biochemicals worked in great efficiency. One by one, the containers were revealed, lifted from the trucks, cleaned, and stored in the garage. The efficiency of the operation impressed Zastan, even though he had come to expect nothing less from his Biochemicals.

...

After a while, all the containers had been unloaded. The trucks were now empty, except for the remaining chunks of iron that littered the court. The Biochemicals quickly shoveled the iron ore back into the trucks, ensuring that no trace of the operation remained. The court was left spotless, as if nothing unusual had happened.

Satisfied with the seamless execution, Zastan leaned back in his chair, watching the final cleanup process through the video feed. Without realizing it, exhaustion overtook him, and he drifted off to sleep. The last image on his screen was the mansion's basketball court, now cleared and ready, as the trucks began their journey back to the warehouse.

...

Sometime later, Zastan woke up, blinking awake as the sun began to rise outside his office window. The video call had ended, and the mansion was quiet once more. He rubbed his eyes, remembering the successful transport of the weapons.

But before heading to the mansion himself, something tugged at his memory. He had one last thing to take care of.

"Let's go back to the hotel first," Zastan said to his convoy as they prepared to head out. He had some unfinished business to wrap up before he could fully settle into his new fortress. The convoy started to move, and they made their way back to the familiar hotel where Zastan had been staying, knowing it would soon be time to move into his new, secured home.
