Chapter 2

I slowly opened my eyes, my head pounding as if I’d been at a bar for way too long. I tried to rub my eyes, hoping it might help ease the migraine, but something felt wrong. Instead of my usual human hands, I felt something long and sharp rub against my head. Now that I was noticing these changes to my body, I realized I could see much more than my usual eyes ever could. I looked around the damp cave, with moss climbing the walls and small stagnant pools of water scattered across the floor.

I glanced down and saw the most horrific thing I had ever witnessed. It was a fleshy, spider-like claw. The tip was bone, and veins pulsed visibly beneath the grotesque flesh. As I stumbled backward in disbelief, I felt more of them moving. Eight fleshy, spider-like legs in total.

"What the hell am I?" I screamed. The sound came out as more of a screech than anything resembling human speech.

Name: Logan Smith

Species: Flesh Tyrant

Rank: F 1

Essence: 100/100

"What the hell!" I cursed, my words vanishing into the cave's damp air as I collapsed onto the ground. Taking deep breaths, I forced myself to look around again. The cave was the same—dark, damp, and lifeless. Slowly, I rose, my mind racing as I tried to remember how I got here. The name Vrythax surfaced in my memory. Didn’t he say something about me being able to create things? A hive or something like that?

Abilities:

Summon Flesh Queen - Essence 10

Summon Parasite Queen - Essence 10

"I can summon queens?" I muttered to the damp air as if it could provide me with answers. "Might as well give it a try."

It took several minutes of trial and error to figure out how to activate the ability. At first, I thought I needed to touch the words with one of my spider-like legs, but they just phased right through. Weird. Eventually, I realized I only needed to think of the ability’s name for it to trigger.

I scanned the cave, searching for where the queen would appear. A small flash of light caught my eye, and before me stood a grotesque, feminine humanoid figure. Its flesh looked sculpted, almost as if someone had shaped it by hand. The centipede-like appendage that formed its lower body twitched slightly, stretching out behind it for four feet. It stood about five feet tall, but the glistening segments of its backend made it even more imposing. The whole creature exuded a sense of grotesque purpose as if it existed only to serve and destroy.

"Holy crap!" I yelled. The creature tensed and scanned its surroundings, ready to attack. When no threat appeared, it relaxed into a slouched posture. Despite its small size compared to me, it was still intimidating. As I studied it, I realized just how massive I had become. I had to be around twelve feet tall and five or six feet wide, while the queen stood at about five feet, with her centipede-like appendage stretching out behind her.

"Umm, hello?" I tried, wondering if it could speak. It only stared blankly at me, as if it couldn’t even breathe without my permission. "Can you do something?" I asked hesitantly.

Without hesitation, it darted forward with frightening speed, snatching up a lizard from the cave floor. It brought the squirming creature back to me and began reshaping it. The process was both mesmerizing and horrifying. Flesh bubbled and warped as it tore the lizard apart and reassembled it like grotesque clay. Its skin dissolved into pulsing, raw tissue, while bones jutted out in jagged spikes along its spine. The creature’s eyes glowed faintly, milky-white and lifeless, while its jaw split open into a set of serrated mandibles dripping with viscous fluid.

"What the hell is that?" I yelled, recoiling in horror.

Flesh Lizard: F 1

The lizard hissed, emitting a wet, guttural sound as its malformed body twitched unnaturally. Veins throbbed across its exposed musculature, and its claws scraped against the rocky ground with a shrill, metallic noise.

"Oh," I said, anti-climactically, struggling to process the abomination before me. "Ok, you just go do your thing then." Not sure what else to say.

I decided to summon a Parasite Queen deciding it would be better to have one of each. I wonder if they would fight, that would be very interesting. With that thought I mentally triggered the skill Summon Parasite Queen, and another bright flash entered my vision.

What I saw was terrifyingly awesome, after seeing how the Flesh Queen was I wasn't as scared, so it was more fascinating. It was five feet long and barely three tall, it had spider-like limbs that were a little too long for it, they were more spindly, and bone than anything close to an invertebrate. Its skin is pallid, almost translucent which I honestly wish it wasn't because you could see things crawling under it. They looked more like giant worms, or leeches, which would make sense considering it was a Parasite Queen.

Its face was horrifying compared to the skin and legs. It was the face of a small girl with a few strands of damp blonde locks drooping over her face. Her eyes were hollowed out and lifeless, with a black substance streaming out of them. There were small chitinous growths on her forehead, almost looking like a tiara. She also had a nightmare fuel grin that never left her face, showing off her fang-filled mouth. Her torso is also really narrow with small openings, running all along each side of her.

I was almost scared to ask but I did. "What do you do?"

She just stood there staring at me with her grin, when I heard a squelching noise and a thing out the side of her torso and slithered around. It paused raising what I would think was its head and stayed like that for a few minutes. It suddenly tensed up then pounced at a lizard hiding in a shadow under a rock, then proceeded to wiggle its way through its throat. The lizard froze and then started to convulse rapidly, white foam coming out of its mouth. It stopped, then got up and walked over to the Parasite Queen and froze. The Parasite Queen stared up at me, its creepy grin still there.

“Oh, uhm yeah you can go do your thing now,” I coughed out her stare was creepy as hell.

She walked away and somehow she made it freaky with her sporadic movements and body. The lizard was close behind running after her.
