Prologue: Journey to the depths of despair.

Prologue: Journey to the depths of despair.

{Author here: The prologue is rushed just giving you the taste of Raz's personality. You could even skip the prologue to get to the main story where everything starts to pick up.}

The day began as any other day would. Raz did his morning routines, locked up the apartment, and began walking towards his job. The streets were full of people milling about and entering large buildings. The air had a strong scent of smoke as Raz passed under a bridge that had burning trash bins keeping some random bums safe and warm.

"Disgusting blotches on society, don't they know they ruin the cities they are in? How terrible." Raz muttered under his breath as he walked past them, disdain written all over his face. He continued walking and started to hear the sounds of fighting in a nearby alleyway. Raz walked to the entrance and peered in the vandalized and dirty alleyway to see a group of men in ruggish clothing beating down on a poor weak homeless man.

"Take that you old fart! How dare you walk into our territory!" A man with a striped shirt and buzz cut yelled while beating up the homeless man. Raz watched with darkness etched over his face, obscuring what he was thinking. His fists were balled up tightly as he slowly walked into the alleyway. As he walked random lights from the occasional window would illuminate his face to see something truly horrifying. There was a slight grin on his face as if he enjoyed watching the scuffle.

"Gentleman, let me~" Raz pushed past the surprised thugs who didn't expect anyone nearby, he then stopped right in front of the homeless man. His leg shot out and kicked the homeless man in the chest, the force sending him a couple of feet away as he slid onto the ground. The homeless man coughed up blood onto the ground as his eyes were filled with even more terror.

"P-Please, hel- no, s-spare me..." The weakened man wheezed out.

"Spare you? You heard the other men, this is your own fault for walking over here." Raz turned to the stunned thugs who were beginning to react to what all just happened. "You folk don't mind this, right?" The thugs shook their heads and started to back away from Raz thinking he was a crazy man. As they quickly left Raz grabbed onto the collar of the homeless man and dragged him all the way back to the bridge where he dropped him off.

"if I didn't step in you would have been in worse shape, next time this happens I'll actually join in." The man stepped away from Raz and gave him a quiet and simple thanks before he scampered off. Raz, now feeling good about himself continued to walk towards his work when he felt something warm on his stomach. He looks down to see a dark patch of red starting to grow in his clothing, a knife was sticking out of his stomach. Raz looks behind him, feeling his energy sapping as blood starts to dribble down his face. He sees the same homeless man with anger on his face twisting the knife within Raz. Raz tried to move away but a second knife shot into his back, causing increased amount of pain and weakness to ravage his body. Light fades away from his eyes as he slumps down, dead. Raz's consciousness was awoken in a dark abyss where he heard a condescending voice speaking at him on high.

"What a horrible person, you are lucky I am merciful. Shoo Shoo, I am giving you anewed life but it'll be in a world that is as decrepit as your heart, don't worry to much. I will give you a small amount of power so that you can at least grow." Darkness swooshed around Raz as a small prick of light shone, through the light he could see a setting sun inside a dark forest. As the light grew closer, he heard a ding then a soft voice on the wind.
