Book 1: Chapter 8: Let the game begin!

Yo guys! Long time since I posted any chapters.  Sorry.

Anyways, without further ado – enjoy!

----------------------------------------

“Deck!” He yelled. “Summon two hill bears!”

Out from thin air, two large furry creatures on four legs appeared.

The bears had black fur and were about three and a half meters in length.

“Jeez.” Napoleon made a small circle with his mouth. “They are absolutely huge. Even compared to the polar bears on earth!

Full-grown male polar bears in his world were about 240-260 centimeter.

But these bears?

Napoleon rolled his eyes.

They were about 350 centimeters. They also seemed sturdier, stronger and more fierce than normal bears.

“Hmm.” he scratched himself by the eyebrow as he thought.

On the island there were about four trees of six meters in height. “Let’s see.”

“Technically, I could make a kind of catapult… and then use the two bear's weight to propel me up in the air… over to Howard's island?”

But as he though, another problem arose. “But how should I survive the landing…?”

He needed a cushion to make him safely land. Something to slow his speed could go as well.

“Wait...Does he have a lake as well?” He turned around and looked at Howard's island.

“Yeah, he does.” He confirmed it. “That might mean that our islands are exactly the same.”

Napoleon was about to start making the catapult. He summoned the monkeys and panthers to help.

He didn’t dare to summon his fiery hound. What if it mistakenly burned down the tree or caused the island to…

“Holy shit..” He exclaimed. “That’s it.”

What if he used nature’s power to battle Howard? He could build a catapult and send away something on fire to start a fire on the others island.

But of course… Howard could hide in the lake and wait until the fire burns out.

“What if I use the time he hides in the lake to make a bridge to traverse over to his island?"

"Then he won't be able to push me down with his monsters..."

The two islands only had about 8 meters between themselves.

“If I’m going to do that…” he thought. “I’ll have to use one of the trees to make a 6 meters bridge.”

He would have to jump the last two meters to come over on the island.

“But if I turn the island on fire… can I go over then?”

“CRAP WHAT THE HECK SHOULD I DO?” He went nuts. Nothing worked. How was he even going to get over without alerting Howard.

If he didn’t use fire to make Howard take cover in the lake, he wouldn’t be able to go over.

“Wait… do I even need to go over?” His gloomy look turned into a bright shine.

“I can just use my stone throwing apes to turn the island on fire then when Howard takes cover I can make the apes focus their shoots at the lake.”

He could potentially win this easily.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

The apes had a special innate ability to have free ammunition. Since they, compared to other monsters, had to use ammunition the heavenly laws made them being able to have unlimited ammunition.

Pine sap…” He turned around and inspected the trees. “Holy shit, these are pines!”

Sap from pines was very unique. Not only did it have properties which would help if one got wounded, but it was also very sticky and it would very quickly begin to burn if it came in contact with fire.

The panthers would use their claws to scratch the blisters of the pines so he could collect the sap. He would use the trees to make a big fire. He could even use some of the sap to make the trees more easily begin to burn.

“Does that mean that this might be the the correct way to win in this map?” He made a big circle with his mouth. “Is it possible that the heavenly laws made every map with this kind of weakness.”

If he soaked the stones in pine sap, which is very sticky, and covered it with grass then when the stones came in contact with fire, it would turn ablaze.

The grass would burn and the sap would make it stick to the tree.

“Since the lake is only a bit bigger than a meter in diameter, he would have no chance to dodge.”

I can also make a bow and arrow…”

“Never mind. I don’t have a string…”

Napoleon made up his mind and started to cut down the trees to make a fire.

In the meantime, Howard sat on the ground and had panic. “What should I do? Is there even a way to win this?

Howard looked over to see what Napoleon was doing. “What is Napoleon doing? He seems to be moving.”

“Does he know how to get over?” He started to shake. “Will I loose all my monster cards?”

Suddenly, Howard saw a light and some smoke rise in the air from Napoleon's island.

“Is he making a fire? Why?” He didn’t understand how that would help.

“Looks like I’m not the only one to not know what to do.” He sighed.

“Deck!” He yelled.

In his deck he had a couple of monster cards. His started card was a level 2 grass treant. He also had a few common monsters such as a level 2 ground worm, a level 1 grey snake and a level 2 dog.

“Summons grass treant!”

A two meter big tree with eyes and mouth appeared. It had two branches as arms but  no legs. Apparently it was immobile and could only stay in one position.

As he was admiring his “mighty” treant, it suddenly shrieked in horror.

Howard looked into the sky and saw flaming objects flying toward him.

“Whaaaaat!” He screamed in terror

“Water.... Water…. Water…  Lake!” He ran towards the lake.

Under Napoleon's hawk-like eyes, Howard ran to seek cover in the lake.

*HAHAHAHA*

“You think you can get away!?” He stretched his arms and smiled like a mad scientist. “Well, let the game begin!”
