Book 1: Chapter 3: Fire hound vs Phantom tiger
The forest was awfully quiet. As if the dangerous monsters pressure made the weak critters such as; rabbits, deers and so on, unable to utter sound because of the fear instilled.
Napoleon, schooled in many subjects, knew of the behaviour of predators and understood the situation.
“Most likely, I will have to undergo my first battle sooner than I expected” His five senses, hearing, vision, smell, taste and feel, were trained to the limit by years of practice.
His eyes radiated utmost focus, he knew this wasn’t the time to be dallying around.
Suddenly, from the corner of his eyes, saw a shadow mowing in the bushes.
“Summon deck, summon fire hound!” He yelled quickly.
A hound about the size of, well, a hound, materialized in front of him.
“Fire hound, block the opponent’s attack!” He commanded the hound.
Barely seconds after, the shadow he saw lurking in the bushes, leapt towards him.
*Woof* The fire hound obeyed his command and jumped in front of him.
“Sweet, the feeling of making others obey me is as strong as ever” A pleasurable sound came out of his mouth.
*Clang*
The fire hound’s claws and the shadow met and a metallic sound was emitted from the impact.
Napoleon could now see the what kind of creature the opponent was.
It was a tiger. According to the guy’s memory it was a phantom tiger.
“Identify!” After the word came out of his mouth, another scroll appeared in the air.
Every person in this world had the ability to both inspect beasts and enslave them. He used one of the inherent ability of humans, identify.
He read the information in the scroll.
Phantom tiger, lvl 4. A creature known for its speed. With the element of darkness, it executes ambush attacks. Other than ambushes, its overall attack power is about level 3.
“Good. All I have to do now is to wound it enough so that I can enslave it with one of my free cards in the deck.” He thought to himself silently and then commanded his monster once more, “Fire hound, attack!”
His fire hound leapt towards the phantom tiger, slashing its claws towards the vital of the tiger.
*Roar!*
The phantom tiger roared and tried to evade with its high speed. Unfortunately, or fortunately for Napoleon, it couldn’t dodge completely.
*Slash*
The claws made a inch deep wound in the tiger's body.
With the wound on its shoulder, the fight was shortly finished. The tiger was about to bleed out and lay on the ground not able to move.
“Summon deck, use free card on phantom tiger!” Napoleon said.
Out from the deck an image of a gigantic card came out. It enveloped and catched the tiger like a net. According to the former host, it would take about three seconds to catch monsters.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
1 second passed.
The envelope on the tiger was still there.
2 seconds passed.
The tiger struggled to escape, but with its current strength, it was to hard.
3 seconds passed.
*Ding*
The envelope shrunk the tiger, transformed into a card of light and flew to his deck where the image of a phantom tiger appeared beside the fire hound.
“Yes, I succeeded. Let's call the phantom tiger for the leader of Napoleon’s assassins!” He laughed maniacally. Then he continued, “I will have three main divisions; Underground monsters, ground monsters and flying monsters.”
“Of course, only if there are flying monsters and underground monsters. Anyhow, the phantom tiger will be the leader of the ground monsters assassin unit.”
*5 hours later*
“ Ten ground units. two phantom tigers each in level 5. Five stone-throwing apes, four in level 2 and one in level 3. Two hill-bears in level 4. Also, my fire hound is level 6.”
“The stone throwing apes are similar to the artillery in my previous world, they shall stand behind my hill-bears who shall work as protection. My two phantom tigers will go in from the flanks when the fire hound attack head-on.”
After five hours of hunting and catching monster, he had enslaved eight more. The stone-throwing apes were of the stone element and could conjure stones to use as ammunition and throw. The hill-bears would be used as how cavalry was used until he had real cavalry, monsters similar to horses. high attack power, high speed, medium defense.
Since his hound was level six, he was also level six. Every monster would get access to one of their abilities in level ten. His fire hound could example shoot out a ball of fire at enemies.
“I suppose I’ll go back to the village now. I need to properly educate those who killed the former host of this body.” He said and began to make his way back to the village.
“Darling, Napoleon hasn’t come back for… He left for over two days ago…” A woman, most likely in her late fifties, said to the man of similar age who sat beside her.
The man furrowed his brows and said sadly, “I know honey, but we can only hope for the best…”
She looked up towards him and said, “Do.. do you think he… is dead?”
He couldn’t respond, something was stuck in his throat, making him unable to answer.
Seeing the expression on the man’s face, the women understood his thoughts.
The woman began to cry, the man beside her put his arms around her
He hurriedly confirmed her, “Don’t worry, he’ll be back. He must.”
“But..”
*Shhh*
“No buts, he will return to us…” The man once more said.
“He must come back” The man thought, closed his eyes and hugged the woman even tighter.
