-Ria POV-

It had been about two days since I had begun following them and as expected I was able to remain completely hidden from them. Its nothing to be proud of but I had some confidence in my ability to follow them undetected. Like usual I watched in interest as the group of humans began to set up camp for the night. Unlike the group I followed before this group were much more organized almost as if they were taught things like these in advance.

Observing humans was one of my favourite past time as I stalk them. To prevent excess noise I normally limit myself from doing anything that could possibly generate said noise. From my observation so far it seems the man with the yellow hair is in charge. He didn’t look particularly strong yet he radiated a faint aura around him. It seemed familiar to mana I normally leak to detect movement in my territory back when I lived in the cave. If anything the difference was that he had a much better control over his mana than I did.

I had honestly expected it to go smoothly. After they had reached their destination we were never to meet ever again. Not as if they had ever met me to begin with. Things however didn’t go exactly as planned. Call it a moment of carelessness if you will. I had accidently entered into the range in which the yellow haired man could detect me with his mana aura thing. I had no one else to blame but my carelessness but having lighting bolts shot towards you’re general direction isn’t what I would call a pleasant way to spend the night.

He was shouting words such as show yourself coward and various other things as he continued blasting lighting towards me. The rest of the group didn’t seem worried as they didn’t even bother to get up to help. Eventually the man who I have decided to call zappy, since he seemed to like zapping his enemies dashed forward towards my direction. He was much faster than my current form could ever hope to go. I didn’t use partial form in fear of the uncertainty whether my body could bear the strain. I might have fully recovered but I wasn’t willing to use it unless it was absolutely needed.

He was after all intelligent unlike the monster knight I had fought. Perhaps we could come to a mutual understanding of some sort. Since we could never have a conversation at the speed we were going and also because he would have inevitably caught up I stopped hoping form tree to tree and instead jumped onto the forest floor. As I soon as I landed I saw his imposing figure battle ready standing in front of me.

“Hmmm. a demibeast?. What are you doing here?.”

“Ummm I’m sorry sir but I lived in the town that was destroyed. I thought if I followed you I could reach a new town.” With my childish persona I intended to full him into believing I’m but a child who was a victim of the destroyed town. Surely he would have some pity and not attack me. I had even dropped my pride and acted as such. Something useful I learned from my stay in town was that kids seemed to be less suspicious.  My current appearance finally had a use for once.

“I won’t fall for such tricks. If you had indeed been following us since the town I would have noticed you a lot earlier. Do you take me for a fool after seeing you’re display of speed earlier. You are anything but a mere child. Now speak who and what are you. You might as well release you’re foolish illusion.”

Well there goes my brilliant plan. I should seriously start thinking my plans a little more thoroughly. There always seem to be a flaw somehow.

“I wasn’t lying about following you to reach a new town, and this is  my true form so I can’t change my appearance. So I suppose you can’t just let me go just this one time.”

He seemed to be contemplating something before finally he spoke.

“Only if you follow me to the academy where you shall be interrogated shall I spare you.”

I have heard the about this so called academy from the town. It was a place where they train people for the military and had strict rules and such. A boring place with no fun or excitement to be found. With all that said it only took a second before I answered.

“No.”

“If so I have reason to believe you mean harm and I will forcibly bring you back as a criminal until evidence shows otherwise.”

Before I could even reply he dashed forward once again with both his sword in each hand. Like the adventurers before the sword transformed somehow when he poured mana into it. The sword broke into pieces held together by his mana.  Each individual piece seemed to be manipulated by him with his mana. Along with that troublesome weapon of his he even coated every single piece with electricity using his mana.

Is he a idiot of some kind not even letting me try to explain myself a little more. Well since it was too late for words I was forced to rely on my elemental martial arts. Surrounding myself with a barrier of wind to deflect the blades. For combat I had mainly practiced nothing but fire much so I coated my fist and legs in fire and tried to hit him. The result I missed every hit. He seemed to be capable of moving at high speed even in battle which proved to be annoying.

“Double element user? To have affinity with two elements it seems it was right for me to suspect you. Demibeast normally don’t even have a single affinity with any element.”

After saying his part , without even waiting for a reply he connected both of his swords handle. The handle had become extremely long with both of them combined. The pieces of the blades however all gathered at the top of the handle forming what resembled a hammer.

As it was forming he yelled out

“ Smite the souls of the wicked with the wrath of heavens thunder. Mjolnir !!”

The pieces of the blade formed the shape of a hammer head and his mana provided the body. After his hammer had formed he swung it directly towards me. I somehow jumped backwards in time. The hammer crashing into the ground releasing  lighting bolts in every direction on the site of its impact.

He brought his hammer back up and proceeded to swing it releasing a huge bolt of lighting towards me. It was a direct hit. I tried to maintain my balance but the shock had disorientated me, before I had the chance to regain my balance he swung the hammer towards me almost instantly. Well if this situation wasn’t considered urgent I don’t know what is. Hesitating could mean my death so I partial formed my hand and stopped the hammer with it. My hand wasn’t injured but the force of the hammer wasn’t so kind to my legs which had to bear it. I could feel my leg bones fractured. The current that flowed through my body from my hand, made my entire body numb except my partial form hand.

“What you’re hand how.”

Similar to what he did to me over and over again I didn’t allow him to complete his sentence. Using my partial formed hand I had punched him as hard as I could. I had no idea what he was wearing but it was certainly hard to pierce through. Instead of my desired result of piercing through his body, he was merely sent flying quite a distance. My legs were however at this point useless as a method to escape. Instead I formed my wings and flew off into the direction they had been travelling to. I had no intention of staying when he recovered. I could however hear him mutter something like the dragon girl while spitting out a mouthful for blood before I left.

-Mjolnir POV-

The dragon girl was a demibeast. It was useful information but not as useful as actually capturing her. That last blow from her had seriously injured me to the point I didn’t even have the strength to stand. If it wasn’t for my armor I would have perhaps died. After five minutes or so I limped back to the rest of he guys. I seriously regretted telling them to stay back and just continue what they were doing, and that I would handle it. Well at least we have a clearer picture of what the dragon the higher ups want to capture look like.

(Author Note) : hello. As usual i really hope i can get you're opinions and stuff you would like changed and so on. I'm seriously running out of things to say by now i seemed to be repeating. Btw do you guys  think i should name all my chapters?. Fair warning i'm terrible at naming things.
