“Hey, Lucas, aren’t you excited to be at comi-con? I mean, this is so cool!” My best friend, Tommy, asked.
”Yeah, it is pretty cool. I just wish I had the money to buy some souvenirs,” I replied with a sigh.
”Aw, come on, even if we can’t buy anything, we can still enjoy the experience!” Tommy said back, rolling his eyes at me. “Hey, I know, we should go check out whoever’s speaking on stage right now!”
”Alright, alright, let’s go,” I agreed. We walked over to the large crowd of people, pushing our way to the front of the crowd. Tommy and I managed to make our way to the front, where we then just listened to the speaker. The topic was actually pretty interested and the speaker seemed very knowledgeable about it.
All of a sudden, as we were standing in the front row, there was a loud snapping sound. Looking up, I saw that one of the lighting fixtures had broken free. Shoving Tommy and the other people closest to us out of the way, I myself couldn’t move in time. The fixture fell on top of me, crushing me into the floor. I screamed loudly due to the agonizing pain, but after a few seconds, my body went numb.
”Lucas! Please, someone, help him!” Tommy yelled. He looked around the crowd in a panic before rushing over to me. “Hey, man, it’ll be alright! Just-just hold on! I’m sure there are already people who can help you on their way over here.”
”Tom…my,” I said quietly.
”I’m here, man, I’m here. It’ll be fine, you’ll be fine!” He replied, kneeling down next to me.
”Are…you okay?” I asked. “Did any…one else…get hurt?”
”No, you did good, Lucas, you got everyone out of the way in time,” he answered. He then looked at the floor around me, his eyes going wide. He then started yelling something about blood, but I couldn’t quite hear him.
Everything started going quiet and dark. I lay there on the ground, my body numb to all sensations. I fought to keep my eyes open, but eventually, I couldn’t keep them open anymore.
I’m sorry, everyone, I thought. My eyes then closed and everything went completely still.

My eyes opened, and I was immediately blinded by bright lights. I squinted and waited for my eyes to just, and once they had, I looked around. Glancing around the room, I realized that it was some kind of hospital room.
Oh, guess I didn’t die after all. Someone must’ve got me to the hospital in time, I thought. However, as I was thinking this, I then saw a doctor looming over me.
”Congratulations! The baby is a healthy boy!” The doctor said, picking me up. He then walked over to a hospital bed where a beautiful but weak-looking young woman lay wearing a hospital gown. “Here, Mrs. Wheaton.”
I was then handed to the woman, who held me tightly. That was when I realized that I must’ve been reincarnated in another world as a newborn baby. Freaking out some, I began squirming in her arms.
”Shh, it’s alright, it’s alright. Mommy’s got you,” the woman said, rocking me back and forth. It was oddly comforting, and I was able to relax and calm down. Stretching, I realized how tired I was. I fell asleep in my mother’s arms, feeling very safe and comfortable.

After about a week or so in the hospital, both of us were discharged. My dad, who was a large, burly man with a big beard and short hair, drove us home. Also, I had learned that my mother’s name was Petunia and my father’s name was James. They had been married for about two years and I was their first child, who they had named Charles.
However, what I had found most interesting, was what I discovered while in the hospital. It seems I possess some kind of video game system, but for the moment, I don’t know how to use it.
Oh well, I’m sure I’ll figure it out, I thought. And once I figure it out, I’ll become the strongest in the world!
