Stranded

How long has it been since that incident? I didn't understand what the hell was going on. Oh well... I wish I could've had more time... with them.

I slowly opened my eyes, and I saw large treetops hovering over my face.

I can only hear the sound of trees, roughly brushing down against the leaves. I heard loud cries coming from behind me. High-pitched cries, fitting for a small newborn girl. Wait, that's Teriana isn't it?

The rain stopped, and all I could hear was wildlife. Where did they take us? And also, why the hell is no one looking for us yet?! How far are we from our parents?

I was forced to accept my fate.

We're vulnerable; we're going to die, we've been stranded, it's all over. My short-lived reincarnated life is finished right before my very eyes. I wasn't even given the chance of growing up. The people in that kingdom are cruel, or must I say, that the rulers of that kingdom are ruthless. Wow, and I didn't even get to see Teriana grow up just yet. Why was I reincarnated again?

Newborns are drastically vulnerable to anything; that's why their parents protect them and care for them. But, now... we don't have any loving parents. We both can't walk, we can't speak, we can't move. The only thing we can do is wail and cry for help.

I heard birds chirping from above. Judging by that, it seems they must identify that small newborns are food. Seriously what is in us that is so good. Well, I don't blame them, if they saw us eat their own kind; they would be pretty furious too.

The birds don't look like the ones on Earth. They have an odd hue pattern on their feathers. A dark black and a bright magenta color spanned across their wings. They had weirdly blue luminescent curved-shaped beaks, and their eyes glowed a bright blue as well.

Hell, even their chirps are mysterious. This is definitely a fantasy world, I'm sure. I swear if I see magic; then this is a fantasy world. I really, really hope I don't die when I'm a day old.

Please... don't kill us. Don't be vultures, be eagles or pigeons. I don't care; birds just don't end our lives. I could hear little Teriana crying right beside me.

"Wahhh. Wahhh... Wahhh!!"

Teriana; wailing as loud as she could. Seriously, doesn't she know to keep quiet if there is a predator hunting her? Yet, the birds still haven't dived down and ate our souls yet; so I guess that's a win, correct?

I just hope we don't get devoured alive by animals. I want to live in a fantasy world and live a better life. To live life to the fullest! Unlike my previous one.

A memory filled my head. The memory of my parents, crying and screaming at me for leaving them when I was seventeen years of age.

"Get out if you're not going to obey our orders."

"You failed an exam, good luck on your future child."

Seriously, I can't believe I have 'those' types of parents. Seriously, it gave me a chill down my spine. The look on their faces looked truly traumatized. Like they were both angry and sad that they saw me walked out the door. I don't care. My past parents did nothing for me.

Two hours have passed, and somehow we are both alive in the wilderness. Teriana stopped crying, and I was beyond afraid. What can I do? I'm a newborn child, I can't do anything.

Then I heard growls. Growls that sounded like a hungry canine or simply to put it, the growls that sounded like a wolve's. This is literally the worst fate I have so far. I can't do anything; neither can Teriana. All we can do... is just pray.

The wolves slowly approached our way.

I could see that they had thick grey fur and long sharp teeth. The wolves don't look like any of the kind on Earth, thus enforcing the idea that this world is a fantasy world.

Their saliva slowly seeped through their mouths, and their daunting eyes pierced through our souls. This is the end. It's over. I and Teriana are food; that's how it ends.

But soon as the pack of hungry wolves tried to approach us, I could hear a loud, feminine-sounding voice coming from the right side of me.

"Ensure the strength that is--"

Suddenly, four large purple bolts strike the wolves and immediately slain them in an instant. Their ashes slowly rise up to the air. Then, I heard footsteps, gradually approaching closer to us. I could see her long lavender hair, touching down on her back. She wore a beautiful magenta earring on her right ear.

She has yet another large chest. Wow, this world is filled with gorgeous individuals. It's really making me hate on myself that I'm a baby. Ugh, typical... reincarnation. She wore unfamiliar clothing; it almost matches the hue of her hair. I could feel her gentle hands; pressing on my body. She looks young.

"Dear children, why are you stranded like this? Y-You shouldn't be... who could be so cruel to abandon their newly born child?"

Even her voice sounded soothing. Who is this masterpiece of a woman? She's beautiful!

"Now, now... you two are no filthy demons; you two are of the brightest angels."

Aww, t-that compliment... made me tear up a bit on the inside and out. Well, I am a baby... so I guess that explains why I'm crying so much. I can see her amethyst-colored eyes; then saw a minor look of rage surrounding her pupils. Yeah, I would be mad at those guards at well. The woman spoke to us.

"If only the corrupt Kingdom of Zomrack were not so cruel against your race. I-It... no one should leave such angels stranded in the forest. C-Come on... I'll take you to my house. I always wanted children. But, if I'm a Witch, there's no possible way I can have one. If you're born a witch, there is this certain barrier that blocks your reproduction rate. The witch race tried to craft our own children from our magic, b-but that doesn't w-work. They all misunderstood us, we're not..."

She slowly stopped, and stared at both of us, with her gleaming purple eyes. Her youthful look on her face; that smile... I can tell that the woman's smile sparked her heart. W-Wait did she just say she's a witch?!

"There's no point in explaining to you cute perfections. Even if we tried to craft a child with our magic; there would've been no good result. You're too young to understand me anyway."

Nope, I can understand you clear as day. Well, she doesn't know that, I guess.

As the gentle ambiance of the forest filled all of our ears, the witch slowly shook her head and lightly giggled. I could see her long lavender hair; fluctuating whilst the sun beamed on it. She's really beautiful; even if she is a witch. This really pains me that I'm so young that I can't even... ugh.

"Let's say... I take you to my house? Surely it's much better than the wilderness. I can feed you, take care of you, and educate you when you age. I can give both of you relationship advice near the future, as you are both Soulmates. Aww, I can't wait to see you two grow up together."

So, Teriana will be my partner from birth?

We would... grow up together?

T-That's cool. I just have to accept that this will be my new mother; a witch. Well, if she isn't evil... I guess I have no choice. Judging by her attacks on those wolves, there's no doubt she's anything but powerful. I can understand her; it's just I can't speak right now. She is a good witch, to my eyes.

* * * *

It's been four hours, I felt my little hands slowly getting touched by much bigger hands.

I slowly opened my eyes and heard the witch hum an unfamiliar tune. It sounded fast-paced, but also... sounded gentle. I really hope this isn't some sort of trick to eating us while we're sleeping.

" For once the witches go... up and down. We take... another face, to the one... that holds a frown. We cherish; we love, for the ones we loved dear most. Oh please, oh please, don't become one of the Ghosts. Oh one, oh three, we come forth together. We say... we love, will be here forever. Oh one, oh two, we will rise up anew. And three and four, the witches will finally get some more. Oh five, oh six, we will fight off the mist. And seven... and eight, it's not hard to relate. And nine, and ten, we will make a new friend. And eleven, and twelve, one day... I will bid you angels... farewell.... ♩"

Her voice sounded so amazing. The way she sings; along with the environment; it really feels like I'm in heaven. This is no witch; she's a godmother.

I could see Teriana's face; slightly smiling and cheerful clapping to the tune. Oh, isn't she the cutest?

And... yeah... Airred was right. She also has a Soulmark on her cheek. It kind of looks like a tattoo; on the right side of her face. The same symbol that's shaped like an 'S'. Couldn't that pain that I experienced earlier; come from that same Soulmark? Oh well...

I saw my new mother slowly bending her head down at me; slowly taking a stroll down what seemed to be a hill of grass. Her eyes widened.

"Rest well child. Mommy will wake you up soon."

Her palms were surrounded in a blue luminance. What the heck, is this some sort of magic? That's right, this is a fantasy world. When am I getting any powers--

Wait, I'm only a day old. I can't do anything, not yet.

As soon as I knew it, I saw her bright cheerful smile on her face; I slowly fell back to slumber. And my sight was greeted by darkness. I felt very exhausted in just a few seconds.
