A blurry tall woman figure filled my sights, but then that blurred faded away from my eyes.
She has beautiful brown hair and stunning cyan eyes. Her eyelashes are dark and pretty; along with her face. She's skinny beyond compare, and mostly, all I heard was just mumbled garbage.
"Tei no ka la tene noka me to"
What... does that even mean? She's speaking gibberish.
Speaking of, I feel very lighter than I am previously. I couldn't move as much, and her figure is giant. She's skinny and has a large chest. Her skin is bright and smooth. S-She smells amazing!
The woman also wore a beautiful dark comfy robe, and her face is drenched in sweat.
Is this heaven?
I quickly examined the area to see tall wooden walls; that similarly fit a European-styling to houses. The sun shone through a window, and all I saw large mountains piercing through the clouds in the distance. There was no sight of technology, and this was most certainly NOT a hospital. All there was is a table, a tall bookcase, and a large king-sized bed. I quickly tilted my head, to see her giant hands touching my bottom. Wait... no, everything is giant?!
She was breathing heavily, whilst having a small smile on her face.
"He has such a cute face."
Wait, my hearing came back. I understand her language. Wait... no... how can I learn so easily? Also, why can't I move? I could hear a male voice, whilst he gently touched my chin.
"He's very cute. Don't you think, he can be the children of the gods? He has tiny specs of white hair already."
Wait... tiny specs of white hair? No, I can't believe it. Wait, d-did he just called me cute? No, I can't resist it any longer. I must say something, I must tell them I was reincarnated.
"goo.....ga...goo."
The woman lightly chuckled, and her bright cyan eyes peered at me. They're glistening and beyond gorgeous. Round and perfect. But... wait...
"Aww, he's trying his best to say his first words. Aren't you a cute son?"
I felt her smooth fingers softly pinching my two cheeks. The man beside her was also drowned with love by my appearance. His figure surpasses the giant woman's height, and he looked young, but not too young.
Hold on, now that I think about it, everything in this room is huge! I could hear the deep voice, directing itself towards me.
"I deny it. White hair isn't that rare. It's uncommon for such a trait to appear, but I don't think he can be classified as Children from the Gods."
Hold on, how can I understand him?
The woman slowly shook her head at him; like she was about to slap him, but instead of doing violence, she instead rubbed her soft face against mine. This couldn't possibly be a giant's world. This place looks so far off from the afterlife's description. I feel... lighter than usual. W-Wait... am I, a baby?
"Airred, didn't you think of a name for our newly born son?"
A small silence formed after she asked him. I tried to turn my head to the man, but I just simply don't have the energy to move. I patiently waited and rested on my new mother's hands. Soon after, I heard a loud elderly-sounding voice, coming up from what seemed to be the downstairs of the building.
"Airred, Lenna Eifana is also giving birth to their child next door!"
Huh? Someone else also got born right after my birth? Who is this Lenna? Just from her name, I assume she looks hot.
Airred quickly sprinted down the stairs, while my mother cradled me in her arms. She slowly hummed an unfamiliar tune. I take the time to absorb her unfamiliar lullabies and hums. I could just already tell she is going to be a great; caring mother. I could feel her large chest pressing against my body, warming me from the cold.
Two minutes had elapsed, and my father hastily sprinted up the stairs to yell at my mother.
"It's a girl! Lenna birthed a girl! She just named her Teriana!"
Teriana? That's a beautiful name. Sounds like a fantasy-type name, I do have to say. I never heard such a name, getting blurted out in my world. The name sounds like a princess name. Outside the window, it certainly doesn't look like a kingdom. Instead, it looks like I'm isolated in a rural grass plain, well in my views. Wait, it's taking an awfully long time for my name... No screw it, I need to know my name now. Mother, when will I be named?
"T-That's okay dear... I need to keep my child warm. Airred, have you thought of a name for OUR son yet?"
Of course, she can't read my mind. But she can hopefully, read my faecc. Wait, did she just ask-- It's about time! I quickly turned my head away from my mother to see my father's head peeking out of the stairway. Freaking creepy.
Airred slowly walked up the stairs and approached the bed. His short, bright white hair swayed from the air. His grey eyes stared at me directly, it almost creeped me out. The way he was staring at me; it kind of looked like he was examining me or something.
After one long minute, he finally got up and decided.
"I couldn't think of a name for him. It's... odd that the color of his features exactly matched Lenna's daughter. It's like their twins... or, it could just be some sort of coincidence. Anyways, Lucy, I'm allowing you to name our first child."
F-First child?! O-oh no. Are they in their mid-twenties?!
"..."
A long silence formed, as my 'caring' father hastily left the house, just to see Teriana again.
I could see my mother's cyan eyes, staring straight at me with her cute face. Damn it all, I wish I was older. She's freaking gorgeous. Ugh.
But the rules of reincarnation don't follow, I guess.
After a long silence, my mother, Lucy, slowly whispered to my small ear.
"Da..."
Wait, is she going to name me by my previous name?!
"Daskin. His name will be Daskin."
This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.
Daskin?! That name sounds so cool, and... sounds eerily similar to my previous name. It sounds like a dragon's name or a wizard's name.
I don't mind though, that name itself sounds awesome.
She looked so happy when she said my name too. Her smile on her pale face; warmed my tiny heart in all honesty. Well, I am a newborn, so I can't do much... as of right now. I can hardly breathe.. isn't that a shocker? Oh well, time would just have to greet me, I guess.
* * * *
Almost an hour passed.
I tried to go to sleep, but I just couldn't. It was too much for me to even process. I could feel my mother's arms cradling my arms, until suddenly, as darkness filled the sky, I felt an extremely painful feeling on my face. I could hear the rain, downpouring against the window, and I could hear my father slamming the door.
This pain felt so brutal, I couldn't take it. I'm so vulnerable to pain. Am I going to die again? What's touching me? I saw that my mother's eyes were closed shut; slowly snoring as she softly holds my body. After a moment, the same pain grew worse. I just had to scream.
"wahhh... wahhh!"
I never knew I would cry during my birth. This pain felt like a wasp sting, but worse. It felt like the sharpest needle in the world was pushing down upon my skin. Pain struck my small heart, and I yelled and cried. I did everything possible to wake my mother up.
"WAHHHHH! wahhhhh!"
I screamed in pure agony. This pain just wouldn't go away. There was no one, but my mother next to me, so what's causing this... awful sting? She isn't pinning a middle on my cheek. So... is this magic?
I felt my own tears touching my skin. As I felt the pain slowly sliding down my cheek, my mother hastily woke up and gripped tightly against my small arms.
"D-Daskin? W-What's w-wrong--"
A long silence formed, as I continue to wail in pure agony. I saw her eyes widened, and she looked like she was about to cry. Her face is pale, and I didn't feel that same warmth as previous. Her pace of breathing grew heavy.
"N-No... t-that can't... y-you have..."
Then, the pain stopped. It's gone, and I still don't know why my mother is still crying. You know, it's over right?! The pain is gone, I stopped crying. Why are you still releasing your tears? Don't push me to depression when I'm literally an hour old.
"Poor Daskin..."
W-What? What does she mean by... p-poor? Mommy, t-the pain stopped.
As I heard my mother wailing out her heart, Airred quickly sprinted up the stairs; he heard his wife cry. His eyes widened, and I could just see... his terrified look deep within his eyes. The pace of his heart gradually increased; he keeps on whispering to himself in this worried tone in his voice.
"No. No. No. No. No... NO! T-that can't be... o-our son... h-he was just born."
I could hear a loud slam bust down the doors. Airred quickly tilted his head left and right; I heard the loud footsteps pushing down against the stairs. Both my mother and father were all fallen into a deep shock. I have never seen such a petrified face before. Did w-what happen? Please tell me!
"No. Not on checking day, a-are you kidding me? W-Why does he have a Soulmark? W-Who gave it to him--"
I could hear screaming from the walls from next door. He hastily tilted his head and quickly gripped onto the blankets. He pushed the blankets over my head and then sprinted down the stairs after he whispered to my mother.
"D-don't cry. I'll handle this."
W-what is going on? Why is this happening so quickly? Keep in mind, this is literally day one of my birth. I need answers, now.
"Daskin... please... no..."
I heard a loud masculine voice yelling from downstairs. Sounded like my father.
"No, that can't be possible. She has a Soulmark as well?! N-No... that can't be... it... there's no way.."
Then, I heard a louder, a much deeper voice, yell at the man.
"Move aside. We need to check on your son and then we will escort the rest of our next door. If the children have been given a Soulmark, according to ancient scripture, we can not have them anywhere around society. Although it's rare, a Soulmark gets placed upon two people, and they are forever connected. If one dies, the other will die with. They are deemed powerful, but it would take their maturity to increase their abilities. But that doesn't matter. According to the ancient scripture of Gincad, if one has a Soulmark, they are with the Underworld's people and shall be tossed in the wild for the wilderness to enjoy. They are not humans, and thus shall not exist upon these grounds."
I could only hear them, I couldn't see. My mother was hiding me below the blankets, hoping for the men to not find me. She tries to not cry, but she couldn't. I could just hear her feared-voice.
"I said, you're not allowed to go up there! U-um... the child isn't born yet... come back--"
I heard a loud slap echo across the walls of the house; followed by loud yells from the same men.
"Silence! The King demands us to analyze the children that get birthed. You have already been shared the knowledge that it's checking day. It happens every month, and if your child is born, and if they have a Soulmark, they shall be escorted far from you. If you don't abide by our orders, we will be forced to injure you. Now, as I said, get out of the way!"
He forcefully pushes my father away, and I heard metal clanging against each other. The sound of their footsteps hastily grew louder.
"Mam, I need to see what you're wearing. To see if you still are in labor. Or rather..."
Airred hastily sprinted up the door and raised his voice as loud as he can, whilst swinging his fists.
"Don't you touch her!"
My mother hastily screamed at the man.
"G-Get away! STOP! I-I'm still in--"
As I heard the muffled voices of my mother, and the guard fighting, I saw the silhouette of my father trying to swing his fists at the man. Unfortunately, he failed, and instead; gets kicked in the chest. I heard him, getting slammed down against the walls. I heard both of my parents wailing and crying; the guards hastily pulled down the blankets, and I'm revealed to them.
Their eyes widened, and they hastily showed a disgusted sneer at me. What the hell, what did I do wrong?
"It appears that your child has an 'S' shaped Soulmark imprinted on their cheek..."
He gets interrupted, as another one of the guards hastily leaned onto his ear.
"Our reports said, that the child next door also has the exact same Soulmark, but on her right cheek."
The Guard's eyes quickly widened, and he roughly raised his loud and intimidating voice.
"The two children must be escorted out of here at once! They don't deserve to be on our lands and your arms. That's just how the rules of the city of Zomrack shall play out!--"
I could hear my mother screaming as loud as she possibly can, with tears falling down her eyes.
"Nooo! Don't take him please! I... he's my first child! P-Please I beg of you, stop! Give us mercy, he's just a newly born child! I-I will do anything--"
The tall guard raised his voice, and harshly stomped on the floor.
"Silence! You must abide by the rules citizen! Now, get this filthy disgrace out of this room along with the child next door at once!"
I then was covered by soft white strands, and my body was placed in a basket, with soft pillows near the bottom. I heard both my parents plead to the guards, yelling and crying.
"Don't take my little Daskin away! Please! NO!"
"You dare touch on our newly born child? How ruthless are you!? Don't do this!"
The guard hastily raised his voice, and I was slowly carried away from the house. I could hardly see anything, and then I heard the people next door yelling with pure desperation and tears.
"No! Teriana! My little girl, don't go! PLEASE!"
She yelled so loud, her voice almost faded away. I couldn't see anything, only darkness. I could hear the gentle drops of rain; touch the cloth of mine, and soon, I heard Teriana's muffled crying and wailing as she also, got escorted away from her parents. Soon, I felt a large needle; pressing against my skin, and just before I knew it... my sight grew to darkness.
This has to be one of the worst births, or rather; reincarnation I have seen, as far as I'm concerned. Is this a fantasy world, I don't know. How do I remember everything in my past life, shouldn't my memories be wiped out? Why did I learn a language so easily?
I couldn't get those answers. I couldn't get anything.
This was literally the first day that I've been reincarnated. I felt pain, and now I'm being escorted away from my parents. What's going to happen next? I don't know.
All I know right now is that I am... slowly falling... into, slumber. And all I saw is darkness.
