Okay, we had a lot of talk about this Deathless. Some of you suggested throwing him in the boss pit or using him as a meat shield. There were even some recommendations of saying we'll work with him and then betraying him. Others of you even suggested tying him up and hanging him over the boss pit.
These options seem a bit cruel to me. I mean, I get that he's a Deathless, but I'd rather not make more enemies than I'd have to.
One of you also said we should go 'man vs. bear' and avoid all 'simps.' I don't know what those things mean. But I can cut a bear in half, so I don't think I have much to worry about most people.
In any case, you decided to run past him. So, that's what we're doing.
I move right past the Deathless. He starts running in the opposite direction I was going in. Just looking back at him, I can tell that he is absolutely terrified.
Running through the castle ramparts with my body increasingly burning, I come right to the tower. I cut the door in two with one strike from my sword. Then, I jump inside.
The spell teaching NPC Deathless is inside. He was sitting down and reading a book when I came inside. When he sees me, he starts running like all hell's broken loose.

Ignoring him as well, I climb the tower. It has a long set of wooden spiral stairs going right to its highest point. Eventually, I get all the way up to the rafters. There is a long beam of wood reaching from the edge of the stairs to midway through the tower's upper part.
I step onto the narrow beam. It's very small, and it takes all my concentration to balance on it. Taking a deep breath, I push down my pain and step forward. Centimeter by centimeter, I keep going until I reach the center.
Reaching down, I pick up the Ring of Fire Resistance that's below me. I put it on my finger. The burning sensation in my chest instantly leaves me. It's replaced with an incredible sense of relief.
Still, I don't relax. I turn around and move back towards the stairs. Slowly but surely, I make my way back. Then, when I'm safely on the stairs, I relax.
Okay, we got the ring. Now, the pain is much less. Good job, team. Things are looking up for us. We just need to decide what to do next.
We could go back to my castle and plan our next move from there. That would give us a safe place to decide on things from. But we're also right in King Kilnore's territory, and he knows we're here. Escaping won't be as easy as getting inside was.
We could also deal with King Kilnore. We're already here, after all, and it's not like his guards can stop us. Even Kilnore himself doesn't stand a chance against us. In fact, he might just surrender. That would be ideal.
We could also look for that Deathless and try to deal with him in some way. I don't like any of your solutions, and he's probably long gone by now, so I don't think this is a very good option.
So, what should we do?
