The night I was officially adopted by Besley and have been named Troy, I started exploring the mansion a bit. It's quite big, alright. It's not that wide or long, but three floors ain't a joke.
The dining room was fancy at a perfect level. The walls didn't have any wallpapers like in the other rooms and the windows aren't draped. The carpets have a pattern that looks like ovals overlapping each other. And the tablecloth is crimson-colored.
I rechecked the wine room and of course found Besley's hidden path. It was quite the hassle trying to get over the barrel hiding it.
The Lord's room was locked, and someone was guarding the kitchen from me, which I totally understood why. Most of the other rooms are either living rooms, guest rooms, or bathrooms. In total, I think 18-20 rooms. Not a joke. That's not counting the possibility of an attic.
Although I noticed something else. The staff around the building is watching my every step while I was exploring. And there are also knights appearing. Hey, I'm just a baby lesser dragon! Why are y'all so scared?
While passing the front doors of the building, the knight that chased me earlier in the day opened the doors and threw an icy glare at me, which I replicated. He then went into the meeting room where the lord was waiting. i don't know what they were talking about, so I stayed close to the door to listen.
I could hear the lord speaking, "Fulimos, what's the urgency?"
Then another voice, the knight's, was heard, "Sir,we found out why the forest was richer in the number of monsters. It seems that the vampire tiger which controls those numbers has been found as dust..."
Wait, so what I did was actually a bad thing to these people?
"Huh? How? When do you think this happened?"
"My trusted spy-knight approximates the dust to be at least two days old. What's peculiar about this, sir, is that there was one of the swords my subordinate left in Troy's former cave next to the dust. The only conclusion we have is that Troy killed it with the help of the sword. The hilt is made of silver, and silver is fatal towards vampiric beings."
Oh wow, that conclusion was spot-on.
"That's OUTRAGEOUS. Troy wouldn't reach beginner level at his age. Not even any other type of dragon could surpass that level! And, if my memory serves me right, three days ago was the full moon right?! Which means the vampiric tiger would've been an advanced-class monster! That's five tiers above Troy! It would need at least 100 lesser dragon hatchlings to even have the tiniest chance against such a monster in that time! Those two lesser dragons we killed, Troy's parents, wouldn't even stand a chance against it!"
Sooooo... I'm a prodigy?
"That's why I came here, Lord Gracius. We think that the dragon isn't what it shows. It is dangerous to leave it in your manor. I advise you to keep a closer eye on the creature. I've already told the other through the communication orb. So far, there has been no reports of suspicious activity from the dragon."
Suddenly, it was quiet for half a minute.
Someone please speak! I'm getting chills from this sudden silence!

"Well, Fulimos, the only way to find out if this dragon is really as dangerous as we think..." Lord Gracius's voice rang out just right beyond the door.
SHIT SHIT HE'S GOING TO OPEN THE DOOR AND SEE ME! WHAT DO I DO???
================================
"Well, Fulimos, the only way to find out if this dragon is really as dangerous as we think is," I said as I reached the door handle. "That he will be eavesdropping outside!" I opened the door.
I was only half sure that he would be outside, but it was a good test. A creature that uses silver do defeat a vampiric being would have common knowledge of other stuff too. If he is eavesdropping, that means Troy would be as smart as or smarter than an average human being.
I looked outside and around the corridor, to see no one. I looked back to see Fulimos confused, which means he didn't see Troy come in.
Ok then, guess he isn't really what he thought. Maybe using the silver part of the sword was pure luck and Troy planned to use the blade instead. But I think this won't be the last of me testing him.
================================
AAAAAAAAAAAA THAT WAS TOO CLOSE.
The moment I heard Lord Gracius close to the door, adrenaline pumped in and without thinking, I jumped up high until the ceiling and instinctively tried to pry onto something to keep me from falling down. I got claws in the ceiling.
Gracius's head was right under me now. He looked to the right and to the left. He looked back and looked around again.
Please don't look up, please don't look up.
Then Lord Gracius came back into the room.
Phew...

Where's Besley anyways?
I had explored everything and I forgot in which room did I find Besley. I assume that he is in one of the rooms downstairs because upstairs is just full of bedrooms and bathrooms and Besley isn't in his bed.
So I searched again for a few minutes, and found him in a room with another person who seems to be drawing on a blackboard? I wonder what they're doing.
I went in but...
"BESLEY, CAN YOU PLEASE GET THAT DRAGON OUT OF HERE. I DON'T LIKE THEM. THEY'RE SCALY AND SCARY.
Pfft, Pussy.
Of course, I was forced out.
So I decide to go outside, and eavesdrop from under the window the room has.
Half an hour, I laid down on the ground while trying to listen and learned quite a few things.
What really surprised me was that the world map which I peeked from the window looked almost exactly like Earth! It was labeled as Malia, which I think is what they named the world here. The only difference I can see is that there is a new island the size of germany in the middle of the bermuda triangle, which I find highly suspicious.
Anyways, what I learned was that the Kingdom of Altidore was located like what The US and Central America together looks like. Being in this position, most of the country's defenses are located at the south, where the biggest threat lies.
This threat highly interests me. It seems that south America, or whatever they call it (think it was Dracinia?), with the lush forests and richness in rivers, are claimed by this "Dragon Queen" which is the strongest dragon and the queen bee of the hive. Without the dragon queen, arch dragons admitted to being unsure of what their use is anymore and greater and lesser dragons go rogue and might start killing each other.
Because the dragon queen is there, nearly all of the dragon population lies in the continent.
Maybe I should go visit there one day. Or maybe not. I don't know if I'll be able to.
The teacher, Professor Gurri, was teaching Besley about the posts and ways that the border between Altidore and Dracinia is protected and the recent ceasefire with them.
The ceasefire was caused by the dragons in the continent shifting their attack focus onto Bermuda. It was having a lot of breakthroughs in its short history and is considered a threat to the draconic community. This was only 17 years ago, so it is recent history.
Now, I really need to know what this place called Bermuda is. Starting from why is it the same name as the Bermuda Triangle back on Earth and why is it advancing so fast compared to the other nations. But that's for another day.

In the afternoon, I decided to follow Besley to his "study place" as his teacher calls it. He goes outside and I follow. Everyone shot stares at me but no one attacked or panicked, other than a few who wanted me chained or leashed. That was quick of them to tell the town.
A few minutes later, we came to this big building and when I came inside, I saw an ocean of bookshelves lined up throughout the area.
Holy crap...
