Chapter 4 of vermin and cores
So looking over my room I have the black plywood walkway to my core. I have the pit trap over the with Slithers under the thin thin wood it should break under like 30 pounds and my book self with one book. Now that I have a second I only have one room feels like I should have more

But I only have 7 mana so i’ll claim as much as I can. After all I know there's no light in this room so there has to be more cave beyond this room. Alright, claim as much as you can that way. -7 mana My mana spread out the doorway like hole out from my room. And into the gray sandstone. My vision extended or widened as a room and a half was added to my dungeon. The first one was a curved room that didn't have a flat floor. The entrance to the core room was 4 feet lower than the entrance to the next. The room was a fat crescent moon shape that was lumpy sloped down into a small basin of dirty water..
The entrances are smooth holes in the stone and the room was the same gray sandstone with pinpricks of orange. The third, which I only had half of the room claimed as a dungeon. It is a circular deep room. The doors are roughly the same level but the floor is a large basin about 5 feet down from the doors, and out of the door I can't see though comes light. The next room must be the entrance to the cave. So my core room is one the moon one is 2, and 3 is the basin room
I can sense something moving in room 2. It's not a delver, it's not even a threat to me I think. Oh it's a bug, let's see what it's got.

Huh I guess it's because it's not a threat I don't mark it as a delver or a monster. Employ definitely.
The beetle has six legs with a fat body is about an inch long, it's antennae are about half an inch long and it doesn't have wings.

Added black sand beetle template to [animals]
Added monstrous black sand beetle template to [build monsters]
Added black sand beetle swarm to template to [build monsters]
So with that I will pull up my three-whole-mosters (vary nice) monster beetle snake and swarm.
The snake is the best damage by far the beetle only does half the snakes damage and the swarm does one third of the snakes damage. The snake is also the fastest. The beetle has the most HP and armor, a real front line face to face monster. It also has an ability to vomit on people, it doesn't deal damage but it can slow them down. Which can be nasty if used right in a life or death situation the person that hesitates loses-that's why you neve give the other guy a chance, hit em where it hurts when they're not looking! Never take the passive approach i-i-n lif-e or busin-ess
What was I saying? Lost my train of thought. Right right monsters so slowing someone down can be nasty if used right. And the swarm is also nasty but literally it's one hundred and twenty five beetles that do very little damage but very quickly but the slowest by a lot and take time to even start dealing damage they first need to crawl all over the thing they're attacking before they can start. But they do have one big strength: they take massively reduced damage from any normal attack. I don't know what a normal attack is but if it's normal then it's common. But it does make sense after all, you can't kill one hundred and twenty five beetles with a sword. . . I mean you could but it would take forever.
And by the time you kill beetle number ten there on you. Though you could just jog away from them and be safe maybe I treat them as a moving hazard or an ambush predator.
The beetle is going to be my main monster. I think every room it's going to have one as a stopping point. Can't move on till it's dead then each room will have a different collection of monsters, one beetle one swam, one beetle two snakes. Good plan good plan one problem, I have no mana.

So each monster has a different cost (monster snake)m-snake -20 bio -2 soul -5 mind, m-beetle -30 bio -5 soul -2 mind and the swarm god the swarm -30 bio -3 soul -10 mind it's-a-travesty so the most limiting thing is bio I may have a monster cap of 15 but i can't max it out. Worse still they all cost 5 mana to make. But the normal snakes(n-snakes) are cheap -5 bio -1 soul -2 mind -1 mana super cheap so I'm going to use those more than anything. Traps do not cost bio which was the limiting factor.
So I will claim the rest of room three and start placing monsters.-5 mana there is a big difference between claimed and not claimed rooms. I can see everything in the claimed area from temperature and feeling and and but im having a harder time seeing details the further away from my core I am. Right now it's not much. But I can tell it's happening. The temperature in my core room (room 1) is 10 degrees Celsius (52 Fahrenheit degrees), but in room three? Is it 11 or 10 Celsius? Can't tell but it's somewhere in that range. This could be a problem.
