Chapter 2: The Encounter

It happened on a rather sunny day. My best mate Rolg, a Zabrak, and I were adventuring throughout the outer ruins outside of the village. Rolg and I were both 9 now. There was a huge river there that had the purest water around. I don’t know why, but it was always so clean and clear. Because the river was always nice to be around, we took up fishing as a hobby and were pretty much the best around. The adults never bothered to learn because our village always had a steady supply of domesticated animals which I could never eat because they looked absolutely disgusting. Seriously it looked like they were eating really hard pudding. Oh how I miss a good hamburger. Anyways, I had effectively became somewhat vegetarian.

“I don’t understand how you can not eat meat. The way it feels in your mouth.”

Rolg said with a dreamy look in his eyes.

“Says the carnivore. HAHA”, I replied

“Hey I can eat vegetables too!”

Rolg and I were fast buddies. From the moment we met we knew there was something special between us. He and I could almost sense that we were different from the other kids. A day or two after we formally met, I told him about the abilities I had. Of course he asked me to teach him. Soon after we were… well best mates.

It was nearing the late afternoon and the sun was starting to go down. We had caught a lot today. So much that we had to let half of our catches back into the river. Fish was the only meat I would eat so throwing away half of our catch saddened me a bit.

“Alright lets go!”, I said

“Wait do you hear that?”, Rolg said in a serious manner

“What are you talking abo---”

I didn’t hear it but I definitely felt it. Something wasn’t right…

All of a sudden I felt a prick on the back of my neck! Rolg felt it too.

“Oww!”, Rolg and I screamed

We both looked behind us to see a large figure in a hooded robe.

“Hmmm… Extremely high Midi-chlorian counts on both of you. No wonder I felt I was being pulled toward this direction.”, said the mysterious figure

A random man suddenly appears behind you, what do you do?

“Run!”, I shouted

The hooded figure firmly grabbed onto us though. Thinking fast, I quickly shocked him with all the force lightning I could muster up. He let go but he looked more surprised than hurt.

“Let’s goo!!!”, Rolg said

Rolg and I hurriedly ran home with force movement and crashed into my family’s door.

Stumbling in I told my parent everything.

“There’s someone after us! A man pricked us with something sharp and grabbed us!”, I frantically shouted

My parents looked at each other

My dad said,“Calm down. It’s ok.”

Mom said, “don’t worry dearest that was the jedi master that comes around this time every couple of years.”

Then I heard someone enter through the door.

“Yes I am, and I am not a man. I am your one and only Anoon a twi’lek.” said the hooded figure.

Dad welcomed the figure saying, “Anoon! It’s great to see you back.”

Dad and Anoon embraced while mom smiled.

“It’s good to see you. Come sit down.” said mom.

I was confused. “Wait, wait, wait. Hold on! This guy could have poisoned us. He pricked us! Right Rolg?”

Rolg nodded, “It hurt too”, he said

“Oh I am sorry, I felt such power from you both that I had to take it right then.” Said Anoon.

“Take what?” I said

“To take a sample of your blood so I could test it for Midi-chlorians. It seems you both have the potential to be some of the strongest jedi our universe has ever seen!” Said Annon. He then turned to my dad. “I’ve already scouted out the other children. It seems that you two are the only ones that are eligible to train with the force. Unfortunately due to my busy schedule, we will have to head out right away!”

“Where are we going?”

“To School!”

Sigh. I already went through 18 years of that in my previous life…
