Summoning heroes...
It is nothing new. Stories about humans facing dangers and calling upon their 'gods' or using 'magic' or 'rituals' or any other things in order to reach someone or something else to deal with their problems in their stead...Those are common.
The reality of it is quite different from the tales though. It is not such a beautiful tale and it does not always have happy endings. That being said, what kind of human would want to read a story about humans trying hard to survive and failing in the end? Tales of failures are not that well received. Yet, through the contless human worlds, how many times did the humans end up being decimated?
What happens then? To the world? To the summoned hero or heroes?
Before that, why is it that there are always heroes available for summoning? Where do they come from? How were they selected?
There is so many unknowns about all of this yet it happens to be quite simple.
There are simply two ways to summon heroes:
=> The first one is the most random of all. It happens when the process is not respected or completely randomized. The summoners end up with random humans who sometimes end up having abilities and sometimes not. In this case, the world sometimes decide to intervene and correct the mistake by giving perks to those poor random summoned humans and they end up with what is usually called a 'system' or some kinds of special abilities or perks like an easier time to learn things or extended abilities.

In this type of summoning, if the world does not provide help, the humans of this world are doomed just about 99% of the time. It does happen that they randomly sumon some expert or super strong human but it is very rare. If the world helps, it depends on the help provided and the character of the random human summoned but the success of world saving does go up. The humans only end up decimated about 77% of the time.
To be truly honest, this way is mostly dependant on luck. And while there are many stories in many worlds about those being successful, it is not always the reality.
After all, how can you really expect a random human who never fought in his life to suddenly kill living beings in drove and save a world?
=> The second one is the true way of summoning a hero. Through a way to connect with their 'world', humans then reach beyond it towards what we call the HA, hero agency. It is a special existence managed by the Human God himself. And it is filled with human heroes. Basically, it is like a HR corporation in which the employees are HR people who manage heroes from all worlds. If you go through this particular way of summoning, the 'angels' of the agency will study your world's situation, give it a danger rank from F to A with symbols like '+' and '-' and, potentially, the special S classification if the danger cannot be evaluated between F and A. S does not mean that the danger is higher than A but that they could not understand it enough to give it a rank. Afterwards, the 'angel' will select a bunch of heroes to interview and then decide who to send, sometimes one, sometimes more.
It enables the summonner to receive the helps he needs the most. The success rate of world saving increases to about 75% with that method. Of course, it does sometimes fail.
And, as for me, I am one of these heroes belonging to this 'agency'.
I am called Lark.
And I am a hero.

Please do read a bunch of chapters first before rating or giving a review, that would be nice of you to not judge out of a single chapter or two xD
This will be a full-free story released randomly at my own pace. I hope some people will stick around and enjoy it.
Cheers!
