Or rather...he heard two different crackling noises from two different locations of the pile of eggs. Two baby Chaurus were about to be born! Zinc rushed over to the first one and smashed the egg prematurely, revealing a small, runt-like Chaurus. One look and Zinc believed that the Chaurus won't survive through the experiment. Nevertheless, he reached towards his utility belt and stabbed an acupuncture needle into the Chaurus's spine, disabling it.
Next, Zinc rushed towards the second egg just in time to see the newborn crawl out of its shell. Zinc reached down and pulled out another acupuncture needle from his utility belt. With a swift stab, he immobilized the young Chaurus. Once both Chaurus were subdued, Zinc observed the remaining eggs to see if any more were about to hatch. None...thank goodness!
Zinc glanced at the Chaurus before him and reached over to pinch the mouth open. As soon as the mouth gaped wide, the dwelf poured the Chaurus poison mix down its throat. initially, Zinc assumed that the baby Chaurus would survive since it should have some immunity to the poison that was poured down its throat. However, he soon found out that he was expecting too much. He had overestimated the capabilities of the newborn Chaurus. As the baby monster shudder a number of times, its body turned dark green and it soon perished without uttering a single sound.

Zinc grimaced with disappointment as he dismantled the body and stored the respective parts into separate rotect jars. Then, he walked towards the runt and forced its mouth open. Zinc poured the poisonous fluids into the runt without any expectations. The runt struggled incessantly as the poison did its work and soon, the Chaurus stopped moving. Zinc reached over and removed the needle. However, as he was about to dismantle the runt, he noticed that the baby Chaurus still had life in it. It was struggling to live! It stood up! It's alive! Was this a success?
