A boy is seen walking on the sidewalk in a quiet neighborhood. At first glance, he looks to be about 13 or 14 years old, but the boy is 15 and soon to be 16. If one were to look more closely, they would see that the boy doesn't seem to be in the best condition. His somewhat long black hair that almost reached his shoulders was a mess, the clothes he was wearing looked dirty, and his eyes looked empty.
"Why me?" the boy said in a saddened tone.
A few days ago, his parents got into a huge car accident that put a lot of people in the hospital. Most of the people lived, but his parents were the unlucky few who didn't make it. After hearing the news, it felt like his mind had broken. He cried for awhile and ran away, wanting to just get away from everything. He knew what he was doing was stupid, but it felt like nothing mattered anymore. He remembered coming home from school and seeing his mom in the kitchen, preparing a meal for him and his father. His father always supported him with anything, even more than his mother most of the time. After sulking and remembering the good times, he thought the least he could do was become a person they could be proud of. He turned around and started walking back home. As he was walking back, he heard a vehicle behind him.
"Huh?"
A truck was coming towards him at high speeds. Not knowing what to do and tired because he hadn't eaten or slept for a few days, he just stood there. By the time he came to his senses and started to move, it was too late. The truck had hit him, and he was sent flying through the air, then hit the ground, damaging the bones that weren't already broken from the truck. He wanted to scream from the pain he was in, but he couldn't move anything. As he was losing consciousness, he thought, "What kind of driver drives on the sidewalk?"

The world turned black.
A few moments later, he regained consciousness and couldn't see.
"Where am I?" he thought.
After that thought, he started to focus more on his body's condition, though he didn't know why. He couldn't remember anything at all. When he started to focus more on his body, that's when he noticed. His body felt fragile, and his lower half was stuck to something.
"Hold on..." he tried to mutter to himself but realized he couldn't because he didn't have a mouth.
At that moment, he regained his vision, but it was strange. He couldn't see because he doesn't have eyes, but at the same time, he could actually see.
He looked around quickly, trying to see where he was, but there was nothing but dirt with a few trees extremely far away. Not even grass. While looking around, he noticed he could somehow move his vision at will to look in all directions, though he could still only see nearly 180 degrees at once. He could move around quickly to focus on what was above and behind him.
Now knowing he could do that, he tried to look at himself, and what he saw shocked him.
"What?!?!"
He was a plant.
