Screams and other small explosions were coming from all directions. Polly stood still as a statue from the shock and fear, but she quickly snapped out of most of it as she saw Nora coming towards her with some wounds she didn't know were serious or not.
"Nora, are you okay? What's happening?"
"I'm alright. Let's go on another trip, but this time it'll be a longer one," Nora replied with a small groan and a smile.
Polly knew she wasn't really alright and knew that there was fighting happening, but she didn't ask any further.
"What about Jade?"
Nora looked around quickly at the chaos that was happening all around the village.
"Go back into the house and grab a much smaller pot you can carry with ease. Make it quick, though."
As soon as she got done speaking, Polly went into the house and grabbed a much smaller pot that was the same color as the other. She then quickly started to dig Jade up. He could tell she was moving as quickly and carefully as possible, but she still managed to damage some roots. He refrained from mentally complaining because he knew the situation wasn't good.
When she finished moving Jade to the smaller pot, Polly saw a dark blue ball in the sky heading towards her and Nora. A second later, Nora also saw it and showed a panicked expression.
"GET IN THE HOUSE!" Nora yelled.
Polly quickly listened and ran towards the door of the house as fast as she could with Jade in her arms. When she entered the house, she hid behind some supplies and braced herself for whatever was about to happen. She knew that whatever it was, Nora could definitely deal with it.
Nora knew what the ball was. It was a mana bomb, and from the color, she knew it was a weak one because the lighter it is, the stronger it is, but this one is obviously dark, so the explosion shouldn't be too strong, but even the weak ones can cause fatal explosions.

Nora grabbed the big pot that was still filled with some soil and threw it as hard as she possibly could toward the ball in the sky that was only a few meters away now. As soon as the pot came into contact with the ball, an explosion occurred, making soil and pieces of the pot go everywhere.
After most of the dust cleared, Nora ran to the house to make sure Polly was okay. She sighed in relief as she saw her hiding behind some supplies. Nora then picked her up with one arm because the one she used to throw the pot was broken. She then started running out of the house and, a few minutes later, out of the village. They stopped a good distance away to take a break.
She set down Polly, who was still holding Jade, and fell over exhausted from the running. She stayed on the ground for a few minutes, catching her breath, and got back up. Nora thought they were safe until two arrows came out of nowhere and struck her in the shoulder of her good arm. A few drops of blood landed on Polly, and Nora screamed in pain and fell over. Polly started to cry and asked if Nora was okay through her sobs.
Two figures in all black then came out behind trees nearby. Jade noticed they looked different. They didn't have a tail, scales, or much of any resemblance to the lizard people.
Polly tried running to attack them out of anger for hurting Nora, but Nora stopped her and told her not to get involved.
"Why must you humans bother us!? What did we ever do to your kind!?" Nora yelled at the two humans in anger and pain from the arrow.
Instead of answering her, one of the humans took out a sword and slowly started walking toward her. Nora couldn't use both her arms, but she could still use her legs. She scrambled up and tried using her legs to attack, but the human dodged and slashed her legs almost to the bone, making them useless to fight with, like her arms.
Polly was sitting on the ground, scared and crying, not knowing what to do, with Jade next to her. Jade was angry at the humans and at himself for not being able to do anything. Even though he hadn't even known these lizard people for a day, he still felt sympathy.
Knowing she wouldn't make it, Nora gave Polly one last warm smile before the human pierced her heart.
Polly stopped crying and just sat there in a daze, looking at Nora's body with empty eyes. The human with the sword then approached her and swung their sword down. Polly didn't even flinch as the sword pierced her neck, her eyes still on Nora's corpse.
