Born again

"That bitch tricked me!" I thought in my head. Once again I was in the darkness.Something was different this time though. I knew I was still in the void, but for some reason I felt... Unstable. Like I was going back and forth between two bodies.

Suddenly I felt something grab me. I intended to grab it back but my body wouldn't listen to me! I then felt a cool breeze of air and heard a voice say

"Congratulations My lady, My king, it's a boy!" I was then passed to another pair of hands and felt wet drops on my face. I tried opening my eyes but when I did I heard a loud gasp.

"By the gods, He's blind!" said a lovely female voice. This time even more wet tears fell on my face. I was then passed to a pair of rough hands.

"Even if he's blind, he's still beautiful to me." said a man with a deep rough voice. I assumed this man was the king, and the lady that I was once again passed to was the queen.

"Of course he is. But I want my baby boy to have a perfect life. Is it possible that the church could heal him?"

"Come now my dear, we both know that only gods could heal a defficiency that someone was born with from birth." said the king.

"Why isn't he crying?" said the first voice, the one that handed me to the queen.

"Is there something wrong with him, Charles?" the queen said in a frantic voice.

"I don't know, not all babies cry from birth" said the king named charles. "Pass him to his brother's and sister's my dear. Let them hold him" I was then passed to three pairs of hands, which were accompanied by "Ooohs" and "Aaaahs."

"Oh Oliver your here! Here here, hold my kid. Look at him, isn't he a beauty?" king Charles said. I was then passed to a soft pair of hands, a pair of hands so soft I thought it was a woman's at first. I felt a weird sensation pour in my body. It felt weird, so with a thought I dispelled it. Apparently, I shouldn't have done that.

"This child just..." I heard the man named Oliver. Apparently so did my mother.

"what? Is something wrong?" she said in a slightly scared voice, as if she didn't want to know the answer, but at the same time did. I could tell the man hesitated before saying

"No, nothing is wrong. He is a wonderful child, and is destined to be a great man!" Apparently this is exactly what my mother wanted to hear, as she started crying in happiness.

The rest of the day was uneventful, except for a few parts. I felt like  a five year olds new toy, as I was shown around like one. Also, it was more than a little embarrasing when a woman pulled down her blouse and put my mouth up to her chest. At first, I resisted since I didn't know what it was, but a few touches with my hand quickly told me what it was. I was happy that I was blind. If I had an extremely hot mother, as a male I don't know if I would be able to resist.

Also, I feel like I should mention that this world used something called a 'Magical Translation Device'. Inside it, everyone could magically understand each other. They were currently working on a portable one, but it was still in its testing stages. I leaned that my familys name was Alvenstead. Yeah, the very same Alvenstead. My mother was Vanessa Von Alvenstead, while my father was Chalres Von Alvenstead. My name was Aizen Von Alvenstead.

I learned that my family were Mid-High ranked nobles. After Clarissa had killed seven gods, the Alvenstead clan was basically decimated and hammered by kings and queens, labeled as traitors to the gods. Only by the mercy of the Emperor were they allowed to live. Since then, the generations of Alvensteads have worked tremendously hard to increase the ranking of their clan.

After a full day of hard work, I was tired. Come night time I was passed out the second I layed down. But what greeted me was something, or should I say someone that I didn't wish to see again.

"Hello there, Aizen." said the embodiment of Clarissa Monique Von Alvenstead.

"Why am I back here" I said, not bothering with pleasantries.

"I told you my dear, You are a wraith. Your real body is inside the void, forever lost in the darkness. But while the void is your cage, it is also your source of power." she said.

"So that's all being a wraith is?" I asked, confused.

"No. Your real body is now ethreal. The only attacks that can hurt you are mental attacks, but attacking someone in their mind is extremely hard to do. Not too many can do it. You are Virtually Un-killable"

"Virtually?" I asked.

"Right. Magic will hurt you, but no matter how much is thrown at you it won't kill you. But it is possible to be bound and drugged. Being drugged significantly lowers your mental abilities. Also, with training it is possible to make your real body etheral, though not indefinitely."

"That's nice and all, but if I'm so powerful why haven't my parents detected it? Most of the time, having the power of darkness isn't usually a good thing." I say.

"Simple. The void can never be found. The fact that you made it here through a crack in space is almost unbeliavable itself. Since you have no physical body, you have no physical mana core."

I was going to ask more when I head a door open. Instantly I was awake, whisked back into my body. I couldn't see, but by the hands that touched me I could tell it was oliver.

"Now demon, come out of my nephew's body or I will kill you." Once again I felt that same sensation, only this time a little stronger. I did the same thing I did before and simply pushed it out.

"Fine then. If physical attacks won't draw you out, let's try mental attacks." I was laid back down on the bed one of his fingers went to my forehead. Instantly I was brought back into the void, only this time with a companion. Now that I could see him, Oliver looked to be a man in his early twenties. He had short black hair with a seemingly weak body. He was about 5'10 with a handsome face.

"How did you do that?" I asked him. He whirled around too fast, and nearly fell down.

"How...Why... Why is such a powerful demon inside my nephew!" oliver nearly shouted.

"I'm not a demon" I said.

"Lies" he shot back

"If I was a demon, why haven't I killed you yet?" I shot back.

"Thats... fine. Let's pretend for one second that you aren't a demon. what are you then?"

"A wraith" I said simply.

"Lies!! Wraiths cannot become this powerful. No, I doubt any beings other than gods can become this powerful! What are you!"

"I just told you, a wraith."

"Then why are you in my nephews body." he asked in a slightly scared voice.

"Before I answer that, I should tell you who and What I am, and my story." So I talked. I told him my story of being from another world, that I was sucked into this place, how I trained for an unknown amount of time, and finally my rebirth. I didn't tell him about Clarissa. I wasn't sure I could trust him yet.

"That story is.." I couldn't even begin to guess what he was going through. I got in front of him and went Dogeza.

"Please. I no longer wish to be stuck in this void. Even though I am blind in the real world, I can still feel things and do things that I cant while I am here. Please let my stay here!" Although I was certain I could kill Olvier, It would do me no good. People would get suspicious about me, and the chance that my cover would be blown is extremely high. I knew that if I could convince him to join my side, I could gain a valuable friend.

"What is your goal" he suddenly asked.

"Goal?" I said, confused.

"Right. When you get your body to adulthood, what do you plan on doing?"

"I..I'm not completely sure. I was born with an extremely weak body back on my planet, so I couldn't do many things. Now that I have a body that can support me, I mostly plan to explore the world. I mean come on, you guys have dragons!" I said in an excited voice. I then went on and on about the cool races I had read about in books my planet. To my surprise, he listened faithfully. When I ran out of things to say, he finally said

"Alright. I have judged that you mean no harm to my brother and his wife. I will allow you to stay, on the condition that you tell me more about your home planet." I instantly agreed. I was happy that I got to make a new friend and was allowed to stay.

7 years later.

"Young master Aizen, dinner is ready" said a maid who was standing outside my door.

"Just a Minuete" I said. I was currently practicing to control my mana. After I had turned five, I made Oliver teach my how to control mana. Orginally I had wanted Clarissa to teach me magic, But since the first night I entered the void I hadn't seen her again. At first he disagreed, saying that I had no capacity for mana. Once I told him that my Mana Core wasnt in this body but in my other one, he finally agreed.

I felt the pitch black mana filling my body with strength as I moved it around. I then placed it by my ears and did the sense strengthening technique. Since I was blind, my ears were already extremely perceptive. Added with sense strengthening, I could hear the heartbeat of a mouse. I also learned that since my real body was in the void, this current body had the same bone controlling ability. This made me extremely happy, as I felt that I had brought a piece of home with me. When I infused my bones with mana, I am certain that If a semi truck were to hit one of my bones head on, the truck would take more damage than my bones.

I got up and walked to the door. Since I was a child I had memorized the layout of the castle and the forest surrounding it. I had learned a little trick since being blind. I would snap my fingers and the sound would bounce everywhere, allowing me to make a near perfect picture in my brain. For most people it would be considered nearly impossible, but with my Eidetic memory it was pretty easy.

I walked downstairs to go to the family table. I could smell the scent of the rich assortment of food that wafted in the air.  I snapped my fingers to tell where my family was sitting. My mother and father were sitting at the head of the table, with my older brother and two sisters sitting to the left of them. I learned that my First sister and the oldest, Susan, was 13 years old and currently going to the best magic institute in the world, Vainst academy. She was a smart girl with black hair and eyes, and a beautiful face that would make even the gods blush. At least, this is what my mother told me. No doubt some exaggeration there. Second sister, who was 12 years old, had short blond hair with a perfect body with blue eyes that would make the ocean jealous. My mother, once again.  She was named Lana, and was also in the Vainst academy. My first sister had an Affinity towards fire magic, while my second water magic. My older brother, who was 14, had strong features and an even stronger body. He had a high affinity towards light magic and was training to be a paladin. He had green eyes and short brown hair. His name was Claude.  Both my sisters were on break from the academy and decided to visit home.

Then there is me. Pure white, shoulder length hair with red eyes and pale skin. Yep, you guessed it. I'm albino. Though not a full albino, since my skin is a little darker than that. My mother said that I had feminene feautures that would make even the most beautiful of elves blush.

Since the day I could talk full sentences I had been training my body and my magic. After reading a ton of fantasy books, I knew this was the best thing I could do right now. I could now control my mana pretty well, since I had a much faster head start than most people. But I didn't have any magic spells and had no idea how to use magic other than by strengthening.

I had also figured out how to make my body ethereal, although it was only certain parts. I had actually learned as an accident. I was playing around in living room one night when I bumped into a dresser and made a vase fall. I could tell it was going to land on my head and fear took me into a higher mode of thinking. I instantly felt as if my head was completely empty. I could still think, however, it felt as if nothing was there. It only happened for about five seconds, but it still happened. My mother had freaked out and had checked me over about 15 times, even with me complaining to her saying I was fine.

I sat down on the right side of the table and asked a servant to make me a plate. It was fun being a noble. Everything I wanted was in my hands with a mere order. Still, I was always nice to the servants. The concept of slavery thoroughly disguisted me and I planned the way of thinking in this world.

The table was quiet, so I decided to ask a question I already knew an answer to.

"Mom, can I go out into the village today?"

"No sweetie, you know why you can't." I did. Since I was born I've had 8 assassination attempts on me. Each of them were repelled, but since then my parents have been keeping me locked in the castle.

"But mom! I'm sick of being locked in here all day!" I whined. Truthfully, I didn't mind. I knew in the future they would have to let me out, since they couldn't keep me locked in here forever. But I knew my oveprotective mom would try everything and anything to keep me locked in here.

"Have Claude accompany me then!" I said, looking towards my brother.

"I wouldn't Mi-- actually I'm quite busy today." His voice went from normal to frantic, and I knew my mom had given him her evil glare. My dad sometimes talked about the scariness of it, saying I was lucky to be blind.

"Then assign me some bodyguards!" I said, slamming my fist on the table. I truly was starting to get angry. Although I said I was fine about waiting, after sitting and training for centuries in the void it was frustrating not being able be outside.

"Watch your tone young man" My mother said. My mother could truly be scary when she wants to, but I didn't back down. We were having a glaring contest when my father said

"Aizen, we have some good news for you. Go ahead dear, tell him what it is." My mothers tone changed instantly.

"Oh yes, we have enrolled you into Vainst academy. In three year, you will go and take the entrance exam. If you manage to graduate from this school, you will have free access to the outside." Needless to say, I was extremely happy. My sisters, on the other hand, weren't to happy.

"What! You made us wait until we were 11 to enroll!"

"Yes, but you guys weren't blind. Plus, Aizen will mostly be in the martial arts section of the institute, so you won't even see him." This time the roles were reversed, with my shouts of "What!" and my sister's looking happy.

"Not fair! I have an affinity towards magic to!" I shouted. Oops. Too late now.

"Since when!" My whole family shouted. I waved the servants away and then said in a low voice

"Uncle Oliver told me I had an affinity towards darkness magic." This  shocked my family. The last descendant of the Alvenstead clan to have darkness magic was Clarissa, and we all know what she was capable of.  I learned that event happened 500 years ago.

"How high is your affinity?" my mother asked

"I don't know. It shouldn't be that high. I'm not very good with magic" I lied. "But I would still like to be able to do body enhancing. I think that it would help me greatly."

"No need to worry there, we were planning on asking Oliver to help you on your magic training. But now, definitely can't put you into Vainst magic academy section." This time, the emotions stayed the same.

"Why not?" I asked pouting.

"Because the world still hasn't gotten over what clarissa did. If it were to be revealed that darkness has surfaced in the Alvenstead clan once again.." I instantly understood their reasoning. Still, it didn't make it any less easier. I would just have to make oliver teach me.

I learned Uncle Oliver was a pope-in-training of the holy church. The reason that he was so surprised that I resisted his magic was because he was considered extremely powerful amongst light affinity mages. I would just have to have him teach me magic then.
