14 : The Tutorial is Too Easy

Instructor Park and Ilsung walked into the blue barrier of the entrance, their vision went dark for a second, and the next moment a bamboo forest was in front of them. When Ilsung looked back he could see the large cave with the blue barrier behind them.

"We can step back into the cave to go back. Monsters don't seem to be able to cross it" Park explained.

Ilsung nodded. Let's get the camera out, I hope the high-tier conjure works. If I can get their permission, I can use this footage as an exclusive reveal on my site

"Get ready to see some magic" Ilsung grinned at Park.

He activated the Conjure inscription on his palm with mana. White light emanated from his palm and a second later the GoPro and chest mount appeared in Ilsung's hand.

The jaw-dropping scene left Park dumbfounded. After his emotions subsided, words managed to escape his mouth.

"How the fuck did you do that!?"

Ilsung laughed, "It's the magic I told you about. It's Conjuring magic. Magic can be cast using inscriptions and mana, it's one of the several skills I received from the system."

After thinking for a while, Park nodded his head "Makes sense, in a previous raid when I and the fellow instructors killed a few Ghouls and slashed the Demonic Vines, we received an achievement called 'Newbie Hunter' and we got a couple of skills as a reward..."

"...'Minor Strength' and 'Minor Dexterity', we could use them to raise our strength and speed for a short while. But how did you get such powerful skills? since this should be the 1st time you entered a dungeon"

Ilsung shook his head "I don't know, they just appeared out of the blue"

"You're one lucky bastard. But does that mean we could also bring firearms if you cast magic on it?"

"Maybe, but there's a bunch of limitations to Conjuring magic. Only the person who cast it could Conjure the item, and to summon it inside a dungeon, it needs to be a very high-tier one. There's also a limitation on the number of items that can be conjured, depending on the mana reserves of the user."

After giving it some thought, Park nodded. *By the time one becomes powerful enough to cast high-tier magic, firearms would become useless *

"Alright, get ready to enjoy the show" Ilsung now had a serious expression on his face.

The chest mount fit Ilsung perfectly, he set the GoPro to 4K120 and hit record.

Before Park could reply, Ilsung darted into the bamboo forest. Park followed behind, and in the blink of an eye, Ilsung went out of sight.

After Ilsung ran through the bamboo forest for a while, he could see a large clearing ahead. The moment Ilsung reached the clearing, black humanoid creatures ran toward Ilsung from all directions.

Ilsung ran toward the nearest Ghoul, launching a superman punch. His fist struck the Ghoul on its head, nearly crushing it. The Ghoul fell to the ground. Without a second glance, Ilsung stomped the Ghoul's head into a meat paste, launching black blood and brain matter into the air.

Three Ghouls lunged at Ilsung, swiping their long black nails. He reinforced his body with mana and jumped forward, throwing an uppercut, which decapitated the Ghoul in the middle. The ones on either side landed a hit on Ilsung's arms, scratching them. Ilsung grabbed the Ghouls by the head and smashed them together, killing them instantly.

Ilsung could sense the faint amount of life force he lost from the Ghouls 's attack.

Even though life force will be regenerated with rest, if someone who isn't strong enough gets attacked by these monsters repeatedly, he's sure to become their food. Even if it's nothing more than an ant sting to me, I should avoid getting hit by them

Two large Ghouls with stems appeared before Ilsung. He moved at lightning-fast speed and before the Ghouls could react, he punched a hole in their chest, before stomping the Ghouls into a bloody pancake.

Ilsung picked up the bamboo stem and held it at one end with both his hands. He increased the mana in his arms, swinging the bamboo stem with extraordinary force. The Ghouls that were struck by the swinging bamboo were blown away, some were even decapitated.

He knocked out the remaining Ghouls with a series of roundhouse and hammer kicks and proceeded to stomp the knocked-out Ghouls.

When Ilsung looked at his handiwork, he couldn't stop grinning.

The sound of someone clapping was heard, and when Ilsung turned toward the sound, he saw that it was instructor Park who was clapping.

"Damn, are you even human! I can't help but pity the Ghouls" Park laughed.

"You caught up before I could finish the fight, not bad"

Park smirked "Did anyone tell you what a cocky little shit you are!"

Ilsung laughed "The camera is rolling, I'll need to wrap it up fast. You can compliment me after we leave the dungeon."

He darted into the forest again, this time very closely followed by Park, who didn't want to miss a single beat.

After a short while, they arrived at a marsh that was covered in vines. The moment Ilsung stepped into the marsh the vines began to move like a thousand hands, whipping toward Ilsung, a few vines began to trap him, coiling around his body trying to crush him to death.

In the blink of an eye, Ilsung was completely encapsulated by the vines, which were trying to squeeze him to death. This sent Park into a panic, who was watching from the edge of the marsh, but before he could even draw his dagger, a fire began to raze the vines that trapped Ilsung.

Within seconds, the vines surrounding him were completely consumed by the fire without leaving so much as a trace of ashes. When Ilsung emerged out of the fore unharmed, he now had two exquisite-looking daggers in his hands. Ilsung picked up the sheaths that fell on the ground and attached them to his waist.

A new set of vines were trying to trap him again, along with a dozen more whips darting to whip him. Ilsung cut the vines at his feet and moved at an astonishing speed, which practically looked like a disappearing act. He began to shred the vines with his dagger, as new vines began to sprout out of the ground.

Vines that were cut by Ilsung's dagger went up in flames. In just a few minutes Ilsung managed to shred all the vines in the marsh, setting th ablaze. When he was done, the marsh turned completely bare.

The sight caught Park off-guard. What the hell...he could have conjured the daggers, but what about the intense fire. Vines slashed with the dagger just went up in flames without leaving any traces. Is this one of his magic skills?

Before Park could continue his speculation, Ilsung ran out of the marsh, heading into the forest ahead. Park set his thoughts aside and ran after Ilsung.

The forest in front of the marsh was devoid of bamboo but had tall trees and thick bushes. Ilsung ran a few hundred meters before he could see a large snake darting in between the trees. The giant snake swiped its powerful tail, attacking Ilsung. He dodged the tail, which was powerful enough to uproot entire trees and break them in half.

The giant snake uncoiled itself and raised its hood hissing at Ilsung. It spewed poisonous fog, before escaping Ilsung's sight

Ilsung paused his breath and focused intently on his hearing. The giant snake came out of nowhere, trying to knock Ilsung with its head, but Ilsung realized the direction the snake was coming from, and before it could land an attack on him, he pushed mana into his legs, jumping a dozen meters into the air, before landing a killing blow on the snake's head.

The extremely tough black scales of the snake would be impenetrable to any normal dagger, but the ones in Ilsung's hands were especially enhanced by mana, along with the power of Ilsung's thrust, they had little trouble penetrating its head. The intense fire sparked by the daggers did the rest of the job, destroying the snake's internals.

The skin, scales, and fangs were left behind, which fell to the ground.

Park, who was fearful of the snake, was watching from a corner with glee in his eyes.

Ilsung grinned at Park "It's called a Gorgon, right? Collect its remains, we can take it back, and use it to craft items and weapons."

Without wasting another minute, Ilsung rushed ahead. He could now see grass fields.

Wow, this is like a complete miniature world, with such a variety of biomes. Is this a separate space, or a different world entirely, linked through extremely advanced means, like the dimension prison I was in? If I can unravel these secrets I may find a way to get back to Farvin.

Ilsung yearned for his home planet. When he teleported his soul to earth, he was just aiming for a world with sentient life, but he never thought he would fail to return to Farvin.

His confusion was further exacerbated by the existence of millennia-old folktales on earth, which described the existence of creatures similar to the various sentient races of Farvin. The myths of the Angels in various religions of the Earth didn't help matters either. Without a means to return home, he was now relegated to calling earth his new home.

The only silver lining was that he liked it here. The appearance of mana on earth and the dungeon he just witnessed gave him some hope of one day finding his way back to Farvin.

As Ilsung reveled in his memories, lightning struck on the grass field distantly ahead of him. As the puff of smoke vanished, a large monster with the head of a bull and a humanoid body stood on the spot the lightning struck.

I remember seeing drawings of creatures similar to this, they were supposed to be an extinct species of Beastmen on Farvin. Earth's Greek mythology also has a monster like this called the Minotaur...

Before Ilsung finished his thoughts, the ground beneath him began to tremble as the large half-bull half-human monster ran toward him.

This must be the final monster in the dungeon. With my 'Stat Visibility' skill, I could see that it's quite strong, unlike the previous ones I fought so far. I should kill it quickly, if it manages to attack the instructor, he will be gravely injured if not dead.

Ilsung sheathed his daggers and pushed the entirety of his mana into his legs and arms, he moved faster than sound, causing a shock wave. He instantly appeared in front of the monster, throwing a powerful punch at his chest. The monster managed to block the punch with its hand, which shattered as a result.

The monster was taken aback, it roared with anger, the immense pain sending it into a frenzy. It wanted to smash Ilsung with both its hands cupped together, but Ilsung caught the attack without budging an inch.

Ilsung threw a punch with his right hand. The immense power of his punch penetrated his hand into the monster's chest, crushing its lungs and heart. The monster stumbled backward and fell while roaring its last.

Ilsung stopped the GoPro and turned it off. He examined the monster's body. Maybe we can take the entire body out...

Just as he was thinking a chime sounded in his ears and text appeared in his vision.
