Chapter 27: Interrogation

Chapter 27: Interrogation

Floating towards the warrior who was frozen with terror, the gigantic black arm grabbed around the warrior's body, who could only silently await his impending doom.

"It seems that a Demon Avatar can also levitate, without consuming too much power from the Demon Force." Asura observed the gigantic black arm he had conjured on a whim. Making the gigantic arm move as he wished was as easy as moving his own left arm. Even now, Asura was still amazed at the practicality of the Demon Force.

Returning his attention towards the crippled warrior, who still grimacing from the pain of losing his right arm, Asura decided to get some answers out of the man.

"Now, tell me, did Nilfim send you?"  Asura coldly said, slightly increasing the gigantic arm's grip on the warrior.

Grunting, the warrior quickly said, "N-n-no, no! I don't even know him! P-please, let me go home!" Tears were starting to streak down his face. "Sir, we were sent by our teacher, Lord Ho'Vah!"

"Ho'Vah," Asura repeated several times, memorizing the name Ho'Vah. Looking back towards the sobbing man, he coldly said to him, "Why did he send you?"

"I don't know! He only told us to bring you back alive! He did not say anything else!"

"Master, he is lying! I felt his mana fluctuate when he said that last sentence!" Choronzon angrily said.

Asura had also felt the warrior's mana fluctuate with his 'Mana Sense'. Sighing, he whispered loud enough for the warrior to hear. "You leave me with no choice."

Instantly, the giant arm crushed the warrior's legs, grinding his leg bones into dust!

"GGGUUUUAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! PLEEEAAASEEE!!! I'M SORRRYY!! KILL ME! PLEEEASSEEE!"

Loosening the gigantic arm's grip, Asura let the warrior take a few breaths, before continuing. "Lie to me one more time, and I will crush your most precious part. Now, tell me!" As cold light flashed across Asura's eyes, the warrior realized that he could not hide the truth, and that Asura was being serious on his warning.

"H-h-h-he said t-t-to r-r-retrieve the s-s-scrolls on y-you."

"I see. Then, where can I find this Lord Ho'Vah?" Asura asked.

"Since Ho'Vah had sent people to take my scrolls, it meant that Ho'Vah will not stop until he obtains them." Asura thought. Even if he killed these men, the mysterious Ho'Vah would send more people, and things might not go as well the next time. Therefore, Asura felt a strong urge to resolve this issue with Ho'Vah.

"H-he is," the warrior gulped before continuing. "At the Palace of Blackfire."

"What?!"

Asura could not believe his ears. Even though he did not sense any fluctuation coming from the warrior's mana, he still could not believe that this Ho'Vah was probably an influential figure! He remembered the horse carriage driver saying that only the highest ranked nobles and officials have access to. Finding this Ho'Vah have become a lot more difficult than he had originally thought.

"One last question. How do I go to the Palace?" Asura needed to find a way to get into the Palace, so that he can find out why Ho'Vah wanted the Secret Art scrolls that Shane had given him. What was so special about them?

"Only those who are given this token, can enter and leave freely," Asura felt the warrior reaching into his robe pocket with his remaining arm. Taking out a circular token with the logo of Blackfire, Asura was convinced that this would allow him to enter the Palace.

"Thanks for your cooperation. Goodbye."

"Huh? What do you me-"

In a flash, the gigantic black arm clenched its fist, instantly killing the warrior as all sorts of organs popped out of his right shoulder and the crevices of his flesh.

Asura then leapt onto the floating gigantic arm, before willing it to fly into the golden horizon, leaving behind the four corpses for the crows to feed on.
