Chapter 13: Finally level 10

Chapter 13: Finally level 10

I blink a couple of times, completely baffled and strangely tired.

The memory of a sudden blur cutting across my face is still bright.

“Three two…? What? Why aren’t you getting ready?” The rabbit man asks.

I look at him, gazing at the water that's still dripping of his purple fur.

Calm down…

I want to calm myself down, but this bastard lied about being bound to a contract!.

And I fell for it.

I force a confident smile. “Nothing. I'm just getting my head in the right mindset.”

I was sent back by around three seconds in time. This begs the question of how many respawns I have before I am greeted with permanent death.

Immediately, I open my skill set. After all, I can watch it in the HUD too.

After a second, I find the passive skill.

Skill(Passive) Description Cost Death rewind When you die, you will rewind back in time. How far you go back in time is dependent on your desires and energy points 1.75 EP

I still don’t understand how I never saw it before, but I don’t have time to dwell on the how or why at the moment.

After a second, I look at the amount of energy points I have remaining…

EP: 3/10

Ah, that's the energy-sapping thing Vacinay told me about…

“Well?!” The rabbit man growls. “What’s taking so long?!”

I ready my fist. “Let’s go.”

Sweat runs down my forehead as I ponder what will happen when my energy points hit 0. It isn’t much of a ponder since I am sure what it means.

Death.

“Rock paper scissors!” We both shout. I have to think of a plan during this. What could work?

I use paper, and I get unlucky with it using scissors.

With a deep grin, he says, “Take me too—“

I turn towards a guard. “Spear gun?”

He raises an eyebrow. “Wha—?”

The rabbit man screeches, “Don’t ignore me! Or I will kill you!”

I raise my palm. “Nope. Your mistake was letting me turn my back against you; that triggers one of the skills I was gifted when I became a reality defen—“

A blurring punch ruptures my head and kills me.

The darkness fades away. No amount of bullshitting is working.

He doesn't care about the rules of the game, and we don't have the manpower to kill him.

“Don’t ignore me! Or I will kill you!”

Oh shit. It sent me back like two seconds. Is it going to continue until I only have 0.2 seconds to respawn?

I try to calm him down. “Okay. Okay. Sorry about that. About the rules, what if we change it a bit?”

“No,” he says.

I click my tongue and look at Vacinay. She raises an eyebrow in confusion.

She whispers, “The hell you looking at…?

“Seduce it,” I say.

Ghomas and Hessien's faces contort in horror.

Vacinay's eyes twitch; I can see murderous intent being suppressed. Well! I couldn’t think of anything else.

“Seduce it?!” The rabbit man growls.

I point at her. “Yeah, a lot of guys say she is really good at what she does—“

Suddenly, a huge rock hits my head! The shock spreads throughout my body as I collapse.

Everyone looks at the culprit with confusion.

Vacinay, with her arms folded, says, “Go on, return by death, Natsuki Subaru.”

I am going to kill her…

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

The darkness comes and disappears just as fast.

Vacinay is picking up a huge stone. I grab one too.

“You killed me!” I shout.

She raises an eyebrow before realizing what I meant.

“Ohhh! Nice.”

“Not nice!” I send the stone at her, hitting her directly in her thigh. Her bone cracks loudly.

She drops to the ground screaming.

Did I go too far? Nah. She did kill me, but I mean, I guess it was kinda different since she knew I could rewind time. Meh. She can heal the broken bone.

“I am going to kill you in your sleep!” She shouts.

“Come on, I want to see you try!”

Hessien steps between us. “Have you gone insane?!”

“No! Not yet!”

As he is about to say something else the rabbitman roars, causing the tree leaves to shake.

Oh right. He is there.

“I won! Now bring me to the settlements of the flowmans!”

Flowmans…? That is their name? Hu-man/flow-mans.

Well okay then.

Actually, I wasn’t even going to try to argue with him this time.

“Aight. Let’s go.” I start walking back to the city.

Everyone is in disbelief, including the rabbitman. He looks at the others then back at me a couple of times.

Then with an angry expression, he leaps in front of me. “You think I am stupid?! You think I am going to fall for a cheap trick?!”

“Nope.” I walk around him. “I am helping with the genocide you desire.”

“She isn’t serious, right?!” One of the guards panics.

Hessien tries to say something to calm him down, but he only manages to say, “She is very petty…”

Vacinay stares at me. I couldn’t tell if it is revenge or curiosity hiding behind those eyes.

“She is betraying us, guards. Hang her head on a stake,” she suddenly says apathetically.

The rabbitman, who has his arm in my path, blocking me, now looks disturbed.

He looks at the scared guards and then back at me. “Oh. You are being for real.”

“Yup. By the way, don’t let those guards sneak attack me on the way. I don’t like dying.”

He moves his arm and nods. “Yes, now lead the way!”

Ghomas is panicking. “What are you guards waiting for? Stop her! Don’t kill her, of course!”

“W-we?! Aren’t you all the reality defenders?!”

“Who cares about that right now?!” Ghomas argues back.

I ignore them and move forward.

We reach the city. He has a huge cloth covering him. Before entering, I tell him, “I am about to take you to a place that is connected to other cities, that way you can exact your revenge more efficiently.”

“Interesting. Tell me, why are you cooperating so well all of a sudden?”

Shit, I don’t know. Maybe because my energy points are on 0. The energy it takes is probably a kind of mental power since it feels like I spent the whole week studying notes that I don’t understand.

I tell him, “The people here tried to kill us the first time I arrived here. Perhaps it’s some kind of revenge.”

The guards that are following us whisper among each other. “Shit… Damn it! This is all because of Yuen!”

Hessien carries Vacinay on his shoulders. I notice the darkening of the skin where I hit her with the stone.

She is still glaring at me.

I almost feel bad, but then I remember she killed me. She would just have to wait till she gets healing elixirs or whatever.

Rabbitman nods. “Ah, I see. By the way, don’t think that sad story is going to make me spare you.”

“Oh wow. You still want to kill me?”

“Ima rip your guts out of your stomach just like your friends.”

Well now, you just had to piss me off.

“Ouch.” I mutter with a deadpan expression.

The city gate guards look at me then at the rabbitman.

“What the…?”

“He is one of my skill summoning,” I say. “I unlocked it tonight.”

They look at the guards who are sweating bullets.

Rabbitman also turns towards them and makes sure they can see his fangs.

“Y-yup!”

“Crazy cool summon!”

“Super useful!”

They blurt out, desperately trying to hide the fear in their voice.

The guards look at each other and nod, opening the gate allowing us in.

I notice Hessien messaged me through the party chat. I ignore it and keep moving until we reach back to our living quarters.

Using the key, I unlock the door and enter.

He hesitates. “This feels like a trap.”

“A shitty one it would be,” I say as I walk and lead to a golden door.

It follows me. Hessien and the others follow too.

“What’s behind the door?” Rabbit man asks.

“You will see soon.” I open the door and enter the bathroom which is now spotless.

I close the door before looking around and finding what I want: the spear Hessien used.

I remove my shirt to use as a glove to hold the spear, despite the fact it has been cleaned. Then I began rapidly stabbing the toilet monster.

Ha…

My body relaxes and the intense tension that was in it flows away.

He… heheheheeehehehehhehehhheh!

I open the door and tell him to come in.

“What’s this?” Rabbitman asks.

I point at the tall cylinder. “It functions as a way to travel across the city and cities. However, to trigger the skill condition, you need to stand above it with your mouth open in less than three seconds.”

“What?”

“Two seconds!” I say as I make my way out of the bathroom.

“But why does it smell?!”

“It’s meant to repulse people since it’s so powerful!” I exit the bathroom and slam the door shut. Before I did, I saw him standing in front of it with his mouth open.

“Ha…”

Suddenly, an intense force of liquid can be heard shooting out from the shitter in the bathroom.

“ARGHH!” It almost screams, but it is mainly muffled.

My body shivers and jerks around, unable to contain the laughter that is about to escape my lips.

“HHAHAHAHHAHAHAH” I laugh and even fall on the ground. It is too much!

Thud thud!

“Le— mee—“ He punches at the door, his voice still muffled.

I quickly get up and call to the others who are baffled about what happened.

Hessien puts down Vacinay and salutes to me. “I always had faith in you!”

“That doesn’t matter now!” I hold the door nub. “Help me make it drown!”

Vacinay laughs under her breath. “Drown in shit.”

Everyone, excluding Vacinay because of her broken leg, pulls on the knob, using all their willpower to keep the door in place.

The door shakes from the force of the rabbitman for three minutes. After those minutes, there were no more muffled screams and door punching or pulling.

I step back. “About two minutes right?”

Everyone looks at me, curious.

“What do you mean?” Ghomas asks.

“For that creature to absorb everything back. Then we can see if it’s a corpse.”

Hessien nods. “Not going to lie. You are starting to scare me a bit…”

I grin. “Oh yeah? I am pretty badass, aren’t I?!”

“Eh. I am not sure if that’s what to call it, since it was kinda cowardly but smart. Yet gross.”

“But it worked! It was so smooth. I had such a calm expression. I had everyone fooled! I. AM. A. GENIUS!” I proclaim, panting.

Hessien hand-chops my head. “Yeah. I guess so. You did well.”

Hmph.

One of the guards then opens the door. “Two minutes have passed.”

The dirty shit covered rabbitman collapses in front of us.

His eyes are wide open, but they aren’t lifeless yet.

Using my shirt as a glove, I take the spear that was swept away in the shit flood and walk over towards him.

His eyes move to me. He tries to move, but he fails.

I raise the spear before impaling his head with it. Soon after, all life leaves his eyes.
