I never knew I am such a talented interrogator.
First, Creating a hut helped to keep my elves from that disturbing sight. Except Dius. He is ruthless enough. I would circle around the imp while changing the intensity of the light I emit and meanwhile Dius would make outside some horrible screeches whenever I come too close.
"Hooouersetserggrgr!"
"FREFEREERGREGHGHFAAAA!"
I think Dius must have been a monster in his previous life. Or we went wrong somewhere. But his talent for horrible screeches is just enormous.
That imp went totally crazy, and after a while gave up.
He told me everything.
-> How they don’t like trees and sun.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
-> Why they never change their socks.
-> How they take having dirty teeth as a sign of wisdom.
-> How they clean their loincloth in the mud.
...and more importantly, where they live.
So I had him disposed of, and got on my secret mission. I learned that they attacked in the evening because they sleep during the day. Without exception. It will be a nice walk for sure. Setting off, I have traveled through the rest of the night, and then I knew I should reach their settlement any time by now.
It’s in an abandoned mine.
He described it as having a ‘glorious entrance’, but it was just pillars made from wood. And those ‘statues of the ancients’ were simple lumps of ore. So I infiltrated in, of course not wanting to wait till the night, when it should be really risky.
And I found out I am not the only creep here. In the shaft, what looked at me was a vague figure made of a far less dazzling light than me.
But it was disgusting.
The light of an undead apparition.
