[Arc 2] Chapter 46 - Origin ; Lestia [Part 5]

It has been approximately a month since the class was transmigrated to this world.

There were a total of 8 students that had been caught up in this peculiar situation.

Kains Amagiri (M)

Sakurai Shun (M)

Arakawa Yanagi  (F)

Uchida Mai (F)

Satonaka Sachi  (F)

Matou Takeo  (M)

Urayama Ichiyo  (M)

----------------------------------------

The students who arrived at this foreign place, opened their eyes slowly as they recovered from a terrible headache.

When they came to, they were in some sort of large hall.

The walls were decorated with various paintings and flags, and the red carpet they were on were weaved with a very exquisite design of lions and swords. There were also 3 foreign characters (words) imprinted on them in gold and white.

This place where they came to was clearly one that displayed glamorous grandeur. When they laid their eyes on the man who was sitting on a throne before them, they immediately realized what this place was.

The furcoat on his white robe, abundant jewellery hung on his body like a christmas tree, and a shiny silver crown & cane... There was nothing dissonant about the man's poised look, as his crystal blue eyes seem to judge the students with his piercing gaze.

He was a middle-aged man who had a very well-grown beard on his face; With his grey and lustrous hair, it complemented his dignified appearance very well.

He looked like the figurehead of this place; a king or someone of equal or higher position than that.

It became very apparent that this was a throne room.

While they were pretty alarmed at first, they slowly calmed themselves in the very pressurizing presence of the king.

Without a sound, they listened quietly as they were given a brief outline of what had happened to them by the man in front of them.

His voice was unsurprisingly tenor-like.

The King who addressed himself as the 4th generation Emperor; Edwin Luna de Y'liaster.

The world they had arrived in was called Serebal. There are 4 main continents in total, and each of them was inhabited successively by human, elves, beastmen and demons.

But this did not mean that each continent was exclusive in their race diversity; There were hermits who have settled down and became ambassador-like existences, and those that preferred to stay out of the public eye.

The students from earth had arrived at Edwin's palace in the Luna Empire, which was one of two Empires in the Raksha Continent, bordering the east side of the world map.

The Luna Empire had 6 states, and they were in the one at the center of it. They were in the Town of Lubelia, the heart of the center state.

While the little girl Ruler had only given a snippet to the students before they came here, it still served as a shock absorbant since they relatively knew what kind of situation they were in in a few minutes.

They had been summoned by a spatial skill: Summoning Ritual: Otherworldly Hero Transmigration.

The skill apparently summoned souls that were still drifting in the Soul Forest, and it had a specific targeting ability that prioritized people who could handle qualifications of a Hero.

However, it was a skill bestowed to the Emperor of the Luna Empire whenever it was deemed necessary by the Goddess of this world; Ruler. This was also a one-time use skill, to prevent the world balance from shifting too heavily.

When the students became slightly aware of where they were now in this obviously different world, they were all given a briefing of how to live in this world as well as the duties they had to fulfil to stay in this country.

The Raksha Continent is currently under the threat of demon invasion, and the students were chosen to be suitable candidates for the hero title.

Of course, they were briefed on this previously by Ruler as well, but they could not accept this obviously.

They had been allegedly kidnapped, and now they were being ordered to run an errand which sounded extremely dangerous. A few girls began to become very vocal with dissent, with the exception of the guys.

One of the guys even did a guts pose at the prospect of their situation.

But although the dissenting opinions and unruly behavior of everyone else startled the Emperor who did not expect such a reaction, the first to calm everyone down was a very charismatic guy.

His name was Kains Amagiri.

"Hey guys, we should at least hear them out right? ...Emperor Edwin, is that right? May I ask a question, if you so choose to generously entertain the curiosity of someone not of this world?"

Kains knelt down in front of Edwin in a very knightly fashion.

"O-oi Kains... you shouldn't stoop to his-" (whisper)

"Let me negotiate the terms of our future here please. We're still lacking alot of knowledge in this world. Our lives are literally at his disposal, I will at least try to make it better." (whisper)

Shun, who was Kains's close follower kept his mouth shut when he heard that.

"Mm, you may ask away. For the peace of our country... we desperately hope that you can slay the Demon King. As we speak, the Demon King might just be accumulating his army to overwhelm us upon his revival. I know it may be selfish of me to say this, so I will answer anything you want within my limits."

"Thank you very much."

From there, another person took the place of Edwin who was seemingly tired of talking.

The person dispatched to explain how things worked in this world was his right-hand man in his twenties who introduced himself as Bartley.

Wearing a tailored white suit and having light blue hair that wasn't very far away from the appearance of the Emperor, he truly deserved his title of being the Emperor's close aide. While the Emperor did not strike a chord among the girls, Bartley definitely did. Bartley wore a monocle on his clean-shaven face, devoid of any facial hair.

His fashionable white fitting that included a white sword sheath mesmerized the female students, who were beginning to have a very sweet delusion about the man that they had just met. Their rowdy behavior was nowhere to be seen. The two nerdy guys who saw this, clicked their tongues and cursed quietly.

"First of all, only one of you can become the destined hero. But the others will also be granted a special power randomly from the effects of the summoning skill. All of you play a very important role in the fight with those demons.

Now allow me explain... how you can discover your own abilities."

When Matou and Ichiyo, the two inseperable pair of otakus in their own rights heard this, they were the first to understand the implications behind those words. The two began to whisper excitedly between themselves.

"Hey... did he just say abilities?"

"Fuck yeah, it's time for the cheats to arrive!"

"Now image this in your head. A blue and translucent rectangular window inscribed with text. When you are done, repeat this after me. Status Check."

From there, they were taught the game-like functions like Status Check, levels and subjects listed inside the Status Window.

One of the nerd guys, Urayama Ichiyo, was the first to check his status.

Since he had known of this trope beforehand, he quickly spotted the parts where the stats were clearly cheats and some other abilities that gave them an edge in combat. Everyone had received a large stat boost that was extremely high for a human in this world. But the parts Ichiyo was interested in, were the skills.

Urayama Ichiyo had received the class Flame Wizard, and its class ability known as Unlimited Flames Conjuring LV MAX. While it just did what it read, the flames were incredibly hot. It also had no cast time, limit, and chant restrictions. As Ichiyo was an otaku that loved to collect weapons like guns and swords, he wanted to have knowledge on every kind of topic that related to them. Frequenting the library and requesting books that taught him skills, he used the fact that he could read books of another language to learn various skills.

Since the language was conveniently being deciphered with Worldly Language Comprehension, the students had no issues conversing with the people from this other world, and reading books would immediately convert themselves into comprehensible text.

Among them was Weapon Appraisal LV1. He quickly found an application for the skill during one of the training sessions with the knights they were assigned with for sparring. He found out that he could inbue a sword with the flames and it would imprint the Flame Element and Burn Chance to the sword permanently, raising the strength of the enchanted weapon by 5000.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Realizing that, he called himself a magic swordsman and wandered around town and causing trouble with the adventurers around. Since he was more powerful than any of them, he became a common hindrance around trying to show off and provoke the men callously. Ichiyo had never gotten this much power before in his life, and it was his dream to get back at the men who appeared more well-built than him and called him a weakling and a nerd. He was one of the two troublemakers around town.

However, there were no sword that could handle the flames for more than a minute, but Ichiyo did not care. He burnt through a mountain of swords whenever he did come for training, and never practised his sorcery. He could conjure fire-element magic like Fireball and Fire Pillar normally and it still dealt considerable damage more than an average magician specialized in fire-element magic. But Ichiyo never held too much interest in them.

Matou Takeo was more uncaring about these kinds of things. Although he had received the class Martial Lord and its class passive skill known as Martial Stance Correction LV MAX, he couldn't be bothered to exercise with his more flabby body.

This was a passive ability with a toggle, and it raised strength, dexterity, defense and magic defense by 1000. It also gave the user Spatial Awareness LV5 and Ignore Inertia LV5. There were no downsides nor mana costs to this ability, so Takeo kept it on.

When he knew that it came with no drawbacks, Takeo told everyone else that it would just activate automatically when he needed it. This was the reason he gave to skip training.

Since everyone was given a large allowance for them not to feel restrained and to give them the spendour as a hero, he quickly navigated around and found a slave merchant where he could put the money to good use. He quickly expended most of his allowance on 4 demihuman slaves. Takeo had a inferiority complex towards women, and he dealt with that through violence. The depravities that he had committed to them were something only he knew.

The female students detested the fact that Takeo had bought slaves for his own desires, but they could not do anything about it. Slaves were a foreign concept to them, but not to this world. While it was not openly encouraged, one could still get their hands on them if they wanted it as it was still legal.

He spent the month living somewhere else from the group to enjoy himself with the slaves he had bought, and had gotten a little more fatter as a result. Even with the slaves... no, perhaps it was because of the things he had did to the slaves, he became more open about his lecherous actions. He would go around town to grope and flirt with women under the guise of being a hero.

Sakurai Shun had the class Berserker, and received its class-specific skill at level 1: Enrage Blood LV MAX. It was an ability that can only target oneself. When used, the recipient would enter the enraged state, giving a sharp boost of 5000 to all stats for 30 seconds. Of course, the stat increase was much higher than the berserkers in this world due to the heightening effect of the summoning skill that brought the class to this world. And an average berserker in this world would only max out Enrage Blood at their 40's.

However, weapon penalty for lightweight weapons would be incurred during this duration just like normal berserkers. It was a class restriction to compensate for the stat increase; This was clearly a skill that suited Shun, who liked to think with action.

He continued to practice diligently with the knights every day, and was probably the only one left doing it seriously aside from the two girls Uchida Mai and Satonaka Sachi who were only there to patronize the days Bartley was around for the training.

He also had a secondary support skill Party Connect: Telepathy. It was exactly like it read, it could talk to people within the party through the mind. But it would first require the other party to accept the telepathy request before the line connected. It was kind of like cell service. During his spare time, he would find Kains to have a round of sparring or chatting. Aside from that, he had also registered as an adventurer. He would sometimes wander around the Adventurer's Guild in town and do a few simple quests of killing the nearby monsters before retiring to his chambers to sleep and repeat the process again the next day.

Uchida Mai, a former Gal friend of Lestia, had long since cut their relationship clean after the rape incident.

Similar to her flamboyant personality, she had received the class, War Maiden; an extremely rare class that only appears once every few hundred years. It was a class designated to raise war potential of armies by a huge amount.

She had gained the unique-class ability Holy Spirit, which doubled the buff duration and effects of her other class abilities like Battlecry, Battle Roar and Battle Spirit. All of these buffs could stack with each other without overlapping, which made her play a fundamental role against actual battles as a support.

As her potential and powerful class was also recognized by Bartley during one of the training sessions, he had bestowed to her an armor set and sword from the Empire's treasury. It was 2 of the 8 Imperial Arms, with one of them closely rivalling the power levels of the infamous demonic blades of this world. The armor was called Snowfall, granting the person wearing it a 20% effect increase in passive skills. This was to heighten the already high resistances of a War Maiden so she doesn't die easily when targeted by collective enemy fire.

The sword Harmony was a legendary ceremonial sword from the Church of Maiea, a devout following of worshippers under the guidance of the Goddess of War, Maiea. Besides having imbued with a Holy Attribute that increased abilities of the Holy Attribute by 50%, it was also made with Palladium blessed by a large number of Maiea followers, giving it a special property that doesn't lose durability permanently, meaning the sword will never break.

It was also noted by Bartley that the sword had very few people who could use it to the extreme, specially-titled classes like War Maiden, Paladin of Igneus, High Bishop, Saint and Sword Saint. There may be an unrecorded class in this world, but these were the more known ones around. Although paladins, clerics, bishops and monks shared the Holy Attribute like those few classes, they could not make use of the sword to its fullest potential.

Having been recognized by someone she was gunning after, Mai became even more daring in her advances towards Bartley. Although Bartley initially rejected her advances due to his existing commitment towards his wife, the experienced Mai who had bedded multiple men before won him over with her various seduction attempts. Eventually, they began an affair and became very intimate behind closed doors.

Arakawa Yanagi was a bespectacled bookworm that usually acted alone, but has since became tight friends with Satonaka Sachi and Mizutani Inaho. She was identified as a Cleric, and holed herself up in the Palace Library, where she would occasionally be visited by the other two girls for a chat. Other times, she would catch a glimpse of Urayama Ichiyo, and she would frown and hide herself so that she would not get caught up into trouble.

Although she did read up on what she was capable of doing, she mainly read romance fictions from this world and many other fictional titles. The lack of training was because she had a rough understanding of what her class did, however enhanced it was. There was nothing too noteworthy about her profession.

Clerics still did the necessities of healing impressive amounts of damage up to 2000 per cast of Advanced Heal LV MAX for the party, while the average high-end clerics in this world did 800 at best. Thus, Bartley had given her protective gear as well albeit not one of the Imperial Arms. It was an expensive purple robe that gave Fire Resistance LV4 and Poison Resistance LV4, the two resistances that were mostly effective against the various identified species of the Demon King's familiars in the previous war fought by the last generation of the hero party 80 years ago. Yanagi also had Duality Status Cure, which kept her party members safe from status effects that came from all kinds of alignments.

Satonaka Sachi, who had lost Hana and Yaiba during the time in the Soul Forest, became more attached to the quieter side of girls. Along with Yanagi and Inaho, they usually hung out in the library. Sachi found her own contrasting aloof attitude very comforting, and she skipped most training sessions as well and found enjoyment in tasting the food in this world. Since Mai was already showing signs of taking Bartley on her own, Sachi gave up on that and instead tried to find solace among her other single female friends.

Her class was a Swordsman, and the powerful ability bestowed upon her was Sword Mastery LV MAX. This granted her access to a variety of intermediate sword skills, but she hardly used them ever since coming to this world.

Mizutani Inaho was a weird girl with very long and frizzy bangs. She was part of the Occult Club back in school, and had a long time crush on Kains. She had loved Kains discreetly in their previous world, but she had since become more open about it arriving to this place, often times stalking him while he was out in the city getting acquainted with the residents.

Kains had taken notice of this one day. But instead of being reproachful about it, he treated her nicely, much to Inaho's surprise. Since that time, she felt even more strongly that if it's him who had become the destined hero, they could get through this weird situation in one piece. And possibly, something might happen between them. That was what she earnestly thought, as she became slightly more into the training sessions in order not to slow Kains down in actual combat... ...for a week before giving up. Her physique and mental will wasn't very strong to begin with.

Her class was a Summoner, and since she was afraid of large and wild animals even with her Taming Mastery LV MAX which could take control of most wild and high-leveled monsters in the 60's range, she didn't manage to get any war potential with her skill at all. Inaho ended up with two dogs she took pity on when she went out on the streets one day. But they became as harmless as household pets after a month of feeding them.

Kains Amagiri, who was a born leader in his previous life, had convincingly received the title of Hero. All of his stats was raised by 9000 permanently in addition to his original status, and he had access to max mastery over every single weapon type. He also has various passive skills like Status Correction and Spatial Awareness LV MAX that prevented him from dying to any surprise attacks or negative ailments that would affect his status during combat.

He had his own unique skillset tailored for the hero class as well; Light Speed to triple the speed of his movement for 5 seconds, Perfect Guard to negate any targeted attack or skill against hit for 5 seconds, and Indomitable Spirit, which ignored all resistances of his next attack target for 5 seconds.

He was truly the pinnacle of humanity, tasked to defeat the Demon King.

A month passed as each student did their own thing freely in this world.

----------------------------------------

"Search party?"

"Yes, that's right. Sir Kains."

"Are we going outside the city?"

"Yes. The king has observed the lifestyles of the esteemed heroes for a month now. And he is taking the chance to raise the reputation of the summoned heroes by letting this group join the search party that's setting off tomorrow."

"Huh?! Are you implying that we have a bad reputation?!"

"Unfortunately, that is so."

"You-!"

"Don't, Shun. He's right. Some of us have been idle all these while under the good grace of the Emperor of Luna, it's a good opportunity to wash off all the bad reputation that's been plaguing our group."

"What bad reputation?! It's clear that it's just those two guys that's stirring up stuff in town."

"Like I said, it's a good opportunity. Lest anyone of us declines, they're sure to receive some harsh reception from the people in town too. Those two won't be able to show their faces properly if they did not do the one thing they were kept around for."

"Well... you're right... ...I guess that's fine then."

Kains mediated peacefully in between the other boy and the knight who had gave them the news.

Still, a search party huh...

Oh well, we'll get the specifics once I ask the people around here~

"Shun, can you call the rest to gather up at night at the dining hall downstairs? You have the Party Connect: Telepathy skill right?"

"Sure. I'll give you a call again once I've gotten everyone."

"Okay, I'll see you later."

Kains smiled and waved while the boy called Sakurai Shun left to his own devices.

Judging from the full armor that the guys were told to wear during the sparring sessions, he was probably just going back to practice with the other knights at the courtyard...

At this point, he's really the only one attending the drills diligently now.

I don't know whether he's stupid, or just desperate to get stronger in this place.

...

Shun was a long-time follower of Kains. Although he was hot-headed at times, he was a nice guy that stood firm in his ideals for justice. That was why he spewed expletives and fought delinquents frequently, oftentimes because they were involved in some kind of shady business.

But that did not make him popular for standing up to bullies at all. In the process of being someone who got into trouble often, he was shunned very quickly in school.

But Kains didn't. When the two met one day, Kains admired his ideals of heroism and accepted Shun as a friend without discrimination. That was when Shun decided to change himself so he wouldn't scare off people as soon as they met him.

He went to the same class as Kains during his first year and admired his way of conducting himself in school. Becoming his role model very quickly as he continued to observe him since they were both in the same class, he finally decided to join the Basketball Club as well to learn from him. He soon attached a label "Kains's bestie" to himself, and slowly people began to approach him and got to know him. Shun was very grateful to Kains for this till this day.

The two guys he was referring to was Matou Takeo and Urayama Ichiyo. They were the class nerds who would always stay behind during lunch and after school to talk about their hobbies.

Takeo was the guy who had shouted that he wanted to visit the slave merchants for a harem. And he really did went and purchased a few to please himself. While Ichiyo went around flaunting his powers and injuring the adventurers when they tried to retaliate to the provocation.

The two were banned from many establishments around town, but that did not stop the two guys from entering them anyway. They were kings in this world, since they had authority as heroes.

Since the students had shouldered the responsibilities of being a hero, the emperor had given them free reign in his country. This proved to be a bad idea for the two who could not control themselves with their newly found status and wealth.

That was probably the reason why the group of students had to mobilize this time.

Cursing to himself silently at being caught up into this mess, Kains Amagiri waited for the sun to set as he sat on the front porch. At the large and stylish mansion the class was given to live in, he waited as the residents returned for the night and began the briefing shortly after.
