Zoe looked at Raine's retreating silhouette, her shadow a dark whisper caressing the velvet flooring.
A dazed gaze drilling a hole in the ground, her disbelief settled in a little late.
He had the nerve to come back. After what he did. Her brows pinched, the anger bottled up from the seconds-long interaction from previously bubbled over and out in a mess of burnt goo.
"Goddamnit." She bit out. She tugged her taut ponytail in exasperation, an unhappy grunt sounding. And what the hell was that blank look he gave her! Even if Raine forgot, she definitely didn't forget.

"Zoe!" Another shout came from behind the screen.
Turning, she stalked over, her face darkening with his blasted face clouding her head. Goddamnit she just felt wanted to rake him through the coals and burn him on a—
"Are we using the velvet background?"
Zoe took a deep breath, clearing her head. "For the flooring yes." She turned to look at the temporary lavish set-up behind. "Move the couch over here." She pointed to the front. "Where's Marie?"
"She's still checking her camera."
She nodded, taking another turn round the set, her fingers grazing the soft fur of the feather rug thrown across the couch. "Start when Zack's here." Her teeth gritted with the mention of the name that so obviously wasn't his.
