The night are long and gloomy on inside the walled city of Orion. The people all have heavy expression and even though shops lit up the street, it does not have the usual hubbub you will see on a market street. The people , both hunters and civilians, haggle and converse in a low voice and short conversation.

Their action cannot be said to be unnatural. It is normal for people who live on the front lines islands of the thousand star peninsula to be always on vigil and heavy mood. This is because they are in a war.

A few years ago, on the extreme part of the northern domain, a huge explosion of energy have been felt. The wave of the explosion even reach the farthest part of the other region domain. The wave of energy does not only carry a huge amount of power from a source that can not be known , it also carry fear. It's akin to a primal fear, like the fear of the unknown. This made the people feel that something happen to world after that wave of energy. And their feelings have been affirmed when a few days after the incident, wave and waves of monster from the deep ocean of the north crowded the islands of the domain. This initial incident taken thousand of lives and destroyed hundreds of home including a few islands . The ruling government of the northern domain , after seeing the destruction, flee to the south domain together with his accolades and families leaving the domain like a headless chicken. The people despair and have already give up just after a month of daily attack from the monsters, millions loss families and home everyday and was force to retreat on the directions of the south, but with limited numbers of ships, there are a lot of people that was left on the islands of the north. That is until the Hunters Organization made stations on the islands forming a resistance line against the monster , do the people see a little light of hope. The hunters number are limited so they rely on their recruitment on the other domains to maintain the numbers of troop that can be station on the front lines. But still, thousand lives are being loss each day , making it harder for them maintain stability.

The hunters on each station are mercenaries from different region domain gather in the island bordering the northern domain to prevent the advance of the abyssal monsters and to maintain a wall that will protect their families back home . So they are respected my all and seen as a heroes by the remaining locals of the northern domain. The people can see hope of getting back they normal lives with the help of the hunters.

But little did they know, the situations on the front lines are far from optimistic. The monsters number have multiplied instead of dwindle as the time goes by, they learn very quickly and have been able to derived strategies to face the resistance they face. Aside from their number , they also getting stronger too, the numbers of behemoths keep getting higher and the their frequency of attack are also more that the previous years.

The darkness brought by the abyss slowly but surely covering the surface of the world, and it knows no one can stop it from doing so.

I walk up from my sleep by a ray of light they get straight to face. I wake up an yawn and then I walk outside the porch and look on the horizon .

"It's another beautiful day" I said with smile . I don't need to hunt today because of my great harvest yesterday so I plan to roam the city and find somethings to do to have fun. I washy face and then cook my breakfast while humming a song that I heard from the minstrel the other day.

"Hmmm.....hmmm_~~"

I never really understand that song. After eating, I pondered for awhile on what to do today first . I scratch my chin while thinking , and then I decide to go shopping first , I could get new cooking utensils and ingredients to stock on the cupboard. So I come out of the house to go to the street market to see what I can buy . I don't usually browse on the stall but today I decided to take my time. I tried to fell the produce and pick the best " How much for all this " I ask the seller with a smile . "100 balc" said the seller blankly without even looking at me so I just drop a hundred coins on the stall and go my merry way.

I was strolling around when I notice the three idiots I saw yesterday. They are in clothes shop browsing the goods. " They must have trashed their clothes yesterday, it not surprising by how they face those monsters attack , they will surely destroy their clothes" I holler a "Hi " as I walk pass them , they raised their head to look at me and the they slowly nod at me , I smile back at them and I continue walking ahead.

My next destination is the temple . I like the old lady that is guarding there so I usually give some of my earnings to her when I earn big. I walk slowly while humming the same song I and in the morning when I saw the old lady sweeping some fallen leaves on the area on the front of the temple " Good morning Grandma!" I holler at her with a bright smile, she slowly lift her eyes and then smiled at me when she saw me. " Oh you rascal , here again to trow away your hard earned money" said her with a little laugh. " Haha.. I earned quite a few yesterday , here " I motion a bag of coins to her , she slowly reach for it , with a clear sign of reluctance " you really don't need to do this , you should just buy things you want with this money " she stated with soft voice " it's alright , I can't really use up all that money . Haha , so see you again I m goin to buy me some booze in the pub" says me as I wave goodbye at her. " Francis , don't keep on blaming yourself for what happen , it's not your fault" she said with a smile . I look at her with a confuse face " what do you mean.?" I asked but she just smile at me so I just pass that up to my mind an go my way to the pub.

I heard a sobbing sound as I approach a corner and I saw a kid crying so I walk closer to her , " what's wrong " I asked " I -i can't find my d-daddy , I miss him so much "

" You know kid , my wife send a letter to me saying I will become a dad"

"When I came back to the south I will build my wife I huge house, and then I will never leave her side again "

" I-It's not your f-fault , live a h-happy life .... My friend"

" Don't cry I'm sure you will find him if you look hard enough" I said to her and then I walk to my merry way to the pub.
