The gathering of students stood around the clearing in Medous Forest; some of them constructed a makeshift stove, using a campfire under a thin flat wide rock, and others brought out dry wood from their inventory and placed them before Neil. Neil brandished a common stone axe and made quick work of the wood as he chopped them into thin sticks or planks.
(Neil is an average-height and fair-skinned teenaged human male; he has dark blond hair with faint orange tips and orange eyes)
From a slight distance, Zalroth walked around the perimeter of the clearing while staring at Neil.

"No difference between the first and second levels it seems," Zalroth stated before he dismissed Neil's status menu. As he continued circling the clearing's perimeter, Zalroth heard a beep before he pulled out his uncommon stone knife from his inventory. As multiple low snarls rang near him, Zalroth jumped away from the perimeter as a trio of red-furred direwolves bursted out from the forest.

"At least that level thirty-four was an outlier... it must've been a pack... leader," Zalroth thought aloud before putting himself into a sprinting-ready stance.
[Activated Ability: Weakening Howl]
A faint compression of air shot out from Zalroth, racing through the air with a loud wolven-like whistle, catching the attention of the other students. The skill startled the direwolves and made them briefly halt their attack as Zalroth raised a hand to the direwolves.
"Let's try using skills this time," Zalroth remarked.
[Activated Flame Blast(Level: 1) x2]
Embers seeped from Zalroth's hand and gathered into two dense swirling balls of flames. The direwolves dug their paws into the dirt and lunged at Zalroth. Zalroth flexed his arm and the fireballs flickered before erupting into two small waves of flames. The flames slammed into the wolves and exploded into crackling explosions. The explosions sent the battered direwolves flying as two separate red digital numbers appeared by each of them, totalling around two-thirds of their healths. As the direwolves spiralled through the air, Zalroth flexed his legs before dashing at the direwolves.
[Activated Accel Drive(Level: 1) x3]
In a flash, three sheening knife slashes sliced through the direwolves' napes as Zalroth dashed past them and the last of the direwolves' HP was depleted. The direwolves collapsed onto the ground and bursted into red hexa particles as Zalroth landed on his feet.

"... I wonder if the detect skill increased because I used it in a battle or because I used it multiple times... will have to test it later," Zalroth thought before glancing to his side. As he dispelled his RPG menus, Zalroth turned around to the approaching Chronia and Saria.
"Still grinding levels are you?" Saria asked cheekily, making Zalroth silently cross his arms at her.
"I'm checking the perimeter," Zalroth stated coldly.
"But do you need to be so near the forest to check?" Chronia asked poutfully as she placed her hands on her hips.
"The skill's range was only five meters," Zalroth stated.
"Was?" Saria asked while Chronia's eyes lit up at realising what Zalroth was implying.
"So it levelled up?" Chronia asked. Zalroth nodded his head and showed the duo his Skill List. The duo stared in perplexed amazement before Zalroth swiftly closed his Skill List.
"It's impressive how you've already gotten so many skills, Hubby," Chronia remarked happily. Zalroth unamusedly sighed, lowering his arms and returning his uncommon stone knife to his inventory.
"... other than, Ardentus, I'm the only person who's gained any levels so making comments on my amount of skills has no point of reference, also... don't call me that," Zalroth said unamusedly. Chronia huffed angrily while lightly squeezing her fists.
"Fine... Leader," Chronia grumbled. Zalroth flinched at Chronia's remark.
"... I retract my previous demand," Zalroth uttered defeatedly before Chronia victoriously raised her hands.
"Why am I even the leader, wouldn't Lurioku or Aoina make more sense?" Zalroth grumbled as he rubbed the space between his eyes.
"It's because Unit said so," a pouty girly voice with a digital effect stated, making the trio jump in shock. Chronia and Saria frantically darted their heads around in an attempt to locate the owner of the voice while Zalroth resumed rubbing his eyes for a brief moment.
"... Ignore that?" Zalroth uttered defeatedly.
"Ignore that," the short duo said in sync, eliciting the disembodied voice to huff in frustration. Chronia and Saria nodded at each other as they affirmed to themselves the decision to ignore the disembodied voice; Chronia even mentioning the last game she played had a disembodied voice as a guide who turned out to be the final boss.
"I still don't know why I'm the Leader though," Zalroth mumbled defeatedly. Zalroth raised a hand towards the forest before firing a level: 2 Flame Blast off into the forest. The larger wave of flames raced through the forest wading through the trees before exploding in unison with a mirriade of monster-type goblins screeching for a brief moment.
