Story Idea:
This is the story of a Pokemon ranger who is under a curse where he lives two different lives. Will include an OC and a made up pokemon. The story will include multiple perspectives from Pokemon and people with problems. These problems act as short stories that get solved by the ranger. The story will have an underlying plot that plays along with the story. There will be a ranger who gets involved with the next chapter acting as a retelling of his story. Elements of corrupted pokemon will be included. Stories first starts in Kalos and deeply consider the cocoon of destruction. It then takes place in another place like Unova or Hoenn or Aloha(has ties to the other dimension)
* The pokemon ranger (Most likely Jack (when compared to Jekyll and hyde))
* The Ranger origin story is about a high-intensity Ace trainer who is decent at battling but is a stick in the mud when compared to his peers. In a battle for the championship, he loses by not even making it to the semi-finals.(Age 21) He inevitably gets upset by his losing streak and takes his anger out on his Pokemon by making his Pokemon train until they drop. His desire to win and to become stronger is slowly distorting his original ideas of what it meant to be a pokemon trainer. (Age 23) His friends and peers inevitably distance themselves after he ends up training one of his pokemon to the point of death. He gets his ace trainer licence revoked and his pokemon leave his party to either live out in the wild after being completely scarred from their experience or join his friend's parties. (Age 24)
* He becomes a washed-out man who has no friends (except one person who is a close friend and is a pokemon ranger, his name is Robin) and drinks his life away until the main point of the story which is at age 27. Jack is drinking heavily in a bar until he gets publicly humiliated and berated by people and finally gets kicked out of the bar for having no poke dollars (physical cash) with him. At this point, his friend Robin approaches him and helps him up and decides to try and fix his life by telling him that he can’t live his life like this and should get over his guilt of killing/almost killing his partner Pokemon. He decided to pull some strings and to personally train Jack to be a pokemon ranger. Jack dismisses it but says that he will consider it (Robin has tried many times to fix Jack). When Robin asks Jack if he’d like to be driven home, Jack declines by saying he’s fine.
* He walks home but ends up walking in the wrong direction into a forest. {Recently there was news of an earthquake which led to a fissure opening up.} In a drunken stupor, he stumbles around until the ground falls below him. He falls into the crypt luckily managing to survive. The area seems to be haunted and filled with the fossils of various pokemon that originate from those long ago. He ends up tripping on some strange keystone or relic that seems to be an egg trapped in amber. He trips over breaking the amber and starts to bleed from his wounds.
* After waking up, he feels as if he has lived in a dream his whole life. Living two different lives in the past and present. He doesn’t remember much from his experiences. He does seem to remember some details about his species and how his species went extinct. He awakes to find himself in the crypt. He is confused as to why everything seems much bigger around him and has no idea what is going on until he finds his unconscious body on the floor. He starts to freak out but decides to check his previous bodies pulse but is confused that his body still has a pulse. Take note of the situation, he manages to patch up his wounds by taking note of first aid training that he did with Robin. He looks around the crypt and is confused to find that he can translate the various glyphs and unknown text around the crypt. He gets flashbacks to the life of the pokemon he lived as. The name of his species is called Caudate which evolves into a Caecilian or a Proteus based on the variant. He is a ghost bug type. He seems to be a slug that acts as an ordinary pokemon until it dies. Once the slug dies, it eats up the soul of the creature acting as a strange reverse parasite that traps the soul in its body.
* He looks throughout the crypt finding out knowledge to suggest that the Pokemon he turned into is likely extinct. He ends up fighting a few wild Pokemon until he reaches another Caudate stuck in amber. Against his human instincts, he breaks open the amber. This leads to the Caudate attacking him for sustenance. He almost dies to the Female Caudate until he mentions a few details suggesting that their species went extinct and that the world she knew in the past is long gone. The Female Caudate stops and starts to cry at this thought until an Araquanid attacks them. They almost die until Robin breaks into the crypt and uses his styls to scare the spider away. Robin see’s Jacks human body but notices that he is alive, just unconscious and uses his pokemon to drag him to a pokemon center. Jack (as a slug) and the other Caudate (Jack decides to name her Talia while Robin calls her kiwi, much to her dismay) decide to hitch a ride with Robin to the pokecenter.
* While Talia is confused at what to do at first, Jack says that she should come with him and Robin if she doesn’t know what else she should do. She is confused at his proposal as she was just previously trying to eat him and only saw him as food but he just shrugs at this notion. He just states that there have been many moments in his life where he wasn’t at his best and that if he was devoured, that would just be what life wished to deal to him. But now that he is miraculously alive, he feels like this is life providing a second chance at life and he would be a fool not to take it and would be even more foolish to prevent others from feeling the same way. Talia is notably confused by his behavior but decides to come with him.
* After the point of this event, two years pass making Jack 29 years old. During these two years, he finds out that his human body is in a coma. He mostly sticks around the Pokemon center where he hangs about with other Pokemon. Robin is plagued by grief and visits Jack's body every once in a while to check on his condition. He and Talia end up becoming friends and finally fall in love which each other. Jack ends up getting caught by a pokeball at the pokemon center by a poacher[?] and gets shipped elsewhere to Aloha by an organization that appeared to buy him. He finds himself on a cargo plane that is flying to Aloha. He lands in a discrete abandoned private airport that is in the slum/gang territory of Team Skull.
* While in a cage, (this is due to the safety measures a Pokeball has that deters long-term storage) Jack notices a disturbance caused by a small 12 year old boy who gets caught by members of team Skull for spying on them. Team Skull debates taking him hostage for money or for protection as they worry that authorities have noticed their wrongdoings. The boy appears to be a well known figure related to a pokemon professor and could be worth lots of ransom money. Jack and the boy get locked up together. At this point, Jack wonders what he could do when he thinks about trainer and pokemon bonds which grant great power. He and the boy team up and make a bond to escape from Team Skull. They almost die until Jack evolves into Proteus and manages to escape from Team Skull. The boys name is Hyde Burnet (Is a distant relative of Professor Burnet who explore into dimensional portals and can be found in Sun and Moon) Hyde Burnet is a boy who has gone traveling everywhere since the recent death of his parents. He lives with Professor Burnet who is doing various field tests in locations across the world. This will cause problems for Jack later in the story.
* At this point, Jack passes out and finds himself waking up in his human body at the hospital. {Two things: either Talia can be missing and he needs to go on a quest to find her or she is just at the pokemon center, she will most likely be in the pokemon center.} Either way, Robin visits him, Talia becomes his new partner pokemon eventually and he spends his time training to be a ranger so he can have the money and opportunities to find his pokemon body. However, he seems to have difficulties finding his pokemon body as Professor Burnet end up in some weird adventures across the world while Jack is also dealing with difficult problems while being a ranger. The main story starts at age 30.
* At this point the story will deal with various pokemon and people that he helps along the way and deal with various problems he has with his body. For one, he feels the pain of other people or pokemon that he has bonded with causing many difficulties. He can also share perspectives with people who he has bonded with. This is one of the main reason why he choses to not be a pokemon trainer and avoids combat.
* He will meet some of the pokemon and friends from his past.
* The pokemon is a madeup pokemon that I came up with.
* For mating relationships think about how a female wasp kills a male wasp and plants the eggs on the male wasp. A cool and interesting detail.
* The Prio’s were wiped out by Yvetal and the cocoon of destruction which turned the whole species into stone wiping them out. Prios mostly lived in one location with very few existing outside the central nest.
* Prios are considered to be bug dragons in their final state.
* The main reason why Jack doesn’t leave Hyde Burnet in Aloha is because his body would be completely defenseless in the wild and also due to the trainer bond that he formed with Hyde.
* Trainer bonds act as benefits that arise as a symbiotic relationship between Pokemon and humans. This bond can provide various benefits, especially for type specialists who really reap benefits from their bonds. A pokemon with a bond gains almost double the exp they would normally and a trainer under a bond get strange bonuses as well. Such as psychic type or ghost type trainers gaining psychic powers. Grass type trainers being able to regrow limbs. Fire type trainers having resistance to high temperatures, almost to the point to being able to survive in fires for short amounts of time. Dark types having very little presence. And etc.
Prio (Bug Type):A small worm that eats souls. There are two paths that it can take. If it doesn’t eat a soul and evolves to Caudate(Female-Variant(It doesn’t need to be female but it was easier for me this way)), then it gains its own individual personality. Otherwise, if the Prio eats the soul of a weakened creature (the creature needs to be weakened to be put under a curse), it will take the soul creature becoming the Caudate(Male-variant) Prio’s will typically curse targets that are either dead or dying to ensure the curse is effective. If a target lives, strange circumstances can arise from this. Its type is bug (but has psychic moves) Think about Galade and Gardevoir

Caudate (Female/Pure -Variant) (Bug-Psychic Type): A strange pinkish/turquoise small slug-like those in slugterra. Its form is very weak being one of the weakest Pokemon in the game. It has strange powers though that give it strength. It does have a very fast speed and decent attack capabilities The Female-variant of the Caudate is much stronger and faster than the Male-variant (Taking note of wasps and spiders which have stronger females). There can be male versions of this variant however, they are much rarer. They typically act as the main force in reproduction as they use large amounts of energy to forcefully bring about new life. They evolve in to Caecilian.
Caudate (Male/Cursed -Variant) (Ghost-Bug Type): A strange whitetish/purplish/grayish small slug-like those in slugterra. Its form is very weak being one of the weakest Pokemon in the game. It has strange powers though that give it strength and can form special bonds. Sadly, as a disadvantage, it is cursed. The Male-variant is much weaker then the female-variant is typically used. There can be female versions of this variant however, they are much rarer.
Typcially cursed male versions of the Caudate act as sustenance for the Female Caudates. The souls of Cursed Caudates are consumed and then used to help aid in the growth of Pure Caudates.
Caecilian (Female/Pure Variant) (Bug-Dragon Type): A large draconic salamander that looks like a snake. It has tendrils that acts as its legs that allow it to burrow into the ground. The Caescilian will act as the mother as it typically choses its mate, makes the nest, and is the dominant figure. It typically will find the strongest mate and will make a special bond that allows it to wake up the Proteus.
Proteus (Male/Cursed Variant) (Ghost-Steel Type): -A strange metal-like cocoon that typically acts as the father in a relationship. It typically sleeps for large amounts of time ranging from 12 hours to the more typical 18 to 23 hours per day. The Caecilian will typically lead around the Proteus when it is a cocoon and will protect it. If the Proteus’s mate or offspring are in danger, it will awake causing it to release its stored power to go into a powerful state that reaches the pinnacle of strength for its species. It temporarily evolves into a misty tendril like creature that can shed its skin to become a sleek like salamander that has no discernable form.
Duoletus (Primal Evolution of Proteus): Ghost centipede that has great powers. It is dark in nature and is very hard to see. It tends to do the best in the moonlight which it gains power from.
