“No!”
Xu Zijin felt great pain in her lower abdomen and almost fainted. However, when she heard what Fu Sinian said, she suddenly came back to her senses. She grabbed the lower hem of his shirt, tears welling up in her eyes as she begged, “Sinian… Don’t do that to me… Don’t hurt my unborn child…”
Fu Sinain squinted at her with an insidious malicious expression in his eyes.
‘She said that she loved me. But as my wife, she slept with another man and is pregnant. Now she even desperately protects this unborn child,’ he thought to himself.
The more he thought, the angrier he became. Gradually, His heart hardened against her.
He reached out, grasped her wrist and slowly detached her hand from his shirt with all his strength as if to crush the bones of her wrist.
Xu Zijin refused to let him go because she was afraid of losing her child. “Sinian, I beg you…”
However, Fu Sinian didn’t change his mind. He tore off the low hem of his shirt and backed up a few steps. She tried to grasp his arm but failed.
“Abort the unborn child!” he said in a cold voice.
“Ah!” Xu Zijin screamed, her beautiful face distorted with pain and despair. “Fu Sinian, I hate you! I hate you to the core!”
Xu Zijin's heart was filled with anger and hatred toward Fu Sinian. She jumped from the hospital trolley with surprising strength, put her hand over her belly and ran forward in a panic.
‘I have to run away. I won't let you kill my child. I must escape from the hospital and find a safe place to hide,’ she thought to herself.
Xu Zijin ran barefoot along the corridor, leaving a trail of blood on the floor.
However, Xu Zijin was quickly caught by the nurses and sent back to the operating room.
The door of the operating room banged shut.

A succession of heartrending screams came from the operating room.
Fu Sinian looked at the blood all over the floor. A dull pain suddenly surged through his chest as he recalled the naked hatred in Xu Zijin's eyes.
He had a kind of vacant look on his face, his temples pulsing violently as if there was a monster in his veins struggling to break away from his body.
He staggered forward and felt as if the whole corridor was spinning round him. Suddenly everything went black and he fell flat on his back.
……
When Fu Sinian woke up, he found himself lying on a big bed. He knitted his brows, raised his hand and pressed his throbbing temples with his fingers.
“How do you feel?” Su Xiyu in a white gown walked in.
“What's the matter with me? What about Xu Zijin?” Fu Sinian sat up and pulled out the needle of the perfusion tube from the back of his hand without hesitation.
Su Xiyu immediately placed a pad of cotton-wool on the spot where the needle had pricked Fu Sinian's hand.
“She’s all right,” Su Xiyu said. “But I think you are not in a good condition. Sudden syncope is not a good sign for you. If you don’t want to stay in hospital to recuperate, you should change your lifestyle. In order to be healthy, you'd better live a peaceful life.”
“Did she have an abortion?”
A peaceful life? He had been dragged into the depths of despair and hatred since he was 8 years old. How could he live a peaceful life?
Su Xiyu didn’t answer his question.
Fu Sinian furrowed his brow with a horrible expression on his face. “Why did you save that unborn child?”
Su Xiyu frowned and looked at Fu Sinian with curious eyes. “Sinian, do you really have no recollection of what happened that night?”
Fu Sinian asked with a puzzled look on his face, “What happened?”
“Nothing.” Su Xiyu subconsciously withheld the truth. With a grave look on his face, he continued, “Xu Zijin is fine. The effect of the anaesthetic is wearing off and she will wake up soon. I suspect that this time you fainted because of… You should get a thorough exam at least.”
“I don't need a check-up.” Fu Sinian got out of the bed, changed his clothes and left.
When Fu Sinian walked into Xu Zijin's ward, she had been awake for a while. She huddled up in her bed and hugged a bloody garment tight to her chest, her eyes glassy, like a soulless puppet.
As Fu Sinian neared the bed, he saw the divorce agreement on the bedside table at a glance. What was more, she had signed her name on the dotted line in the bottom right-hand corner of the agreement – Xu Zijin, which needled him.
The signature was dull-red. He looked carefully at it and found that it was written in blood.
Fu Sinian's face darkened as he picked up the agreement with his slender fingers, fixed her with a piercing stare and said in a cold voice, “Xu Zijin, what game are you playing?”
At this moment, he couldn't restrain his anger anymore.
