"Don't push me anymore! Don't..."
Xu Zijin shook her head and bit her lips. Her breathing became heavy and uneven and she perceive the metallic taste of blood in her mouth. Tears rolled down her cheeks and dripped onto the man's naked chest. He felt as if an unseen butterfly had flown into his heart and touching a very raw nerve indeed.
Fu Sinian gently wiped away her tears with his slender, callused fingers. Her tears caused him a great deal of heartache and his fingertips trembled uncontrollably.
"Zijin... Don't cry..." he said soothingly.
He never meant to hurt her but she had always suffered because of him.
Xu Zijin started crying even louder.
She had been expecting for his gentleness for more than twenty years. But when the day arrived, she only felt a sense of emptiness. Destiny was so cruel to her.
"Ah!"
She screamed and withdrew the sharp knife from his chest.
Blood splashed on the white sheet like the red plum blossoms set off by the white snow.
The metallic smell of blood lingered in the air, which brought her thoughts back to the day she had been forced to abort her child.
Hatred of him, for old and new wrongs, welled up in her heart and she squealed, "Why did I meet you? How could I fall in love with you? How could I have been so stupid? Fu Sinian, I hate you! And I can't hate you more!"
She hated this man to the extreme.
How could he have been so cruel and ruthless to her? How could she have been so blind that she even had taken him for a gentleman? In reality, he was a perfidious man.
Suddenly, a bolt of white lightning crackled through the black sky and then a loud crash of thunder broke the silence of the night. A fierce gale sprang up and the rain commenced pouring violently down.

Xu Zijin rushed madly into the heavy rain.
The servants were roused from sleep by her footsteps. They went upstairs, startled to see Fu Sinain lying in pool of blood.
"Oh my God! Mr. Fu, are you okay? Call an ambulance quickly!"
Fu Sinian struggled to get out of the bed. The wound was bleeding profusely and stained his bare chest red.
"Don't let her go... Leave me... Go and bring her back."
The servants dared not to chase Xu Zijin who was, in their eyes, a madwoman. No one wanted to approach her because she had a sharp knife in her hand.
As Fu Sinian reached the front door with the help of the servants, he heard the engine revving and the very next second, a car rushed out of the garage and ran into the rainstorm.
Fu Sinian turned pale, fear reflecting in his eyes.
He immediately ordered, "I need a car! Hurry up! We should go after her!"
"But Mr. Fu, you are injured..."
The driver tried to persuade Fu Sinian, but he lapsed into a silence at the sight of his employer's cold eyes.
Xu Zijin pressed the accelerator hard and the car roared down the road at high speed. The other cars had to take evasive action and drivers couldn't help shouting abuse.
But Xu Zijin didn't hear the abuse because she was immersed in her own thoughts.
At this time, she was in a state of peace. Outside the window, the street lights whirled past in a flash as the car swerved through. The yellow light picked out her blood-stained face and she looked like an evil spirit who just got out from the pit of the underworld.
This time Xu Zijin hadn't made a scene or begged for mercy in front of Fu Sinian. She was fully recovered from insanity and her eyes were distant and calm as she looked straight ahead.
Soon she arrived at Zhujiang River Bridge. Xu Zijin suddenly smiled, as relief and obvious delight were written all over her face.
"Dad, Aunt Liu, my baby, we will soon have a reunion..."
Xu Zijin stepped on the gas pedal harder. At the same time, she loosened her grip on the steering wheel and closed her eyes. The death was coming towards her but she felt a sense of peace and serenity.
"Bang!"
The car drove off the railings of the bridge. Inertia carried the car to a higher place in the air, but a few seconds later, it fell directly into the river.
The river rolled and roared, like a monster swallowing the car and the woman inside it.
"No! No!" Fu Sinian, who had just arrived, roared with despair at the sight of the car disappearing in the river.
At this moment, he felt like the light of hope went off and his world was plunged into darkness. A sharp pain ripped through his heart. He coughed violently and spat out a mouthful of blood.
...
Time flew and half a year had passed. Xu Zijin lay huddled up in a chaise longue, feeling peaceful. She thought of herself as a blind person waiting for death.
When the car had run off the railings of Zhujiang River Bridge, the windscreen had broken on impact and both of her eyes had been cut by a piece of broken glass. Unless she underwent a cornea transplant, she would be blind forever.
All the doctors in the hospital sympathized with her in her misfortune. She was still so young but she had lost the sight of both eyes.
