Chapter 50
----------------------------------------
*Rumble* *Rumble*
The surrounding cavern walls suddenly began to shake, seemingly about to crumble down any moment.
Sensing this, Huang Xue slightly frowned. “Don’t tell me this guy actually linked his soul to the entire tomb? Now that his soul is gone, this cave will collapse in a few minutes. How annoying…”
Huang Xue reached out to grab the Soul pill that was floating in the air. With a thought, a tiny strand of his divine sense entered the pill and fused itself permanently within.
“I should give this to my true body before I leave…” the black-robed Huang Xue murmured.
Afterwards, with a flick of his sleeve, a slit appeared in the air. Huang Xue stepped forward and entered the gap in space.
The cave rumbled as chunks of stones and soil fell down to the ground where Huang Xue had stood moments ago. Before long, the entire area had been buried; with rumbles still echoing loudly throughout the Grand Valley Tomb.
***
At another inner part of the Grand Valley Tomb.
A battered Luo Ke slowly made his way through the tunnel before the walls around him suddenly shook. Bits of soil and grits fell down from ceiling; dusts flew up everywhere.
Luo Ke’s eyes widened as he stared at the ceiling walls. A sense of danger was starting to well up inside him.
“It can’t be…” Luo Ke thought. However, even as he thought that, the cave continued to shake. This time, the trembling was a few times greater than before.
Only when a big chunk of stone broke away from the ceiling and fell down near Luo Ke, before the latter’s face finally fell.
“Sh*t! What kind of bullsh*t expert is this! How is the tomb already collapsing?!” Luo Ke cursed out loud as he turned around, slightly staggering towards where he originally came from.
At the same time, a deep explosion roared out from behind Luo Ke. The noise of stones crashing down pierced Luo Ke’s ears, causing his soul to become shaken.
“Crap! This cave is really going to collapse! I...I must leave quickly! I can’t die at a place like this!” Luo gritted his teeth as he pushed his injured body forward.
Despite his boost of speed, Luo Ke could feel a impending sense of powerlessness welling up inside of him. Given his injuries and the fact that he was in one of the deeper parts of the Grand Valley Tomb, it was unlikely that he would be able to successfully leave this place now…
But even so, he was unwilling to just wait here for his death. He had to move forward.
As the crashing noise grew louder and louder behind him, Luo Ke’s vision began to slightly blur from the fatigue of stressing his body to its limit.
Just as Luo Ke felt his body beginning to grow weak, at that moment, a cold hand suddenly clasp onto his right arm. Another hand swiftly wrapped around Luo Ke’s left arm before Luo Ke felt his body suddenly become lighter.
When he focused his vision, Luo Ke saw the tunnel walls flying by at an astonishing rate.
“This...?” Luo Ke thought numbly in surprise. Someone was currently carrying him out of the cave!
As Luo Ke tilted his head to look at his savior, his eyes went wide in shock. “You...you’re..!”
Unable to come to terms with his senses, Luo Ke could only stare at Huang Xue’s face with his mouth gaping open like a dead fish. His savior had been the least likely person to save him in his mind. But yet, there he was, being carried and supported by the very person who had previously severely injured him so....
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
However, Luo Ke did not immediately panick for his life. After all, even though previously he was injured by Huang Xue and his Six Ocean uniform exposed, the other party did not see his face. Even Luo Ke’s aura was previously hidden by the bagua mirror, so there was no way Huang Xue would recognize him as the one who killed Yang Chen.
If he did, then there was no way that the other party would actually save him...was what Luo Ke analysed in his head.
Moreover, as Huang Xue carried Luo Ke towards the tomb’s entrance, the former had actually reached out with his other hand to grab another stunned youth. With two people in his grasp, Huang Xue rushed towards the exit while shouting at the nearby youths to hurry out as well. He even threw out fierce kicks, causing Qi energy to manifest and strike out towards large stones that were about to fall upon unsuspecting groups.
Luo Ke watched Huang Xue’s actions in a dazed fashion before he felt his body jerk as Huang Xue continued rushing towards the cave exit.
In the next moment, sun light burst into his eyes, causing Luo Ke’s face to crumple up as he tried to shield himself from the sudden brightness. But as his hands moved, he felt his body become light for a brief moment.
*Bang!*
Luo Ke felt his body roughly kissing the ground as Huang Xue nonchalantly threw away the two youths he was holding. Without hesitation, he turned and rushed back into the collapsing cave; returning briefly each time to dump down battered youths.
Luo Ke had wanted to say something, but when he saw Huang Xue continuously risking himself to evacuate those who were still stuck inside the tomb, he ultimately remained quiet.
Not only was Luo Ke feeling a bit at loss, even many disciples and people who had already escaped from the tomb looked on at Huang Xue with a strange expression.
Had the third young master of the Shen clan...always been this magnanimous and noble?
At this time, Yin Liqin stood from afar as she watched Huang Xue. She was one of the fortunate ones who were just returning from the depths of Grand Valley Tomb after her harvest, thus she was able to easily escape when she felt the cave’s sudden changes.
Yin Liqin stared at Huang Xue’s dusty back with a dazed look before recovering herself. Then, with a slight frown, she began to survey the crowd of people who had already evacuated.
“Where is brother Yang Chen?” She thought. Even after sweeping her sharp senses around the area, she could not find any traces of Yang Chen. Was he still caught up inside the Grand Valley Tomb? But then why did only Huang Xue come out…?
*Boom!*
*Boom!*
Just as Huang Xue leaped out of the cave with two young girls under both of his arms, the Grand Valley Tomb suddenly crumble down to the ground.
After being protected by a powerful formation for many years, the tomb had a significance akin to being a famous landmark in the Long Dynasty. No one had been able to open the true tomb inside it, much less even destroy the exterior cave itself.
However, unexpectedly, today...it had collapsed on its own!
The Grand Valley Tomb from today onwards, was no more!
Huang Xue gently allowed the two girls to slump powerlessly to the ground as he let out a soft sigh. “These two should be the last ones…”
The two girls had been terrified as they were almost completely trapped inside the cave for dead, thus even with Huang Xue being their savior and right in front of them, their senses were having a hard time recovering. But Huang Xue did not mind.
After all...his actions were only done in order to shake someone else’s heart.
With a sly gaze, Huang Xue glanced towards Luo Ke’s direction before he began to walk over. After thinking things over, Huang Xue had concocted a new idea to help resolve the “budding distance” between him and Luo Ke. Without hesitation, he began to walk towards the latter.
By now, Luo Ke’s mind was in a confused state. Huang Xue’s actions today had made him question whether this third young master from the Shen clan was truly as heartless as he originally pictured him to be.
After all, the first time Luo Ke saw Huang Xue was when the latter had forcefully snatched away a disciple's finding, only to lavishly gift it to Yang Chen as if it was normal. That had imprinted a terrible impression of Huang Xue in Luo Ke’s heart.
However, outside of that one incident, Luo Ke realized he never truly heard anything else about this Shen clan’s third young master. In fact, there were surprisingly no ill rumors about this supposedly overbearing character during his stay at the Six Ocean Sect. While this may be due to Huang Xue’s status and his overall fierce ability, even then, there should at least be a few whispers here and there, right?
But Luo Ke truly have not even encounter any of such talks!
The more Luo Ke thought about it, the more he felt like it was himself who was being overly judgemental and ignorant. He had categorized someone just because of a single action they did, and failed to take the overall series of events into consideration…
Although Huang Xue’s action today did not immediately subvert Luo Ke’s opinions, it did greatly improve Luo Ke’s thoughts toward this Shen clan’s third young master.
While Luo Ke thought about this, he did not notice Huang Xue had already arrived in front of him.
Huang Xue reached out and firmly patted Luo Ke’s right shoulder, startling the tattered youth. With his left hand, Huang Xue handed a golden-colored pill over to Luo Ke. A faint face could be barely made out on the pill surface.
“Here, consume this low quality pill quickly. It should allow you to completely recover your energy.”
Luo Ke stared at the pill with confused eyes as he unconsciously reached out his hands. He could feel some sort of strange aura coming from the golden pill, however he was certain it was not anything harmful to him. After all, at that moment when the pill appeared, the bagua mirror which was hidden within his body faintly trembled. This always happened when a treasure or some especially special herb was nearby…
But Luo Ke was able to snap out his daze as he quickly opened his mouth to try to reject it. He had killed the Shen third young master’s “friend”, Yang Chen; yet he was ironically saved by that same person who had tried to kill him several minutes ago. And now, that same person is offering him a pill which was most likely to be quite expensive.
Although he felt traces of suspiciousness from Huang Xue’s actions, the main reason Luo Ke wanted to deny the pill was because of his consciousness. With the past events that had occurred, to accept help twice from a supposed “enemy”...it was quite shameful. While some people may found such a scenario favorable and would in turn laugh at the foolishness of their enemies, Luo Ke did not hold the same opinion. If someone treats him right, then he will repay it two folds; if someone offended him, then he would not hesitate to take revenge!
However, before Luo Ke spoke, Huang Xue unexpectedly slightly leaned in towards the former; his face almost parallel to the left side of Luo Ke’s head.
In a soft voice, that was suppressed down to the limit to ensure utter privacy:
“Don’t be shy, take it. Think of it as my reward to you for helping me take care of that Yang Chen. Although it was a bit too early, it should not affect my plans; it only got sped up, that’s all. Anyhow, I hope we get to interact more often in the future, eh?”
Huang Xue then leaned back and smiled at Luo Ke, who stared back at him dumbfoundedly.
Luo Ke’s mind spun as he could only utter a single word: “...H-huh?”
