Chapter 42: Approaching
----------------------------------------
“One...one million Qi stones!”
The crowd of cultivators were utterly stunned. Before they even had time to digest the sum that was a hundred thousand Qi stones, the bid had instantly leaped into a million Qi stones! This kind of amount...was an astronomical sum!
Even the major factions of the Long Dynasty would not dare to casually throw out so many Qi stones at once. While a Lower Sea-grade treasure was incomparably rare, a million Qi stones was sufficient enough for one to purchase several tens of other great skills and artifacts!
Yang Chen had his mouth slightly agape with shock as he turned towards Huang Xue, who was sitting next to him. But nothing came out of his mouth. With such a sudden bid amount, it had caught Yang Chen off guard. And facing this ‘brother’ of his, Yang Chen felt torn on how he should act. In the end, he decided to stay silent.
Off to the other balcony, Jia Changying had an ugly expression as she looked towards Huang Xue’s section.
“The hell...!? Did a nouveau riche actually appear here?” Jia Changying thought irritatedly. When her eyes landed on the white-haired youth, a flash of shock and doubt crossed her pretty face. Then, a strange gleam glowed within her dark pupils; she did not say anything further.
After a while, Auctioneer Jun was finally able to regain his senses before he felt his heart bursting with ecstasy.
“I’ve struck it rich! Rich! With this transaction, I would have done a great merit for the clan; the rewards given to me then would certainly not be small!” Auctioneer Jun thought gleefully.
Quickly announcing Huang Xue’s winning bid, Auctioneer Jun hurriedly sent people to deliver the item. In moments, the transaction was finished.
Holding a gold-colored cosmic bag in his hands, Huang Xue fiddled around with it as Yang Chen watched on with envy.
While a sword was indeed large, it did not require a gold colored cosmic bag, which had 300 cubic meters of space in it, to carry. By delivering the Amber Gold Sword in such a luxurious cosmic bag naturally had a clear meaning: the branch Thousand Flowers clan was trying to garner favors with Huang Xue!

But thinking back to the outrageous bid of a million QI stones, Yang Chen then felt it was normal in the end.
Just as Yang Chen felt a sense of regret and indignation, Huang Xue’s cool voice floated over to his ears:
“While this sword is quite good, in the end, I do not feel that it fits me. Instead, I feel this sword would suit brother Yang more. So how about this, allow me to gift this Amber Gold Sword to you, brother Yang Chen.”
Turning around just in time to catch a gold colored bag flying towards him, Yang Chen caught it with sweep of his hands. Looking down at the golden cosmic bag and then back at Huang Xue’s smiling face, Yang Chen suddenly felt a sense of happiness exploding inside of him.
“Ha..haha...hahaha! I, Yang Chen, is truly not blind! I have actually found such a great brother! Haha, brother Huang Xue, since you are willing to gift me this sword after paying such a price, I, Yang Chen, am naturally not heartless. From now on, if you need me for anything, be it to go through a mountain of fire or cross a spiky road of hell, I will not hesitate to do for you!”
Huang Xue smiled, a faint look of disdain could be detected within the deepest depths of his eyes when he looked at Yang Chen.
“If that is so, then I am fortunate to have found such a great ‘brother’ as you, young master Yang!” Nonetheless, Huang Xue courteously replied.
All the onlookers had an envious expression when they saw the event unfolding in before them. To gift away an item that was bidded for one million Qi stones so easily, the Shen clan being one of the majorest powers was certainly not false! And for Yang Chen to accept it just as smoothly, the Yang clan was not to be trifled with either…
Yin Liqin had a strange expression as she silently looked at Huang Xue.
“This third young master of the Shen clan...is really interesting.” She thought as a gentle smile formed on her face.
With the last item bidded off, the Thousand Flowers clan’s grand auction quickly came to a close as a few other items were distributed off to the respective winning bidders. People began to file out of the large building, going about their ways.
“Let us head towards an inn for the night. We will leave early tomorrow morning to the Grand Valley Tomb.” Yang Chen suggested as they walked out of the auction house.
Everyone agreed as they headed out. After a few courteous words to the Yin Liqin and her group, Yang Chen lead Huang Xue and his followers away.

At a distant location, deep within in a field of forests decorated by long mountain range. It is now nighttime, with various unearthly cries echoing through the forest.
From the looming shadows of the trees, a figure slowly began to materialise itself. Soon, it transformed into a complete form of male, who wore a black robe decorated with scales.
The young man looked to be in his late twenties, but his interweaving black and gray hair suggested otherwise. Unlike Huang Xue’s white haired appearance that radiated a feeling of youth, this man’s entire being gave off the feeling of ancientness; and a feeling of dread.
The male had a handsome appearance and his eyes, which were clear….was shockingly the color of azure!
But within those beautiful blue eyes, a chilling aura radiated out; causing anyone who meets his gaze to feel as if their body had been suddenly frozen!
The black scale-robed man stepped out from under the shadow of tree, his figure now bathed under the illuminating moonlight. An eerie sense of transcendence surround his body at this moment, making him seem almost unreal.
“The boy must be around here…” The azure-eyed man murmured to himself as he glanced at the dark forest around him. “I need to obtain that mirror quickly, before those old bastards catch up. I need to hurry...hurry…!”
A resolute and cold light appeared within the man’s eyes. Turning around, the man flicked his sleeve before his body seemed to instantly melt, dropping down and merging perfectly with the shadows around.
The loud beastly cries around the forest continued on, undisturbed and unaware of the man’s presence.
