Chapter 41: Bidding, Bidding, Bidding! (2)
----------------------------------------
After the Upper common-grade skill was bidded off, Auctioneer Jun continued on with the other items. Each one being more precious and costly after the other. This time, the people upstairs had begun to participate as well; taking up more than ninety five percent of the people who actually bid on the items.
“Our Winged Moon Faction will bid 20,000 Qi stones!” A stout young man in dark blue robe called out. This person was called Kui Tian, the determined successor of his faction.
“The Yang clan shall bid 21,000 Qi stones!”
“Sorry brother Yang, but the Yin clan bids 23,000 Qi stones!”
“Hmph, our Immortal Spirit Pavilion will bid 30,000 Qi stones!” A young woman looking to be twenty or twenty one called out haughtily. Wearing a black dress, this person was Jia Changying.
Although her beauty was not that of a gentleness like Yin Liqin, but rather a fierceness that could cause men to go crazy!
Nonetheless, she was still a beauty whose slightly black, curly hair, smooth face, and naturally endowed physique could entangle several men and even befall a city!
And this Jia Changying was also a favored child of the Immortal Spirit Pavilion, carrying the hopes of her faction!
The crowd below could only look on with envy and awe as the figures above bidded extravagant wealth for the red lotus that was currently on display. After the appearance of the ‘Iron Skin’ skill, they had very few chance to continue bidding on the items that came afterwards. Many people had even begun to leave at this point, seeming the imposing manner of the powerful individuals on the second floor.
“And now, for the final item to conclude this grand auction, our Thousand Flowers clan present to you:the ‘Amber Gold Sword’...a Lower Sea-grade weapon! This was a precious weapon that our clan had found within the Grand Valley Tombs two years ago. And today, we have finally decided to put this up for auction! The starting bid will be 50,000 Qi stones, with each succeeding bid to be in increments of at least five thousand!”
Auctioneer Jun’s excited voice boomed across the auditorium as everyone’s eyes glowed when they saw a long golden sword being brought out. A faint oppressive aura was being given off the weapon. The shining jade words ‘Amber Gold’ could be seen etched on the sword’s edge.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Hei Yuan’s eyes shone with excitement as he hurriedly called out: “Our Fierce Dragon clan is willing to bid 55,000 Qi stones for the Amber Gold sword! I hope, everyone here would please give face to this one and let me have this sword!”
In reality, Hei Yuan did not have this sum of Qi stones. His twenty five thousand Qi stones had already nearly been depleted. But he had already sent an elder back to his clan to get more money. This was why he was confident in calling out his bid.
No matter, he had to obtain that lower Sea-grade sword! If he did, not only would his combat strength rise, his clan’s power would rise as well!
“Heh, Hei Yuan, this is an auction house, not a mere store. If you have the ability then obtain the sword with your money! Our Winged Moon Faction will bid 56,000 Qi stones.” A gruff voice rang out from another section on the second floor. This comment obviously belonged to Kui Tian.
Hei Yuan turned to glare at Kui Tian and was just about to retort back when another voice rang out.
“Yang clan will bid 60,000 Qi stones!”
Everyone once again turned to see a young man in a luxurious blue robe looking arrogantly down at the red stage. When Hei Yuan saw the person who bidded, his face fell as he slunk back down on his seat. Even Kui Tian narrowed his eyes, but remained silent.
On the second floor, Yin Liqin turned to the arrogant blue robed youth and said with a smile: “Hehe, it seems brother Yang Chen is really determined to get his hands on this item. Since that is the case, I will not fight with you for this sword.”
Yang Chen’s smile widened as he saluted to Yin Liqin: “Thank you, sister Liqin!”
Huang Xue did not say anything as he looked on with indifference. Throughout the entire auction, there had been nothing that really caught his eyes.
Just as Yang Chen thought that the sword was finally his, a crisp female voice called out haughtily:
“Our Immortal Spirit Pavilion will bid 100,000 Qi stones!”
The crowd below grew silence as they looked towards the VIP section above. A hundred thousand Qi stones were a sum that many of them could not wrap their heads around.
To increase the price by nearly forty thousand Qi stones at once, it could seen that the other party did not fear the Yang clan...
Yang Chen froze as he turned to face the owner of the voice. “Jia Changying, you…!”
Jia Changying had a smug smile on her face as she looked lazily back at Yang Chen. “What? Don’t tell me young master Yang thinks he owns this place and would not allow others to place their bid?”
Yang Chen gritted his teeth as he called out: “I’ll bid 105,000!”
With the other party’s high status, Yang Chen knew it was not good to offend her. Thus, he could only continue bidding.
“110,000 Qi stones.” Jia Changying called out coolly.
Yang Chen had a dark expression as he looked gloomily over at the red stage. Even though he had initially brought a large amount of Qi stones, most of them had been used to purchase other bid items. By now, he had less than ninety thousand Qi stones left, and had planned to negotiate with the auction manager to pay the rest of the payment at a later date.
“Dammit! Why does she have to covet that sword as well…” Yang Chen grumbled.
But even as he said that, Yang Chen already knew the answer in his heart. In the Long Dynasty, a Lower Earth-grade artifact was already considered outstanding, much less an Upper level one!
Grinding his teeth, Yang Chen was just about to go all out when suddenly, from his side, a youthful, calm voice spoke out. Although the person did not raise their voice, a sort of power was infused within it, allowing the sound to successfully bounce across the auditorium.
“The Shen clan shall bid one million Qi stones.”
“.....”
When the bid was announced, a deathly silence immediately filled the spacious auditorium; so quiet that one could even hear a pin drop...
