Homicide.

CHAPTER 3

Lun was sitting in limbo’s council waiting room. He had a trial a few days ago. It wasn’t gonna end well of course, he was just waiting for a chance to run away as he was so scared of what would happen in the council room. “Mr. Lun?” a girl came to him.

“Yes?”

“You can go into the council meeting room now,” she said it so quickly, only If it was that easy for Lun.

“Ok,” he breathed. He pushed the doors with all his strength.

“Mr. Lun?”

“Yes sir.”

“Take a seat.”

“Hm, you’ve been charged with committing homicide.” Carlos the head judge said. Lun's breath hitched at that.

“But, it was justified as self-defense. So you’ll be facing some minor charges.”

Emmanuel the second head of judge. completed the sentence.

“Such as….?” Lun said, trembling, the fear clear in his voice.

“Such as one: You are not allowed to set foot into heaven, again.

And two: you’ll have to come to the council for a meeting every once a month. Till we say you’re safe, to let be.”

“I won’t be able to go home?” he asked, shivers running through him.

“Yes, Mr. Lun. You are not to go back home. Limbo is your new home now” Isla said.

“Ok…” Lun said slowly.

Leaving the council building he sighed. He had no choice but to explore limbo a bit.

After all, he had to find a place to sleep for the night. With a heavy heart, he stepped onto the street, walking, wandering the streets looking to find some shelter. But the stares he was getting were making him so scared.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

He was an angel. Angels were known to be pure beings, with wings that were so powerful they could give you immortality. So, of course, some people had ill intentions for the angel; who was just looking for warmth.

He came across a flower shop. People who deal with flowers are nice, right?

He thought. Getting into the shop he saw some fairies working on some flowers, and making them blossom. “Hey..” he greeted, his voice a little over a whisper.

“Oh, hello! How can I help you?” a girl came up to him and said, with a warm smile. She seemed to have red eyes, and blood red wings embedded with white lines, she was beautiful.

“I was looking… for a job. Are… you in need of a worker?” he said, dazed by her beauty.

“Oh, well. We need some help around the shop. So.. sure!”

“Ah, thank you very much, Miss. I was in dire need of some money..” he said abruptly.

She giggled like an innocent angel ”You seem new here. Do you have a place to live?”

“Oh. I don’t” He admitted, rubbing his hand on his neck. Why is she asking this... He thought.

“You can live with me, I am sort of looking for a roommate anyway.” she chuckled awkwardly.

“Really?!” Lun said, perking up.

“Yes, my name's Ava. Nice to meet you,” she said, holding her hand out toward him, smiling.

“Nice to meet you, Ava! My name is Lun,” he said, shaking her hand.

Please don’t be a bad person, this was just too good to be true, for me. He thought. “I don’t have a choice but to trust her, right now. God, please be on my side today..” he pleaded in a low voice, enough for no one to hear, following Ava out of the shop.

“Here, we’re home! It was a nice lil cozy hut, right!” Lun entered aweing as it was decorated with nature and crystals. It seemed cozy yet sharp. Moving deeper through the home, it led to the living room. A kitchen with green accents and a door towards the back garden. Lun supposed Ava practiced her skills as there were so many flowers, organized with names and their types.

Ava points and names each of the rooms down a hallway to the right of the kitchen. The hall leads to Ava's room on the left, Lun's on the right, and the bathroom is the middle door.

“It is cozy in here..,” he commented with a small smile, bringing his small amount of belongings in.

“Yes, it is! My boyfriend and I spent a lot of time decorating it!! Now go set your room up, we’ll meet for dinner. I’mma go get freshen up." cool that she has her life together. Lun chuckled to himself.

"See you, I guess,” Lun said before going to the room and shutting the door.

Sigh “What’s even is this day..” before he could think more. He began unpacking his things…

“Finally, done.” Lun sighed, falling on the bed. It was 9 pm now.

Ava had come to check in and call Lun for dinner an hour ago. He told her he’ll eat after she’s done. Pushing away any interaction with anyone. It didn’t seem right to enjoy today. But Now, though, the distractions are over. And all the thoughts he was running from are coming back into his mind. His once peaceful temple clouded with melancholy...

Going out of the room, he noticed that all the lights were off, Ava was properly asleep by now. “Way to make a good first impression Lun!” he said to himself. Not feeling hungry, he did his nightly routine and slept.
