Chapter 25: Villainy Revealed
Harper walked under an overpass before walking into the vibrant Nimbasa City. She wiped her eyes in disbelief. She had never witnessed something so amazing, astounding, or marvellous before. She was so startled that she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. There were so many lights here and there. The city was so bright Harper was sure it could be seen even on a misty smoggy dark night.
Around the city, there were different buildings here and there of many varieties. The first one that showed Harper's interest was the theatre where musicals were staged. The building was colourful and had all different things on its roof. This ranged from a bright yellow star, a fake massive film camera just like the ones seen in the movies, and a giant golden musical note.
"Let us go watch a show first," said Harper dashing towards the theatre.
Her friends followed her as she entered the building. The entrance had a gold-plated staircase in the centre of the room that lead up to the main theatre. Harper approached the ticket booth and brought two tickets, one for her and one for Pedro. She wanted to reward him for all the good things he had done for her in the past few months that they had known each other.
Down the stairs came another guy, about the same age as Pedro, who also looked extremely hot. He had pale skin and black spiky hair. He wore a black suit with a tie and fancy-dress paints. He slowly wandered down the stairs. He had only one person he had his sight on, and it was Harper. She started to feel flatter. She liked that she had yet another admirer. She had battled lots of people so sup he was starting to become a somewhat celebrity trainer in Unova.
"Sup," he told her while he slowly and politely towards Harper, "My name is Yorick Zander, but you can just call me Yom."
"Please to me you Yom," said Harper as Yom approached
"May we have a Pokémon battle?" he asked her.
"I would really be happy to have battled with you," she told him. "I’ve caught a new Pokémon and I really want to try him out. I only caught him some time ago and have not battled him yet."
"If that is the truth then I’ll go easy on you so that you can try out that new Pokémon on me," said Yom.
Since the entrance was not that crowded, they decided to have the battle there. Harper took out a Pokéball and lifted it into the air. Yom did the same thing with his balls.
"How many Pokémon are we using?" asked Yom. It was important to ask how Pokémon were being used before a battle. Only criminals would keep throwing Pokémon at poor unsuspecting victims.
"Only one," said Harper.
"Okay," said Yom gentlemanlike.
Although he had brought out two Pokéballs for a double battle, he respectfully put one of those balls back into his paints.
"Superior," Yom said, "you can come out now."
"Sandile," said Harper, "time to prove your worth."
The Superior was a grass-like green serpent that was at least ten feet tall. It was incredibly massive. It had darker green and bright yellow vine-like patterns on its body. Its yellow pointed ears moved here and there listening to the surrounding areas.
As quick as lightning, the Serperior lurched into the air, and crawled up in a wheel-like position before dashing down onto the ground. With massive strength, it struck the Sandile, knocking the other Pokémon back. The Sandile appeared dazed and confused. Not knowing what was going on, the Sandile tried to swipe back but it was unsuccessful and only instead hurt itself in its confusion. However, it didn’t knock itself out and was still able to fight.
The Serperior spat out Leech Seeds, which the Sandile was able to dodge. However, the Serperior then performed Growth, shooting out vines into the ground that then came out of the ground and grabbed hold of Sandile. The croc-like Pokémon tried to fight itself out, but it was not successful. It was knocked out. Harper had lost a battle.
"You thought well," said Yom. "I seem much talent in you."
"Thank you for battling me," said Harper. "I learnt a lot from this and hopefully I’ll be able to use this experience in future battles. Maybe we’ll battle again. I might be able to defeat you next time."
"My Serperior and Drifloon will be looking forward to that," he said.
They then watched the show that was being shown at the theatre. It was an enjoyable show. It was an ancient Greek tragic play that made Harper cry. The Pikachu was at the end of the play betrayed by its own lover, a Charmander. As an act of revenge, the Pikachu used a bucket of water – since it was an electric Pokémon, so it didn’t know any water moves – to dose out the flame on Charmander's tail. Once the play was finished, and Harper had gotten over sobbing over the play’s ending, they went to the Pokémon Centre to heal their Pokémon.
"This is now time to get my Pokémon back," Harper announced. "Whoever stole my Pokémon is going to have to pay dearly. I don’t think I’ll be able to forgive them."
"I don’t really like thieves," said Brandon. "We caught our Pokémon far and squire. taking them without our permission is a real disgrace. If we do find out who they are I think I am going to do a citizen’s arrest on them."

"I want to battle them first," said Harper, "to make sure they’re who they say they are."
"Please don’t get too hasty," said Pedro. "We’re representing the Kanto region. We shouldn’t get ourselves arrested or else it will look really bad on our region."
"I think you’re right there. I’m going to stay back a bit. But if the thieves try any tricky business, then I’ll have to intervene and teach them a lesson not to take on the Mighty Harpoon, the up-and-coming trainer Harper," she announced. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Team Rocket who stole my Pokémon. I never really trusted those guys before.”
"We will tag along," said Brandon, "and make sure nothing really bad happens."
"Good," said Harper, "time to get to the Farris Wheel to sort this out once and for all!"
She went up to the ticket booth at the Ferris Wheel, which was on the east side of the city. She brought two tickets, one for her and one for Pedro. Brandon stayed down on the ground since he hated height and was useless when it came to battling. Harper was also nervous that Brandon would do something illegal like try and arrest the person, especially if there was no evidence that they had stolen their Pokémon. Harper and Pedro entered the compartment where they were told to meet the mysterious person. As they entered Harper noticed something eerie was going on. The person in the compartment was unrevealed in the shadows so she couldn’t see who they were. But as they lifted higher into the air as the wheel turned, Harper discovered who had stolen her Pokémon. It was… N!
"It was you all along," said Harper in disgust. "You know how long it took me to catch all those Pokémon? It was like forever."
"You’re not going to get away from this," Pedro came to his girlfriend's support. "We’ll do a citizen arrest right here."
"Do you realize who I am?" N said with a sinister laugh. "Of course, you don’t."
"We don’t care who you are as long as you return our Pokémon!" Harper screamed in disgust.
"And why would I do that?" N asked them, saying in a creepy evil tone.
"Because I know you are a good person inside," said Harper. "All those times you supported us. How could you do such an evil thing to us? How could you betray us? You were my friend!"
"It was needed to get your trust. It was my plan all along! I schemed this even before we meet. Remember Augusta? She was a spy! Every time you meet her, she went back to me to tell me what you were doing!" N revealed as everything.
"I can’t believe that! Augusta would never betray me!" Harper exclaimed in shock, unable to believe what N had said.
"How foolish of you!" said N. "As we are speaking, she is returning to her home country. But fear not, for I don’t trust spies, so I have placed a bomb on her plane. It was a blow-up any minute now!"
"How could you do such a thing, you terrorist scum!" Pedro said angrily.
"I haven’t even finished!" N said. "Toby Havana were also spies! They pretended to be members of Team Rocket but secretly were on my side. They too were evil plants!
"I knew something was fishy about them," Brandon said.
"Now I’ve got you in my trap!" N laughed manically evilly. "I will make an example of you all!"
"Give back our Pokémon or you will suffer!" said Harper. "If you don’t then we will have to battle to make you learn your lesson. Then we will take back our stolen Pokémon!"
"You’re too late!" said N.
"Why’s that!" yelled Harper.
"Because your Pokémon has been turned into zombies and released into the wild," N sneered. "You will never ever get your Pokémon back ever again. Indeed, I stole them, but you stole them first. So, technically I only returned them back to the wild where they originally belong! And now that you’re in my trap I will do the same thing to the rest of your Pokémon!"
"That cannot possibly be right!" Harper told him.
"It is perfectly right!" N gave out an evil cackle. "I am Lord N, the humble leader of Team Plasma!"
"It was you all along!" Harper said. "I will not let you get away with such a wicked deed! I challenge you to a Pokémon battle."
"Then so be it!" said N. He took out his Pokéball. "This is time to settle this! Once I am finished with you then I will get all the other Pokémon. I’ll release them before turning them into Zombies so you can’t catch them again. As zombies, they won’t follow your command since they are zombies!"
"Sandile," said Harper, "let’s teach this evil man not to mess with me!"
"I will see what you’re worth," said N. "Sandile, you’ll prove your worth to her Sandile!"
On the battlefield was two Sandile. This meant that it was not the weakness or strength that mattered but the skill of the trainer. Harper had trained her Sandile enough now to know how to battle it properly. The two yellowy-brown Pokémon growled at each other.
N's Sandile took the first charge, rushing at Haper’s Sandile like a bullet that had just been shot from a gun a mile away in an epic duel between two fighters. As his Sandile got closer, it lifted its arm to swipe her Sandile. Luckily her Sandile was able to dodge this, however, his Sandile still had the motion and was able to get another swipe done which her Sandile was not able to dodge, knocking it back. His Sandile thought it was able to make one last swipe at the Sandile but was caught off the guide. The Sandile was able to crunch into the other Sandile causing it to scream in pain. As it walked away whimpering in sorrow, the Sandile was able to swipe at it knocking the Sandile out.
"This is not over," said N. "I will get my way."
N jumped into a cooper that was nearby and flew away.
"We’ve failed our task," said Harper. "I was unable to get our Pokémon back."
"I’m sure we will get him the next time," Pedro comforted her. "We still have the gym leader to beat."
"Let’s go and do that now!" said Harper.
This suggestion had cheered her up. So, they went back to the centre to get their balls checked before going to the gym. It was time to get her fourth badge.
The gym was made up of different rollercoasters that went all around the gym’s room. The whole building inside was full of bright neon lights. This reminded Harper of Las Vegas.
Harper hopped onto one of the carts and rode her way to the gym leader. Gym Leader Elesa was easy to beat since she used electric types. Harper’s Tepig steamrolled through Elesa’s Zebstrika – an electric Zebra-like Pokémon – winning Harper a Bolt Badge.
As Harper left the building, her cell phone began to ring. She answered the call. It was Professor Oak.
“I have a really important task for you,” he explained. “I know you’re busy doing the gym challenge, but I need you to go to Alola as fast as possible. There have been reported wormholes appearing throughout the region. You are the only person I trust to investigate this stuff. I’ve paid for you to fly to the region.”
“I’m glad you’re thinking of me.”
“Sadly, you’ll have to place your current Pokémon into the PC,” the professor explained. “Alola doesn’t allow you to take Pokémon from other regions there. They have quite strict quarantine rules. Don’t fret, I’m organising with the local professor there to gift you with some new Pokémon. And I’m sure you’ll be able to catch all-new types of Pokémon.”
While Harper was disappointed since she wasn’t going to use her Tepig anymore – she liked that she had a rare green version – but she knew she couldn’t break the law. She knew one day when she returned to Unova she could use her old Pokémon again.
So, Harper caught the transit line to Unova International Airport, which was in Mistralton City. They boarded the plane. Harper was excited to experience this new region.
