chapter two

Demons. As attractive as they are, they aren't good news. They will tear up your life faster than you can tell them no. That's why when I became a fallen angel, I was careful of who I spent my time with. I can see a demon's true form, which made choosing who I associated with a lot easier. However, in some ways it didn't. I may be a fallen angel, but I have the curiosity of a mortal. I get intrigued by a creature and then, just like that, it ruins my existence. It's the curse of a fallen angel. Once you rebel, you're on your own. I don't really mind, although it would help if the counsel cared.

I sat in detention, fidgeting with my pencil. Boredom is still a thing for us fallen creatures, and right now I was tempted to do something really awful just to entertain myself. I had just decided to doze off when a new guy walked in. I gasped as his menacing presence filled the room, crashing into my senses. I shook my head as the guy looked at me.

His bright red eyes sent chills down my spine. I didn't want to be caught staring, but I couldn't tear my eyes away. His smile radiated light, and yet his intentions were anything but good. He was a demon. I turned away, pretending not to care. A cold breeze caressed my face as the new guy walked by. He walked to the teacher before sending me a smirk. A smirk that spelled one message...

Trouble. I looked down as a blush crept across my cheeks. I would have to be careful with this one.

I walked into my house, fully exhausted. School had been a complete disaster. I dropped my stuff on the bed before moving to open the shutters. I noticed a slip of paper caught in my window. Curiosity gripped me, causing me to open the glass and remove the paper. Opening it, I saw cursive handwriting covering the paper.

Desire. Love. I don't know what to call it. All I know is that you will be mine, So I suggest you leave the window unlocked tonight. You can hide from me, but you will be mine. Whether you like it or not.

-MY

I stared at the note. Fear mixed with curiosity hit me. "I could leave the window open and see who sent the note or I could be a rational human being and lock it." I said to myself. "Screw it." I threw the note on the ground and locked the window. Even if my curiosity was begging me to leave it unlocked, I was going to be smart and not let whoever sent it in.

Picking up my belongings, I started for the door. I didn't even make it halfway when a voice spoke inside my head. "Did you like my note princess?" I shook my head, staggering back slightly. Rubbing at my forehead, I waited for a few seconds before brushing it off.

"Don't ignore me!" the voice urged louder. I yelped and fell into the hallway wall. I felt stiff, and unmoveable. It was like something was holding me down. "Unlock the window." the voice ordered. I fought the urge to obey. I shook my head.

"No!" I screamed. "I won't listen." I dragged my unresponsive body to the kitchen, and held onto the table as control returned to me Panic began to trickle in as I realized the gravity of the situation. There was a demon here that wanted me. I couldn't let him have me; I had to keep fighting, starting with disobeying what it had told me to do. I grabbed the remaining chain from the basement and walked to my window.

I peered out. That's when I saw the seven boys standing outside my house, staring directly at my window. I hurried to shut the curtains and released a shaky breath. I did not just see seven demon creature things outside my house. I rushed to put the chain on the window while somewhat succeeding in staying hidden.

With a sigh, I hurried to my bed. "Tonight," I whispered,"No demon is going to get me."
